"There is no life without death and no death without life"
He was a personal friend of my dad and after I graduated from Han Chiang College, I worked for him in his printing press factory.
I've not seen since Alan since Chinese New Year when I visited the factory. Alan's father kept asking me to go back and work for them. I refused them so many times. I still remember the day I left, I wrote a letter to Alan. I didn't bitch about the bitches at work who was giving me trouble like I wanted to cause I didn't wanted to stress him out but I thanked him for everything and wrote that no matter what, I'll remember him and that he was a great person. I meant every word I wrote that day.
I was in shock when I heard the news, it really upset me a great deal especially since I'm very fond of him. He was the type of boss that anyone would love to work for. There was a time, while I was still working for him and he saw me leaving for lunch late (it was about 1.30pm and lunch time was 1pm) and he happily told me that since I was leaving late, it was okay for me to come back later. I didn't of course, other incidents were like when he saw me going out for lunch with my senior and then proceed to take out his wallet and gave us RM50 for lunch. This was him. He's extremely generous with his staffs to a fault.
I can't believe he was really gone, I attended his funeral on Saturday and it was drizzling non stop. I didn't stay to watch his casket get loaded into the car and get driven off to the cemetry plot. I didn't want to. It's all so surreal to me.
In the end, everyone must die, how and when we will all die is the only difference. The only way we'll live forever is by staying in someone's heart and memories. And Alan will forever stay in mine.
Know you in heaven smilin down
Watchin us while we pray for you
Every day we pray for you
Til the day we meet again
In my heart is where Ill keep you friend
