Finally got off my lazy ass and presenting EH Magic Balm + Pore Erasing Peach Base + Nails

Headed over to Etude House on Saturday with Elisa and Kern after meeting up with Mr. C. It's been a while since I last saw Mr.C so I was happy to see him all fine and well. I needed to get Kern her belated birthday present, it's been bugging me for a while now and since Elisa waited in the car, we didn't have to search for parking but we rush through buying our stuffs to beat the jam home. I also needed to bank in payment for some new wigs. Fingers crossed this time.

Got a black (how boring right?) nail colour from EH + some nail decorations. It was only RM2.70 per packet thanks to the sales.

Left to right: How the black looks on my nails, I prefer darker colours on shorter nails, *shrugs* it's just me; What I currently have on. I actually washed off the black after a failed experiment :P

Ta-daa.. should have put the ribbon in the middle. Took off the ribbon on my right hand since it kept scratching my eyes and prevent me from removing my contacts. Ouch!

That reminds me, one of my all-time favourite BB cream is the EH Magic Balm. It is actually a little oilier than the EH's precious mineral but it's still on an acceptable level of oilyness. Makes any sense? :P

If you ever wondered how much amount of BB cream are you getting well, wonder no more, it's stated on the bottom that it's 25g which actually is pretty little. What a waste of plastic! To be truthful, only the packaging is big and flashy, the content ain't that great but because the coverage is pretty good, we don't need to use alot.

It was a pain in the behind to use one corner and leave the othe half untouched but I wanted to do this to see a good comparision on how much stuff we're getting and here's the result. Yes yes, I know it's disguisting looking and hey, it actually looks alot :P

Looks can be decieving of course.

Next up, Pore Erasing Peach Base. Countless of beauty blogger has all blogged about this and given their 2cents, now it's my turn and unfortuantely, it won't be all that great. Of course everyone has different types of skin as well as condition and weather factor and gene factor and land factor and .... *goes on*

*shakes ass at it*

This covers slight pores not moon craters, remember that. It helps to soften and fill in the 'holes' giving us a smoother canvas to paint with. How well it works for me, not that great. even my MAC prep and prime does so much better and at least 3 hours later , it doesn't make me look like I fell in face first into a tub of oil.

It's oily! No no, I meant, it makes my face oily. My make up become the dancing queen whenever I have it on, it moves to places it's not suppose to and pisses the shit outta me. Make up to me is suppose to sit there and be still and not move around. It's not that I put too much on but it's just not working for me.

It works well for Kern who has dry skin and she has no complains about it but for me and Elisa, it's much too oily for us. *sigh*

It almost look black right now and I love it! I miss my black hair but black hair can be boring sometimes;
Look look! No more blue contacts and look look, double eyelids, ARGHHH on ONE eye

Oh oh I recoloured or shall I say retouched up my hair colour. After the purple came and gone, I was left with mr.not here not there brown. And I finally asked me ma to colour my hair for me again and I fell in love with the colour all over again.

Kern's and Elyn's gifts! Thank youuuu~

A short update

The weather has been absolutely perfect lately, it's cool and breezy and it's been raining. I love the rain.

Been feeling mighty lazy to update my blog after the whole Ganguro and Arabic look in less than 2 days apart. Yes yes, I wasn't exactly born very hardworking, I realized. *scratches ass and yawn*

Kidding, moving along, was out with Kern and Lawrence on Sunday for dinner since it was Lawrence's birthday that night and out of the blue, Kern said she bought a new lip balm for me and Elisa. I remember my shock. I went, "Huh? It's not my birthday, that just past! What's the occasion?" It's funny because Elisa later gave the exact same reaction.

THANK YOU KERN!

Ta daaaa, green tea lip balm!

It's green! Much to my surprise and taste a little like green tea after all

Last Friday night, I was having some issues that I just couldn't think of an answer. I was left confused and annoyed so I did the next best thing, I texted Elyn. I must apologize to Elyn since I sent the message at an ungodly hour. But I value Elyn's insights and advises on things such as these and I know she'll one way or another have an answer.

She texted me back the next day saying to meet up in QB on Monday at 1pm. I couldn't sleep out of excitement and ended up waking late for our meeting. I act like a little kid sometimes, I know.

I've often write about Elyn and even knowing her for months now, I love here more and more everyday. I thank God that Elyn came into my life and for all the wrong things that I did in my past life, I'm happy that I must have did something right to have known her. She has been my shoulder to cry on and my wall of support as well as a mentor, a mother and best of all a superb friend.

After the chat we had, I had this immense burden on my mind and heart lifted. I sat there amazed at the feeling, I can't describe the feeling but I'm so thankful. It's like growings your wings once again and the soul feels so much lighter and you question yourself, why was it even such a big deal in the first place.

After the chat, she took out a small goodie bag and pass them to me as I sat there in shock. I careful unzipped everything and I could tell that like all her other gifts, she has put a lot of thoughts into them. She included the Burt's Bees hand creme and also a lemon nail cuticle cream, a NYX round lipstick in Circe, Etude House eyeshadow in GR662, a sample of Skin79 Diamond Prestige BB cream that she recently got, Ecotools face buffers and a cute Burt's Bee bag.

Why I was in shock because these are the things that I've been eyeing. The Etude House eyeshadow was something I had planned to get Elyn but since I'm late and she got to QB way before I did I never got the chance. The NYX lip colour was the colour I've been looking for. I've been on the search for a nude colour lipstick for years and Pumpkin Pie turned out a little too orange-y. I love Pumpkin Pie but it's hard to believe after so long, I've gotten the perfect nude lipstick. It totally inspires me to do a Smokey FOTD everytime I look at it. I'm so excited.

EcoTools face buffer was something, I'm so pleased and happy to get. Ever since my electric toothbrush I bought to scrub my face died, I've been left with...my hands. I've been loving them, You can read about them from Elyn's blog here.

Left to right: NYX round lipstick in Circe, (I kept repearting the name in my head while sitting there with Elyn in Coffee Bean); Swatch

Left to right: Without gloss, with MJ lip gloss in BE115

I know this is not one colour I can wear frequently nor can I wear this everyday. I'll look too pale in this but with a Smokey eyes, this will be perfect! It's been a while since I had smokey eyes on so I'm really very excited. So Expect a Smokey Eye FOTD soon!

Note: Guam time is advance a few hours from U.S.

But anyway congrats to Sharlene and here goes (Be warned: Picture heavy) ;

Inspired picture, Ain't she a beauty! I don't expect to be able to do the same
nor do I even own such a cool headgear

I ended up watching YouTube "Make up with Joelle" till 7am. FYI, Joelle is a famous Arabic make up artist. From the countless of videos, I gathered that Arabic concentrate on the flawless complexion, eyebrows and eyeliners. And I must say, to me Arabic women has always been the most beautiful women in the world, nothing seems to beat their features. *sigh* How on earth am I going to pull all this off? *slaps self* This is for fun, this is for fun!

Left to right: I couldn't decide where the colours goes so let's just put them anywhere and everywhere. Nyahahahahaha
Even everything out with a sponge

First off, I don't have flawless complexion, so it's something I'm going to have to fake. So I ended up using the colour wheel that E gave me some time ago. Smooth everything out so I have a nice base to begin with. Goodbye pores! Hello Flawless!

Left to right: Put on your thickest foundation and smooth it out like your life depends on it!!

Put on your foundation, make sure it too has good coverage after the base is set and colour corrected. Set your make up with your loose powder and remember to add loose powder under your eyes to catch whatever fall outs

I primed by eyes with E.L.F eye primer first. I'm using pigments this time instead of my usual eyeshadows so I really need something to make them stick. The yellow I used for the inner corners will unfortunately remain nameless because I think it was a free gift in a baggy. But whom gave it to me I don't recall nor the brand since it wasn't labeled. Next I put on Mineral Mate Ancient Gold. This was a mistake. I swatched a little on my hands and it turned out light and shimmery but when it went on my eyelids, it was darker than I though. Oh well..

Just to fast foward a little, I applied Sweet Scents's Shamrock (one of my all time favourite) on the outter corner and Etude House's Teal eyeliner on the bottom. I lined my eyes with a Kajal eye liner on the top and bottom. I draw my eyebrows using Virgin Vie's Medium Brown Eye brow pencil and darken it with some black eyeshadow.

I soften the Kajal eye liner with MAC typographic and highlighted and blended everything with NYX Pearl White pigment. Add falsies and MAC Fleurry on the cheeks with The Body Shop's Shimmer Wave in Peach all over face. Lip colour came from a U2B lip colour palatte. Add some clear gloss.

Final look

I prefer the pale lips to the red ones but since I wanted to somewhat follow the inspired picture, I ended up putting on red lipstick

The blue scarf was a little overpowering(?) so I switched over to a white on instead so the eyeshadow colour is a little easier to see. This is tough for me to do considering that like what, 99% of Arabs probably has double eyelids and I don't.

Right: Last shot on the camera, Big Big Smileeeeeeee!!

Left to right: I used the 2nd colour on the top row for the pale lips and the 1st colour on the bottom for the red lips.
The colour wheel

Halfway typing all this, I had to run to run to the toilet and try to puke. I think the plastic smell of the color wheel was too over-powering and gagged me. This is the first time I wanted to puke from putting on make up o.O;;

Trumpets pls, FDC not so proudly presents..Ganguro Ash

YES, this is IT. Here it is, amidst the imaginary trumpets blaring, the FOTD that scared and will scare countless of readers into submission. After a good one week, all required materials ie.: Missing foundation colour was found and the look quickly put together. At a span of merely 1 hour and endless hair loss, swearing and cursings, Fleur De Cendre is not so proud to show you the ugly side of Ashley, the Ganguro wannabe.

A teaser :P
See the contrast of the white lips and tan skin. This was how tan I became

First up, if you're thinking, "Huh? Why is the white lips the first picture?" Patience, can't scare the readers too fast you see. Also because of the lousy lighting and camera, the rest of the pictures wasn't really able to capture how tan I was. Only this picture was able to thanks to the white lips. Also I never ended up with white lips throughout the FOTD because my eye shadow wasn't white enough and the lips were too white compared to it. I ended up mixing it to a super light pink. Gomen!

My inspirational pictures

A recap on those who might have missed out my earlier post on the look I'm trying to achieve; I wanted a cross between a ganguro and a banba. Banba have the so called natural hair minus the too obvious nose streak and white block make up. So this look will still be suble compared to the real lot.

On wards hooooo, mates! Items used;

Muh loot, using cheap stuffs as usual :P

Face
Red Earth Secret Potion
Kate liquid foundation in 'D' colour
DFCZ Stylish Silky Milk foundation
Elianto baked powder in 04

Eyes
NYX Jumb pencil in Milk
Silky Girl Yin & Yang
Givency Eyeliner
MAC paint pot in Blackground
Daiso Eyelash Glue
'Unnamed' eye lashes

Cheeks
In2it long wearing blush in Kiss
Testimo eyeshadow in PK-41
The Body Shop Shimmer Wave in Peach (not in picture)

Lips
NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk
NYX round lipstick in Naricuss

I used a combination of the above liquid foundation + highlighter on the entire skin. The cheap DFCZ foundation was too red and wasn't anywhere near natural looking so I had to mix it with Kate liquid foundation that I borrowed from Pinky Doodle Doo. Her's only one shade darker than my normal but it worked to tone down the redness of the cheaper foundation. Secret Potion was mixed into the whole lot because I didn't wanted the matte look. I wanted the dewy look and I know Secret Potion will work well as the shimmer is subtle.

Left to right: What I started off with, lookie me pimples :D;
After applying Kate liquid foundation first, a shade darker already :P

Left to right: I added on the mixture from above to my face, check out the streaks; another shade tanner

Left to right: The difference. I never put any on the neck to show the readers the difference between the face and neck so you'll know how many shades darker I've gone from usual; After powdering the entire face and adding on the NYX jumbo pencil in Milk

When DFCZ mentioned 'Oil Effect' they weren't kidding. My face ended up being very oily looking. Elianto baked powder could hardly absorb the oiliness. Not to mention, the powder and foundation was a major pain in the behind to blend in. Everything was kind of patchy.

Left to right: Smudge Milk on the entire lid, note that I forgot to add primer in my haste; Gently pat SilkyGirl Yin on top of Milk. Line the bottom of your eyes with Milk as well the using MAC Blackground, line your eyes

Left to right: Smudge Milk on the bottom and use an eyeliner to line bottom lash line. I used Givency eyeliner which was too creamy and thus all the smudges; SMUDGED! Had to wipe off and add more Milk and redraw the eyeliner

Left to right: Thicken the eyeliner on the top and pat on Silkygirl Yang, you can choose to soften the black by blending upwards or leave it as it is; Apply falsies, choose the super dramatic ones. I don't have anything too dramatic so I had to settle for this one

Left to right: Add some flowers to your hair and hope that you even look sane;
smudges on the top! How on earth does those ganguro girls not get any smudges everywhere with this look? How?

The pictures can't even capture how tan I was. In real life, I really ended up looking like a Red Indian wannabe, the type that even my mother would have problem recognizing me, yet it appears so subtle in the pictures. I hate the camera...

Left to right: Fooling around with some props. When bored, wear a hat or wrap yourself with your blanket. Heeee~
See the difference between the arms and face?

Left to right: ^%$#@! Gonna get Kern to edit the damn smudges out.

Last two shots on the camera. I found that by applying subtle shimmer to your face, it really does make it look flawless both on camera and in real life. So if you don't have a good face highlighter, do get one, you'll be amazed.

Finally, all done. Keep in mind that since I do still have foundation left, I might just re-do all this again when I'm free. I realized the mistakes on what should have been done and what could have been toned down. I would really to hear your opinion on this take.

Also before anyone starts accusing me of trying to act cute and all, do know that all this was initially done for a good laugh. I'm not trying to rock this look as I'm not even the Ganguro type to begin with. I'm trying to recreate this look to see how I would look all unlike me and tanned.

P.s: If you saw some of the picures, would you have thought it was me?
