Inspired Look: Leah Dizon (epic fail)

So what do you do when your boyfriend ditches you on a Friday Night to play Magic cards? You self entertain of course!

Firstly, to show off my new and improved cupcakes that I made. Of course, almost everything I do that looks good is usually inedible.

I decided that maybe tonight would be a good night to finally do the Leah Dizon look requested by Lisa from Shop and Chomp *gasp* back in Sept 2011! A thousand apologies, Lisa. And after seeing my take on beautiful Leah, I won't be surprise if you have the urge to throw rotten vegetables at me.

Yes yes.. I, uhh got sidetracked and decided to do a slightly different version of Leah. I mean, seriously, even with any amount of make up, I'll never be able to look anything like Leah. Maybe in my next life.

Not that Lisa wanted to see me as Leah herself but I really got sidetracked. I'm so sorry! Leah looks sweet and innocent in the pictures and I ended up looking like I just want all your money in mine.

Starting with my usual laziness. I have my office make up on. Mac PP Bare Study as base and Blacktrack as eyeliner. My pimples have healed after a damned embarrassing 3 weeks or so. Yay, now it's just Battle of the Scars. Still using Dermadex to clear up everything.

Thank you, Elyn for sms-ing me to tell me your HG anti-pimple lotion.

Cover lid with a light shimmery beige gold, I used Stilla's Wheat. Use dark brown eye shadow to extend pass the .. I hope the picture is kinda self-explanatory cause I just lost for words right now. Strange, that has never happen before. Haa...

This is the part where I sidetrack badly. Because I'm a monolid, thin eyeliners doesn't do any difference to my eyes unless I apply them really thick. Unfortunately, thick became thicker and thicker to the point of no return. Use a pale gold eyeshadow, I used Mac Nylon to lightly brush the inner corner of my eyes and extended the eyeliner.

Because I wanted flawless skin and because I am not born with flawless skin, I decided to use at least 6 inches of foundation to cover every possible flaw that I had. I used my MUFE camouflage cream to "paint" my face silly (just the upper half) and then applied my Bobbi Brown stick foundation of the rest of the face.

Stupid MUFE (KLCC branch), they displayed old, discoloured concealers that was probably there since the beginning of time and stupid me for not checking when the girl handed me the new one. Passed Elisa the concealer and she couldn't use it cause it was too pale for her so no prize who ended up with the concealer. Hell, it was too fair even for me. Couldn't return to make a big fuss since it was a 4 hour ride.

I did a mistake by powdering my face after that, I should have left it alone. Everything caked up like an old expired cake.

Apply NYX round lippie in Orange Soda and Smokey Look lip gloss. Put on extremely hot wig. Hot as in the temperature not the sexy hot kind. Start snapping pictures then realized I forgot the eyelashes. Damn. Remove wig, put on falsies, put on wig.

Close up of eyes. I wish I had money to attend make up courses *sigh* Thank God for YouTube.

Tadaa, went to show Pinky Doodle Doo and she commented I had the "meow mie" (a slang for cat) kinda face so I skipped back to my room and drew some whiskers on.

And I end my Leah Dizon attempt with this...

Lacy NOTD; Blue EOTD

Lacy NOTD

Bought the lacy stickers a while back online. Wanted it in black but they were out of it so I ended up with this. It wasn't enough for all 10 fingers. BOO!

A pity this NOTD didn't even last me 2 days. The Stage cosmetics base/top coat is good as a base coat. It wasn't strong enough to hold the stickers down and ended up with the stickers peeling every time I scratch myself. I'll stick to good old Elianto top coat for now. It has never failed me so far. Get the RM5 one, the RM10 topcoat sucks chicken ass since it can't seem to dry.

RE: Straits Quay Flea Market

JH: There's a flea market in Straits Quay on Labour Day. Want to go?
Ash: Yay! You like flea, I like market. Let's go!

Browsed around and spotted a vintage 1970's costume jewellery pendant (I know my spelling can be a little 'off' but we studied British English and not American English)

For something kept for the past 40 years, it still looks so pretty so I drooled and JH forked over the cash. Funny he happily offered to pay but dragged me off from a counter selling Melliesh and Candy Doll cosmetics by the hair. HMPH!

Blue EOTD

I think age finally caught up to me. I've been using less and less make up. I'm now down to sunblock, Sweet scents mineral powder I bought from Sue 3 years ago(?), blusher and mascara to work. Extra minutes to snooze is always good in my book.

Authentic Arabic make up

The reason for this look was because my colleague Jen, asked me why I don't bring my make up all the way up to my brows ala Arabic make up. Uh, for one, I don't have perfect features like them to carry it off. I noted that some people are able to carry it off but unfortunately, I'm not one of them. I have a lot of space between eyes and brows; to bring it all the way up makes it too dramatic for me and if executed badly, I look like I got punched in eye.

Observe but kindly note that this was meant to be an experiment, I have no base on and the colours are a little dull.

Bare except for Stila's Wheat and mascara. Add colours. Usually this is the most I'll put for the top part. This is as high as I dare to bring it.

Normal and brought higher ala Arabic make up.

Of course for Arabic make up, they won't just use blue. Their colours are usually bright, shimmery and contoured beautifully.

Line your eyes like you life depends on it; add falsies and here's the look. In the end, I really doubt I have the balls to use this technique with different colours all mixed in and think I can get away with it.

Ganguro Ash V2

Readers beware, you have been warned, the pictures coming up is not for the faint of heart. If my original version of Ganguro disturbed you, you might want to skip this post. Before you start thinking that I'm in love with myself or my own looks, note that I am the type who prefer to stay in the background. There are more things to learn by simply leaning back and observing people. It's often said, "Actions can betray a lie" and I've always been fascinated by people's personality.

The reason for all these looks is not to garner a fan base or become famous or infamous in my case but simply because I'm curious. I'm curious to know how I look like as a blond, or tanned or with this colour eye make up and so forth.

I'm the type to insist on having a hand mirror everytime I go for a facial or a dentist just so I can see what the hell is going on.

Onwards mates,

A normal me with normal make up + short blond wig; with long wig

I will never bleach my hair blond is all I can tell you, having to look like baked lobster - permanently is no fun. Both in real life and in pictures. But still, blond hair is still so pretty.. *sigh*

A combi or Red Earth's Secret Potion + Stila foundation ( too oily) and my el cheapo China brand foundation mixed together and Operation: Ganguro Ash v2 starto.

I had a bit of eyeliner left from earlier the day; Finished!

First, start painting your face like no tomorrow. Paint it with much gusto , using your muscles from your hand and torso. Whatever. After I finished painting, I powder my face with the Elianto powder I bought a million and one years ago for my previous ganguro look.

Since I failed so miserably, I'm not even gonna bother posting up the step by step by step by step pictures. Anyway remember to have a good laugh. Cover entire eyelids with NYX Milk and to make it really white, apply Silky Girl's Yin or any white eyeshadow over entire lid, I topped it off with NYX pearl powder in white for the shimmer look in the inner corners, not that you can see any shit anyway.

By now, remember to lock your doors, you don't want your parents to call the zoo for an escaped panda and get shot by a tranquilizer on the ass. Shot. Ass = No fun.

Using black eyeliner, line your entire eyes;

Round round baby round round, spend the night on me~
- SugarBabes

Top it off with black eyeshadow so that you don't smudge the black eyeliner round round your eyes and ruin the entire look. Next pick some glasses cleaning falsies you have lying around and stick that on. Make sure they are the type of falsies that when you bat your eyelashes furiously, papers start flying. And if you bat them hard enough, even your boyfriend might disappear.

I bought some God Damned awful eye falsies from the night market a few months ago and didn't know what to do with them. Light bulb flashed and I cut them in half and stuck them under my eyes.

Colour lips white and realize that white lips don't look good on anyone, mix it with NYX Narcissus for a pale pale pink lips. I'm too poor to by MAC Lady Gaga lipstick so I will have to mix my own. *sniff* I hate being poor.

Not having a good skin week. *glares at a certain someone* And if you are wondering why all my pictures are only showing one side of my face, I'll be honest and tell you that I grew two enormous very red and very painful pimples on the other cheek. There I said it. I'm so stupidly honest.

Doo doo dooo.. I remember that people don't like to read and only like to see pictures so here goes.

These are the type of lashes you need! Now stick them on and start flapping, err... I mean batting.

Why I will never tan myself, the above picture says it all.

Ps.: EHHHH!! I don't look anything Ganguro, I ended looking like an over baked lobster!!!! Fail, Fail, FAILED!

Dark Blue EOTD + thank you Khim Sun

Its been a long while since I got this lazy. There was so many stuffs that I did the past few weekends and never updated. So I decided to condense and cram everything into one tiny post. Yay!

First up, bought a new dress while out shopping with mom a couple of weeks ago. I don't usually buy outfits NOT on sale and this was no difference. It was a bad shot as I intended it to be for a make up shot. But anyway, this is how I usually look like on a normal day. The top of the dress has some designs as you can see but other than that it's down to the knees and a little flow-y and blue. I love love blue dresses. Dark blues, cobalt blues, sky blues all fit me quite well.

Simple make up due to lack of ideas

The dress inspired me to do a dark blue EOTD but working with dark blue eyeshadow to me was messier than black. Not to mention, the only dark blue shadow I do have is Stila I-have-no-idea-the-name colour. I bought it a long long time ago, yes the date of expiry has probably came and gone but I think I got it when I was still with my 1st ex and that was a good 6 years ago? Muahaha! I hate the colour because the drop out was fantastic, colour pay off was not that good and I just couldn't handle it. So for a good part of it's miserable life, it stayed in my drawers. Till I got the dress and got inspired that is.

Keep in mind that my first priority in this EOTD was not to get the bruised effect

The blue on the bottom was a little too much for me, had to clean it up and reduce since it gave me the "Ouch, I got punched" look. Not pretty

Primer to the rescue! Make the damn thing colour stick and not move like it's not supposed to. Anyway, apply the colour up a little over the crease (if you have any, I don't) then apply MAC Vanilla to inner corner and bring Vanilla all the way to almost the middle of the lids, it should soften the blue near the middle a little.

Blend the blue upwards so the lines aren't all that harsh. Pat in a little more Vanilla and then line your eyes with liquid or whatever liner you have to both upper and lower lash line. Add mascara like there's no tomorrow!

And ta-daaa, clap yourself in the back, you're done. Now take a step back and look at yourself, IF you look bruised, take it all off, throw the eyeshadow away after stomping on it and put on another colour. The end.

Left to right: Stila Tutu and i-have-no-idea-the-name

And hey, while we're still on the topic of make up, guess who bought me something. The only guy that has consistantly bought me something and the ONLY guy who probably bought me any make up who's not my boyfriend. Heh. It was to be my belated B-day pressie and it came with a very sweet card which says;

Men? Hordes? At my feet? *start using eyeshadows* Nah kidding, the colours are so pretty I have not even touched them. Just like Elyn's Stila's kit. All these babies deserves to be looked at and drooled a little longer before the opening ceremony.

Oh la laaaa, who made you so pretty, my lovelies~

Thank you thank you thank youuuuuuuuuuu~ The more I look at it, the more I can't wait to try it. *blows kisses*

Bought a couple of bangles with E a few days ago. Wasn't intending to buy anything, it just happened and ouch, it set me back by RM60. BOOO!

Because of the bangles, I was dead brokeeeeee. And worst, I still needed some facial masks since I broke (here's the words again) out after using some wrong products. So one fine afternoon, E, K and I met up for a quick lunch since it's been ages since I last saw K. To think, I used to see them everyday during work. So off to Perangin Mall we went, it's close by the office anyway and my masks were sold there. I had a budget of RM20 that day and I was to stick to it by hook or by crook and it includes getting my foundation, lunch and mask!

Pro-Q peel off mask in soy bean and red beans, the two things I dislike eating!

They were only RM9.40 for two and it's suppose to work pretty well, so I'm waiting to try them out and see. It was also in Perangin Mall (which I suspect is going to collapse one day due to the weakening structure. So if there's anything you wanna buy, get it quick, the mall is probably not going to last another decade) that I found the foundation I was looking for. Okay, somewhat of it.

Some foundation that I can not tell the company name with the words, 'Oil Effect' on it. EWWW, the colour was too reddish and I have a feeling I'm gonna end up looking either like a half bakes lobster or a Red Indian wannabe

E was looking for some hair scrunchie and hair clips and on the side of the booth had all sorts of made in China make up. It was not a tester yet the sales lady never said anything when I happily tried the colours on *snort*No one cried bloody Mary only because everything there was really cheap anyway.

There was a 50% off everything and so I happily browsed through. I saw the foundation and didn't like it since it was soo sheer but it turned out to be buildable. The funky part was if you rub the foundation after 2 or 3 layers, everything clumps up in a not very nice way. It was selling for RM3.50 so I got it. Can you imagine a foundation being only RM3.50? That's like beyond cheap! Thanks to that, ganguro FOTD is on the way!!!

P.s: Lunch was RM9, Foundation was RM3.50, Mask was RM9.40.+ I had to pay for parking which was another RM2. I overspent by RM3.90 *sigh*
