Half year Review

Okay Okay, I'm early but in a few days time, it's gonna be July anyway. Was looking through my blog when I saw what I posted up at the beginning of the year. Lets have a recap and see how I'm doing...

2010 Resolution

* Be happy
Uhhh.. trying but thanks to JH, it's looking good

* Do more writings
Nay, no time

* Donate money to SPCA and to the hungry
I'm hungry, can I donate to myself? But actually, I ended up donating to patients in need of Heart surgeries instead.

* Go for a holiday far from home
The furthest I've been in Penang Hill, oh wait, there was the Kl trip for the Magic Gathering Tourny

* Keep in touch with people I love
Uhh.. *embarrassed*

* Pick up a new language!
I learned, 'Sore wa chotto muzukashii'. Does that count? It's a magic word you see, everytime someone ask you to do something, furrow your brows and say this. They'll leave you alone.

It literally means, 'That would be a little difficult'. In other words, it tells people, 'I'm lazy, go away, leave me aloneee!'
Hey, I said it'll make them go away, nothing about them not bitching about you behind your back!

* Restart my Dream Home Project
Errr.. I think I'm saving

* Spend less on candies
Yeshu, candies makes me fat but makes my wallet lose weight. Time to stop!

* Spend less on cosmetics
So far so good till the NYX thing happened...

How is your New Year Resolution coming along??

All about NOTDs

I apologize for now replying to the comments lately, I definitely read all of them and I sincerely thank everyone for their comments. I appreciate your feedback alot. My blog never had a giveaway before and I was hoping to hold one for my 100th follower thingie but kinda realize that even after 2 years I have not reached that number yet. LMAO! But I'll have one soon in July since it's my birthday month and it'll be fun :D

I noted that giftaways are getting really complicated nowadays, all the follow me in twitter, do this, do that. My poor brain runs on 300mhz (just enough to play Tomb Raider 2) and does not compute. So I'll have no such thing. Anyway I don't own twitter and having a giftaways are a way to thank everyone for following and reading my blog, not for the sake of getting more subscribers that disappears after the giftaways are done.

Moving on, these are just a compilation of what I did a couple of past weeks/months ago. I didn't save all only the few that I liked. There was also some that didn't make it pass 3 days. Hee hee..

Harrow kittieeeeee~ kidding, it's black outlines Hello Kitty on bright pink background

Only reason I could paint bright pink was because it was done just a day or so before I got hospitalize to extract my wisdom tooth. This NOTD gives me bad memories..

Ta daaa; Trying on Elyn's flower <3

Then there was the Dolly Wink inspired NOTD. The black didn't fully dry and smeared. Blood pressure went up and it was gone in less than 3 days.

After deciding that it was a lost cause, I added a white strip just to see how it looked. From far, it looked good, from close, cringe. Received lots of compliments for it tho. Yay!

A couple of weeks ago, my cute little Irene (okay okay, not mine but Adel's) came from from Aussieland for semester break. What a surprise to see them there in GameForge again, How I missed them and their neverending board games.

Irene got me the BYS Cracked nail polish. Wow, I must admit that it's my first time even coming across something like this. So cool! She got me in red and white. Yay yay!

I painted the white base, 2 coats of it since it's going to get covered anyway and this was an experiment. Next, I painted on the red. The red was so pretty. I didn't even care if it didn't crack, I love the red.

After 20 minutes, it started to crack (pic 1) and then by 30 mins (pic 2) it cracked no more and I painted the clear top coat over. Voila. Done done. Colleagues thought I drew the lines on, but nah, was never much of a line drawing person. So pretty! Received lots of compliments for this look too, wheeeee!

Cut it!

As I was putting on my make up for work this morning, I saw my SkinFood Aloe Vera BB cream sitting on my dresser. It finished yesterday, I tried squeezing every last bit I could and putting it upright and all didn't produce any extra so I was about to bin it when curiosity got the better of me.

I wondered if there was anymore I could use if I cut it open. So I reached for the scissors and carefully cut off the top and uh huh, jackpot!

I seriously did not expect this much! It reminds me of the old UDPP complain back then when people had to cut it open to get all the extra out because of the shape of the bottle. But since this was liquid and I don't find any problem with the bottle design, I wasn't expecting another month's supply hiding in it; stuck to the walls and all.

Taken without flash and flash to show a clearer picture of how much BB cream was left.

Here I was squeezing till my fingers hurts and there's actually so much left! Sheesh, imagine the waste. If you're wondering what to do after you cut it open since it's unhygienic and plain crazy to leave the now "opened" BB cream opened. You can either transfer it to a separate bottle or container but if you're like me, in need of containers, you can just put the cap back on temporarily.

The will be a gap since it's not all fitted properly and might get dust or dry up the BB cream so best to start scooping/ scrapping everything else where.

There, I hope you save some extra money from this. LMAO!

When will I ever learn?; JH's rabbit dance

Like seriously, when will I ever learn not to trust sellers online. I have stopped buying clothes online after I bought this shirt that had one sleeve shorter than the other, the collar lopsided and one of the pockets was sewn higher than the other. A shirt fit able to be nothing more than a rag to wipe your feet with. Even then, it's probably useless.

Also the argument with the stupid wig seller and such. Sheesh, all these drama queens in the making. After that, I just rather swallow and kick myself in the *toot*. I've grown to old to argue with all the bimbos.

Anyway, a week ago or so, I ordered some things online. I bought a laptop keyboard film protector, laptop stubs to elevate my laptop (duh!), ribbon shaped hair whatever the name. Paid RM4 for the shipping and lets see what I got;

A slow mail that took five days to reach, that apparently cost the seller only RM2.50. Thanks for being untruthful but I'll take it that it's your petrol price to drive to the post office. I do sell things online and everytime I post something out, I tell the buyer the exact postage price, I take it that it's my duty as a seller to at the very least provide the effort to drive to the post office. Whatever.

I got a holey laptop keyboard film protector. Ha-Ha. Found this both hilarious and frustrating. I doubt I can complain about this to the seller since she'll probably say that I didn't tear the film off the cardboard properly.

I did checked though, the cardboard that the film came stuck too had no small hole left behind. Whatever.

The 4 little pieces of laptop stubs that came are uneven, so for now, my laptop is tilting to one side. If you think my table is the culprit, let me assure you that my table is solid wood. I switch the stubs around and yes, it tilts depending on where the slightly 'shorter' stub is. *sigh*

Ever heard of the magic fringe holder whatever? A hair piece that seems to have velcro stuck on the other side to hold your fringe up. Well, was looking for the for months and finally found a seller!

I bought more that that T.T

The price was reasonable too. So I got a few, I thought it would be nice to give some to friends. And when they arrived, I decided to keep all for myself. YESHU! All for myself...

&^%$#@!%$#@!

I don't wanna insult my friends by giving them something this badly made. Not in the mood to embarrass myself any further, thank you very much. God, this things were so badly made, I'm left speechless. Since I now know what these things are really made from, I'm gonna save me some money the next time and just use our office velcro and stick them to my head.

What I paid for an expected and what I got was a little...different

Looking on the bright side, guess this can ween me off my online shopping addiction for a while :D

For now, atleast I got JH's rabbit dance. Something he does to cheer me up whenever I feel down or gloomy.

Directions: Nod head, bend hands, keep them close together, bounce hands up and down, bounce hand left to right with a silly grin on your face

XD

JH: Love you

Now lets see how fast he sends me a message to tell me I'm embarrassing him. Nyahhaa!

Eye spy with my little eye and I see fine lines!!!

It's been a while since I last updated. Work has been keeping busy now that I am to head one of our latest products and handle everything to do with it. From scratch all the way to how to market it to the public. Damn that's tiring. While I'm at that, I'm to help out another department during my mornings that's short on hands besides doing my own stuffs. Please increase my pay! I need it for all the anti-aging creams I would need *sniff sniff*

One morning while looking at myself in the mirror, I discover I have fine lines under my eyes and I'm not even 26 yet! This can't be happening! NOOOOOOO!!

Then again, a few years back when E mentioned that at the age of 25 we should start using anti-aging stuffs, guess she wasn't kidding. Forget all the whitening shit or acne whatever, I need anti-aging stuffs. I don't wanna look any older, I've been getting enough nasty rumours about me dating a younger guy (They were referring to JH) when JH is actually 3 years older than I am!

Every time I smile, the lines bothers me T.T

I actually have a secret paranoia on eye creams, I remember that when I was younger, I bought Virgin Vie's eye cream to try and I woke up with a deep line under one eye. I was so pissed. A few months later, I tried it again and the same thing happen. I got so pissed I chucked the entire barely used eye cream into the dust bin. I regret that now since the bottle was really nice :P but after that, I avoided eye creams like a plague. I look better without it. But I digress.

So since budget is tight, (STBM - Sucks to be me) I search around for an affordable eye cream that I won't have to go rob the bank for. In the end, I couldn't afford Aqualabel by Shiseido and I wasn't too sure if the Pure Beauty eye cream was any good since there was no reviews yet, so I opted for something safe - Olay.

Hmm, reminds me of NYX's concealer :D

Olay total effects anti-aging eye cream (15 ml for RM48.90) that is suppose to improve dullness for a radiant glow, lessens the appearance of dark circles, visibly reduces the look of fine lines (pleaseee!), evens out skin tone, intensively hydrated dry skin, noticeably softens uneven texture, helps minimize appearance of puffiness.

Call me paranoid all you want but lines around the eyes are one of the easiest way to tell a woman's age; besides the hands and necks anyway in my opinion. Consider yourself very lucky if you got fleshy hands.

Please work!

I also went ahead and bought the ... hell, I don't even know what is it called but anyway it's part of Olay's total effects range (RM22 for 20g). It's 'designed' to replace your moisturizer and comes with SPF15. So it says on the box.

So starting today, I'll be using these items religiously till I see some sort of results. Preferably good ones. While I'm at that, I also got some eye mask to try out.

Bone Glue zymoden eye membrane, Dilute the fine lines... WTF?!

Damn, if I have read the name properly before buying, I probably wouldn't have bought it. I hate things that makes no sense. I don't wanna buy something that is as good as reading the Egyptian hieroglyphs. Remind me to name my products something no one can even pronounce like Ashley's Good Zxygmugcein eye patches super! that promises to 'rubber off' fine lines. Sheesh.

Collage Crystal Eyelid Patch

Lets see how good these even are. Wish me luck. Now excuse me while I go 'rubber off' some lines.

Liquid Liners; Revlon, MAC & Amuse; Nail deco

Since I'm broke and on a strict 'NO buying COSMETIC' budget, all I can do for now is reviews. Rummage through my make up box and picked out a few of my favourite and not so favourite liquid eyeliners.

For years, I refuse to use liquid eyeliners no matter what E said, and stuck firmly to my pencil only liners. But after a while, I got tired and sick of looking 'raccoon-ish' with all the undereye smudges. E recommended gel liners and my love affair for Bobbi Brown started. Till today, it's almost zero (not zero but almost :P) smudges on me and last thru all my tears and sweat. But that's for another time.

Left to right: Amuse Fine Liner, MAC Liquidlast Liner and Revlon Colorstay

I bought a cheap liquid eye liner to try, just in case I can't control my grandma shaky hands and poke myself in the eye or end up with some funky line on my eyelids.

I bought - Amuse. I didn't not end up very amuse with it, I admit. I love how thick the brush is but everything I HATE. The liner disappears in a hour or so and is not black enough. In fact it's gray. I don't really think I should complain tho since I bought this really really cheap.

But still, if there's anyone out there who is even thinking of getting this because it's cheap. I say, don't even bother.

Next, MAC Liquidlast Liner. I was not planning to get this but since I attended the MAC workshop and had RM200 to redeem, I had to buy something. I ended up with this as one of my items, I must say that I've used it less than 5 times and it's been almost a year. Not that it's bad but I have a problem with the super thin brush. I'm single eyelid. I need liner and lots of it. I found that the brush was too soft and too thin for my liking but everything else, me likey! From the pictures, you can see that the MAC Liquidlast liner was almost wiped off, but that's also because, it was put on last and had not fully dried yet.

Unfortunately, it's not cheap. Will not be repurchasing due to that reason.

Something wrong with the amuse, it has turned..watery(?) BOOO, I still had a lot left!
And no, I didn't start shaking the bottle only on the 3rd try, was shaking it all the while, the 3rd try's shaking was just a little more vigorous.

My favourite for now, Revlon Colorstay. It's matte black and very very back. Best - thick brush. Not everyone will like this of course but for me, it's perfect. It's affordable too. It's not waterproof so if water gets on your face, expect it to run a little. Lasting power is medium to pretty good. It doesn't last as long as BB gel liner nor does it do the David Copperfield disappearing act till about 7 hours or so later.

I'm really tempted to try the Dolly Wink liquid liner. But knowing that the lashes already cost a bomb at RM60 per pair. I'm not too keen on finding out how much this one cost. Damn, even their eyeliner pencil looks so good. Nay nay, must resist!

Talking about Dolly Wink, lookie what me other love got me. Thank you Elyn! After reading my blog on my falsies, she went and got me some. So sweet! Came home and saw a small parcel and went 'Huh?' I had expected a small parcel. Opened it and inside was 6 boxes of falsies and 2 nail decorations. Oo la la~

Heeeee~ doesn't the nail deco box reminds you of Dolly Wink's design? XD

So happy, one of the smaller box which reminds me of Dolly Wink contained some nail deco in shapes of roses! So pretty. It's made from rubber me thinks.

9 of it in light pink, blight green, light blue, white and medium pink

I have not thought of a design to go along with the roses yet but you can bet I'm jumping around trying to work my brains to think of something. Thankies Elyn!

Groovy Green eyes; NYX mini haul :D

Since I'm saving up for iLasik in Penang Adventist Hospital, I've been saving really hard to the point that I just wanna scream. I have not bought my self any new shoes, clothes, did my nails or hair and I've even stopped buying make up.

Even then, I'm still short for everything. I'm planning a holiday and just the tickets to Japan is the price of my entire budget if I save 1/3 ( I'm being paid peanuts - literally) of my pay every month for the next 6 months!! So me and JH scrapped that idea and decided to head somewhere cheaper. I must admit that I'm beyond disappointed but it really can't be helped.

Next month is my birthday and I need some money then to have the usual dinner with the Clubhouse people. *sigh* I'm broke for now on till God knows when...damn!

But anyway there was a few new things I bought recently, one of them my monthly commitment, (don't you just hate that word? I know I do) my contact lenses.

Q: So why don't you save yourself money by wearing glasses, you vain pot?
A: Being vain is one thing but the reason I don't like my glasses is because I have high power; high power = thicker glasses = heavy = Bad migraine.
Of course, me being smarter than most people had to choose a pretty heavy frame. So guess what? Extra weight! I can only wear my glasses for a maximum of 3 hours before I go on a rampage and snap people's head off.

Q: Make a new one, you silly goose!
A: I went to ask around but to make glasses my power, it's gonna cost me RM600 just for the glasses. And if I'm gonna get iLasik, what's the point of getting expensive glasses?

Btw, care to donate?

That said and done, I decided to buy my contacts from the Optometrist shops instead of online. I'm no longer wearing my Caring brand contacts (still my love and favourite) and no more fake GEOs. I don't care or trust what they say about it being original and all. Don't care if it comes with some fancy sticker, a birth cert or whatever, I'm consistently getting fakes and it irritates the shit outta my eyes!

I NEVER had eye irritation till I switched to GEO. Why I got paranoid? My colleague developed an eye irritation from contact lenses which scarred her eyes which made her unable to get iLasik done or even wear contact lenses. Don't want that happening to me.

Left to right: Groovy green sans make up; GIVE ME ALL YOUR MO-NEHHHHH!!!

There was some promotion going on for FreshKon. Buy 2 free 1 which means I pay RM100 for 3 pairs of contacts! Whee! I know GEO is suppose to last a year but I usually throw them away max 3 months. So anyway being curious, I ordered the Misty Gray, Perky Brown and...Groovy Green. Never tried green before. Hee heee!

Hmm, that reminds me, there has been lots of complains about FreshKon being uncomfy as well. It's either you like it or you hate it. No in between so as usual, different people has different preference and such.

Also, I'm not here to bash Geo lovers. I love the colours and it's pattern as well but my own peeve is that I HATE getting cheated and getting fakes. Worst, you can never tell till you buy and wear them!

My usual office look, I don't line my bottom for work :P

When I first saw them, my initial thought was, 'Looks dull' but when I had them on, I freaked out, it looks reptilian on my. I comfort myself saying it's only for a month. I endured worse. I came to realize that they look awful near but from far, they actually look pretty okay. :D

Under natural sunlight and in my room, yes yes, I had make up streak on my left picture, nyahahahahahha! That reminds me, I finished my jar of Bobbi Brown eyeliner T.T Of all months to finish, it had to be this. I use them nearly everyday for nearly a year so no surprise. Thinking that I have to give it up and buy a cheaper alternative, JH being my hero, bought me a new jar. Yip Yip Hooray me love!

Oh me loveeeee, you finished!

Now if I have not bore you with my tale of woe; broke-ness and all I have happy news! There was a day when I hit depression after months of denying myself anything nice, eating nothing but our cafeteria's depressing vegetarian food (at RM2.50 who can complain?) I was going nuts...

Q: How can vegetarian food be depressing?
A: Apparently you have not eaten ours... I kid you not.

And then, my 6 months review at the company revealed something. I misread a small clause in my contract and signed it! ARGH!

I.R.teh.smartz

Came home all depressed and bought my worst sin online... cosmetics!!
Was choosing when Elyn suddenly popped into my head, I remember how she likes NYX cosmetics so I decided to sms her to see if she needed anything. Damn, she's fast. In ten minutes, she sent me her list, I usually take a day or two to even decide.

I knew JH was disappointed in me for buying all this especially since he knew I was broke, but..but..
*whines*

13 days later, they arrived! MY BABIES HAS COME HOMEEE! Now before you smack me left and right for lying that I was broke, a gentle reminder that all these are not mine. Half of it belongs to Elyn.

And like Sue mentioned, there are like 1089273483595238460 post about these so I might not bother with any swatches. They are all over the net, just goggle them :D I have tried them on and I'm liking them, they are non-sticky. They have a glossy sheen to them which is nice and I don't know but I could have swore Sugar Pie smells of cough mixture.

Aren't they so pretty?! Looking at them makes me happy. The stuffs on the right is mine. I bought; Sugar Pie, Smokey Look x 2, Tea Rose, Sorbet, Whipped x3.

One reason I bought Sorbet, Whipped and Tea Rose is because I saw my idol, Eki using them for some of her FOTD. Bought Smokey Look because it was Elyn's favourite. Ahh so much for originality :P

Tea Rose came out a little dark for me so I'm a little worried. Should I keep it or sell it off? *sigh* Might wanna sell off Smokey Look x1 and Whipped x1 too. See how it goes...

Concealers! Hey, someone doesn't know how to stick things on properly!

Concealers are my former best buddies. Can't live a day without them. Then my face got better and they got degraded to 'only for special occasions/ for when I'm not lazy'. I bought NYX concealer before, one in yellow. I have no idea what compelled me to buy yellow but I thank God I manage to sell it off.

I wasn't too sure what fit me best so I bought two, one in Light and another in Beige. I read that Light was more suited for NC20 while Beige was more for NC25. I am a NC15, so why am I still so tempted to use Beige instead??

Light scares me because it's really pinkish tone while Beige is more yellow. I think I'm yellow although I've been told otherwise. Elyn, HELP ME! SOS!

I need to sell the other one off so I can't swatch them to try them on. Damn!
