Avon Peach Mousse Blush

Our company had a booth at this year's University Science Malaysia for the Green Lung Carnival and I was stationed there today. I nearly pass out from the heat. Was feeling dizzy and nausea towards the end of the shift and I thank God I don't have to go tomorrow. This heat is driving me nuts.

Damn, the list of ingredients were really long :P, I missed out the first part

Nearby our local Uni there was a shoplot selling Avon cosmetic and being curious of their latest promotions, I dropped by with my colleague, Miss C. We browsed around and I saw the mousse blusher. Temptation. It was selling for RM20 and I secretly or not so secretly drooled. Since I never had a mousse blusher before and it's been a while since I last bought anything new, I decided to get it.

The blush in Peach mousse; swatch

The total price after discount was only RM15. Wheee! Since it was my first time using a mousse blusher, I found it a little hard to handle. Worst the bottle was pretty deep; girls with long nails are gonna find this annoying but it'll be okay if we use a brush I guess, I used my finger instead. Guess which :D The one with the shortest nail of course; the one that broke. Hmph, so it's finally good for something afterall.

I love how natural the colour is on me but I hate it for the fact that it makes my pimple scars seem to stand out and it's a little too matte for my liking. LOL! But bought is bought so I'll be making this work, a little of my TBS Shimmer Wave in Peach should be able to fix this along with some concealer.

Oh the background cloth used in the photos was a gift from Miss C. from Sarawak. Going to make it into a skirt :D

NOTD - Muffin

Updates are far in between, yes I realize but my company has blocked my blogspot address and I can no longer log into my account during working hours. LOL! I know I wasn't suppose to anyway but still *whines* Guess I can count my lucky stars that they have not yet given me a warning letter.

Had a bright idea to do some NOTD but I'm not too pleased with the colour scheme. I would prefer a matte/creamy colour rather than the glittery/sheer one. But due to my laziness to re-paint my current nail colour, I just painted the muffin on.

Items used: Etude house nail colours and the pweety stones given by Elyn last year. My first time using it :P

My next NOTD would either have a yellow or light pink base with a blue cupped muffin. And this time, I'll try to remember to not do the muffin upside down like this one. ARGH!

Oh, I didn't paint my entire 10 fingers with muffins, that would have given me diabetes just looking at it so I painted only the thumb and the middle finger. So now when I give random people "the finger" I can always say that I'm actually just showing off my nail art. Ha-ha!

But then again, why am I so tempted to do a Hello Kitty one?

Oh me oh my, CURRY!

Hmm, this Chinese New Year was definitely interesting, I discover quite a number of new things.

Firstly, no new surprise, the weather here has been at a consistant 35-36 degrees Celsius and has been one of our hottest. The weather is unbearably hot and dry.

Ah, and there's where the fun starts.

Due to the weather (yes I blame the weather for everything) I broke up badly and my face was so itchy. I started suspecting just about everything from the Egyptian Magic Cream to Garnier Aqua Defence cream to my new BB cream, Dr.G. It was only when I went back to my fail proof, Estee Lauder moisturizer and Etude House Precious Mineral BB cream and was still scratching, did I realize all this has nothing to do with the products but my face.

So I used Mior. And it was the love-hate relations all over again. Love because it really did dry up my pimples in two days and hate it because it dried up my skin like the Sahara desert in two days. Two washes to be exact..

So many scratchings and peeling later, (a friend asked if I was a snake and was shedding, my reply, "Yea, ever heard of Madam White Snake?" *flips hair*, Nyahaha it's some old Chinese folk story)

So anyway since every moisturizer I had was making me itch, I ended up using my Orifera Virgin Coconut Oil which helped stop the itch and moisturize my face in just a few days! Yay C-o-c-o-n-u-t!

It sure made a difference to my face alright, especially the smell T.T

Since I was staying with JH, I had my not very usual bunch of skincare. One of them being a sample packet of the the Origins Skin Rejuvenating Treatment. AHA! For those that has never smelled it before, it smells of Lemongrass.

Lemongrass + Coconut Oil = Curry smelling face!!!

I'm serious. I took a sniff at the scent and wondered if I was dreaming when I thought I smell of curry so I asked JH.

"Do I smell of curry?"

"Yea"

I nearly died. Both of embarrassment and then horror.

JH later suggested we go for some Indian food for lunch. I had to ask if the smell from my face made him crave for Indian food. Thankfully, we went to Japanese food with his mom instead. I don't wanna go for Indian food and end up with my shirt smelling of curry and become a walking advertisement for Indian food.

If Pina Colada can transport you to a tropical beach paradise, try the above combo, you'll get a whiff of Malaysia on your face. I kid you not.

Chinese New Year + Valentines Day

Since the two days fell on the same date (14th February) it thwart my plans of some romantic dinner somewhere with me love.

No romantic candle light dinner somewhere dark and romantic, gazing into each other eyes while holding each other hands and having the type of conversation to make the people unfortunate enough to be seated close by puke their dinner out.

*sigh* Tsk tsk, what a shame..

Family came first for the both of us but in the afternoons, JH lured me to his uncle's house with the pretext of 'Come collect Ang Pow'. Met his side of family (huge) for lunch and yes, ang pow collecting.

Best part was as soon as I step into the house, my heel got firmly stuck in the gap of the sliding door. Fantastic! My face turned as red as my dress as everyone looked. Thankfully, his 80+ aunt came to the rescue while Mr. *ahem* Hero didn't even notice.

JH's prediction for the New Year: You'll be getting stuck on doors the whole year through.

Gee, thanks!
We celebrated our first V-day together the following night with dinner. A small quiet place in town, cozy and quiet (no one puked their dinner out)

I must admit that I really enjoyed myself this CNY. I loved everything about it and it made me glad that I could finally have both family and loved ones celebrating in Penang and not having to choose between one.

I didn't really get anything for V-day so nothing to show, hee hee heee.. :D

And after many many days of the Beauty Diary's Aloe Vera mask (which scared JH) and coconut oil, my face has started to heal. Yay!

Now, time to do something about the love handles...

Red nails for CNY

A friend asked me why my nails wasn't bling-ed for the Chinese New Year.

Easy, for one, I wasn't in the mood. In other words I was being lazy and looking at my very short nails is ...heart breaking.

Someone asked why don't I keep and trim my long nails and wait for the short one to grow to catch up with the rest. It's just one nail afterall. I hate uneven nails. I will never leave my nails in uneven lengths. My answer was, why not just cut everything so they will grow together? Weird logic but it's just me I guess.

Oh, why you so plain?

Another reason I didn't bling-ed them was because I happen to love plain red nails. If there's one colour that doesn't need accessories to stand out, it would be red. It still look so chic on its own. And to me, they look best with short nails. Unless you like the 1950's or something style.

Lookie, it comes with two little refills(?)

I got a little excited when I saw these and even more when I saw the price. Ahahahaa! So cheap! It's a tiny little eyelash curler for curling inner eye corners, or so I thought. Considering that most eyelash curlers don't fit my eyes without digging itself into my corners or smudging my eye make up (I curl my eyelash before putting on my eye make ups) Pinky Doodle Doo got them for me.

Of course, upon reaching home and tearing off the packaging, I learn a painful lesson. There was probably a reason why it was so cheap. OUCH! The eyelash curler was not curved, so it's pretty stiffed and trying to get the small thing into your inner eye corner is a feat by itself. The other being, no matter how I try to curl my eyelash, I end up hurting myself with it. BAH!

I have no skills, must try again, when I'm brave enough..

My Lip Stuff, Clio Duo eyeshadow, Dr G, hair dyed - finally!

I'm utterly ashamed to admit that I lost a lip balm of mine recently while attending a workplace conference. I'm ashamed because it was a gift from Kern. I had treasure it so much and carry it everywhere I go. It was the LipIce Green Tea Ice Cream that she gave me and Elisa a while ago. I was heartbroken about it and came home sulking and near tears.

I hate losing things, especially if they were gifts. I don't get alot so I treasure every little bit of them. Even more so from the people I love.

The lip balm that I bought from Thailand, Luminese or something didn't turn out all that great so I left that in the office to use. It was fine initially but later I kinda found that it wasn't moisturing enough.

Came across Sue of MyBeautyFeeds reviewing about Crazy Rumors lipbalm. I've always been interested in them because of all the Coffee and Tea flavours they had. She was doing a comparison between CR and My Lip stuff and also Vintage sisters. One look at MLS and I wanted them!

Oh me babies~
I gave Pinky Doodle Doo the Mojito one :P

A few days of exchanging emails later and a quickie meet up at Gurney Plaza. I was the super proud owner of MLS's Mango Sorbet and Mojito plus Sue, the sweetie gave me a super cool freebie, a vintage sister's Orange Dream!! I remember staring at the small plastic bag wondering if I accidentally ordered something. I was a little stunned. T.T

Thank you Sue! Anyway your hair cut is fine, I love it! Oh I love love Elyn's latest haircut too. Seems like everyone cut their hair shorter.

Elyn, me own you cakie! Your latest vlog nearly made me cry. You look so fabulous it in and it just made me realize how much I've missed you. Me love you!

Since Chinese New Year is coming up and I got bitten by the shopping bug, in my case it would be the online shopping bug, I spotted some stuff in Su Mei's blog that I drooled after. One being the Dr.G Brightening Balm and like Sue, she's a real life friend of mine so yay, no shipping!

Poor people like me have every right/reason to be a cheapskate XD

I remember she mentioned that I would be able to fit the colour and that it's pretty good so me being me, got tempted but after the whole Dr.Jart+ ordeal in which I had HUGE headless pimples for weeks because I didn't know what was causing it, I've way more careful with BB creams now

I was also very unsure on whether the colour would be able to suit me, after buying the BRTC Protect Multiplex which turned out toooo dark for me, I'm super paranoid about the colours especially if it cost alot.

She passed me her BB cream and happily I tried them on; I was almost shaking in my shoes when I saw the word Arbutin and Titanium Dioxide which was also one of the main ingredients in Dr.Jart+ I was worried that perhaps, I was sensitive to Arbutin or something. Luckily it was not it.
No itchyness by midday and the coverage is fine by me.

Name: Dr. G Brightening BB Cream SPF PA+++
Coverage: Fair - Medium (build-able)
Shade: Probably around Mac NC20-25
Oil control: So-so (not accurate as I'm using Egyptian Magic cream as moisturiser which is kinda oily)

This girl did a really good write up on her 2 cents on the bb cream, it was her review that sealed the deal and I ended up buying Su Mei's. JunyCherry

The colour comes out a little dull and dark but blends well into skin tone.
The texture is easy to spread (not sure if it's because of my moisturiser) and easy to blend. Finally something that can compare to Dr.Jart+ in terms of coverage and smooth texture that doesn't give me pimples. Yay!

Ta daaa, fancy cover but no box T.T

Me likey! Me also got the Clio Duo Eyeshadow in white from Su Mei. She was selling them for just RM25 each so after drooling and sleeping on it for a day, I bowed to temptation and got one.

Gold on the top and shimmery white on the bottom; Swatch

The gold is very pigmented but the white isn't so. She did warned me that either using a sponge tip applicator or finger would be best to pick up the colours. I do not own any sponge tip applicator so I ended using my hands, Using my usual Elianto blending brush wasn't very useful. The colour turns out not very pigmented on my lids. It's very sheer and it was okay for me to wear it to work without blinding people with my eyelids.

Since I had like close to 3 inches of roots showing, it was time for dye my hair again. The last time was a disaster so fingers and toes crossed for this one. I opted for something darker this time. Beauteen's Caramel Chocolat. YUM! I bought this some time ago while Watsons were still having a sale, so I got this box for a mere RM19.

Guess the time for me to colour my hair to something darker after my hairdresser told me that the 'in' colour is Dark Chocolate right now also I remembered JH mentioned he liked darker haired colour. *sigh* The things I would do for him.

The sad part was that due to the online shopping and unexpected Egyptian Magic cream, I couldn't afford to get my hair coloured and cut by my usual hairdresser. I really got my priority wrong this time about, I admit. No nagging allowed please T.T

My hair has grown so long and because of a 'certain' incident at the hairdresser the last time, I got a bad haircut. Or shall I say, unsatisfying cut. Blargh!

My Chinese New Year gift from Pinky Doodle Doo, ain't she the sweetest? She spotted the shoes and since they didn't have them in her size, she ended up buying them for me. AHH! I lub youuuuuu~

Just an ending pic to make everyone cringe. NYahahahahaha! The cracked nail that bled. I tried cutting it the best I could but for now, I'll have to go through the new year with this ugly looking nail.

What am I to do with it?!?!?!?!

Garnier Aqua defence, Egyptian Magic Cream

Hmm, so how have I been faring so far? Let's see, I've been quite injured lately, it all started with the ripped nail that bled alot, then the feet that skin came off and then there's the eye infection.

Sheesh, talk about unlucky streak. Not going to show you my gross eye or my feet cause it will definitely without a single doubt gross you guys out. It managed to gross everyone in my office out. I thank god, that healthcare here is really cheap and that I'm working in a place where medicine is free cause I'm super prone to eye infection of all things and getting sick. And I'm also clumsy.

I'm either forever knocking into tables and chairs like a pinball or tripping over my own shoes. I blame it all on the fact I'm half blind.

*sigh*

GameForge will be officially launching latest expansion, WorldWake tomorrow. I know JH is super excited. Got the Lightkeeper of Emeria, the latest angel to add to my growing angel collection. Hee hee..

You light up my lifeeeee, you gave me hope, to carry ooooonnn~

I have 3 moisturiser waiting for me at home, but I hate them all. I suspected that they have been giving me pimples. Been using the Estee Lauder Hydra Complete multi-level moisture cream, [God, what a long name] which I love with all my heart and soul except for it's price tag. So when I saw that Guardian was having a sale on Garnier Aqua Defense range, I rushed over to browse around. I remember Elisa and Kern mentioned that they quite like the range and it wasn't too bad so with my paycheck banked in, I picked up the Aqua Defense Cream. I got the cream instead of the essence because... I'm a bloody cheapskate. I got a coupon for RM4 off this one so I got this one instead. It ended up being really cheap at RM12+. [insert gleeful laugh]

I'm happy to report it gave me no breakouts. I'm a little paranoid ever since the Dr.Jart+ incident. The jar is solid and heavy and it smells nice, to me anyway. It smells of a little cucumber-ish.

Why does it have so many chinese character? I can't read them!!!! What do the wormy words says?

I'm not too sure if it's just me but I've been using BRTC Protect Multiplex Balm which was way too dark for me plus my Etude House Precious Mineral which is a little too light together! Both of these has superb oil control on their own so I'm really not sure if it's because of the weird combo or because of the moisturiser that my face is super oily.

It wasn't meee, it was already spilled over when I bought it!

I.reflect.sunlight,back.to.the.sun.enuff.said.

Since my last bad online shopping encounter, I've stopped buying anything but a certain something caught my eyes and after days or debating, I decided to get it anyway. Cost quite a bit, roughly about RM155 + free shipping (Yay!) It's been a while since I even spent that much on something online.

Ta daaa~

The Egyptian Magic Cream, lots of people have already done reviews on it and has some pretty good write ups about it, so I'm just going to write on my own 2 cents on it.

When I first got it, I was quite worried, it looked and smelled somewhat like Vaseline. I would have started killing people if I really bought a huge jar of Vaseline for RM155 cause I already have two bottles of that at home and it's been 4 years and I have not finished using them yet.

Since I recently bought the Hada Labo skincare, I didn't wanted to mix them. I was worried it might be too moisturising and I might end up with pimples. I don't use my Hada Labo toner in the morning since i'm rushing for work and I don't have time to spend 15 minutes patting my face.

I used it as a body lotion for the first night. I applied some to my cracked heels and all over my body and went to sleep. I must admit my shock when I woke up today and my cracked heel healed. I can't stop touching it wondering if I'm just imagining things since I've applied Vaseline then wore socks and it took weeks to even make my heel better. I'm amazed! My skin feels so moisturised too. Wow! It's a little sticky at first but once it's absorbed, it's still sticky but bearable unless the weather is hot then you can stick a note on yourself ala post-it style on your forehead.

But keep in mind that the cracked heel wasn't very serious. Just a minor peeling type.

Started using it as a day moisturiser before sunblock hoping that it might help with my skin, so far so good. No break outs yet. Ehehehehee!

Me loving it so far

Forecast for 2010

Annual Outlook for 2009

Rat (1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996)

While there are many changes afoot, the Rat will receive help from Noble People. You will enjoy smooth relationships with others, with minimal troubles. Where your career is concerned, you need to stay in your current company this year. Help from others will elevate your stature and improve the situation, especially for those of who have more experience than you. They will be able to offer plenty of useful assistance and advice.

With Mr. Roar just a few days away and Mr. Moo going on a holiday and will be back in 12 years time, I sit here and started pondering about how accurate last year's 'forecast' from various Feng Shui masters.
While I did receive help from my friends when I needed it the most, it was not a smooth relationship for me with lots of problems including a break up. Career wise was even worst, I finally and happily quitted my job and have not been happier since. Getting sms from people who treated us bankers nothing more than free workers or escorts was the worst feeling ever. I'm so freaking happy to be out from it.

As for elevating of stature, all I can say is, I'm glad my stature didn't fall further down from where it was. Overall, the forecast was too vague. Couldn't make head or tail nor did it make any sense in the end.

Rat

You’re not as lucky as last year. There are several unlucky stars influencing the Rat. However, there are still eight favourable months ahead. Your luck in career and wealth is good, but not in love and health.

Yes, damn I was unlucky. Ptui ptui! Luck in both career and love was the temperature of Siberia and wealth and health was pretty much buried under the snow as well .

Career: You have a lucky star this year. Your boss will appreciate your talents and you will get the promotion you’ve been eyeing. But it won’t happen if you don’t fight for it. For merchants, bankers and sales people, you will make more than sufficient money.

Perhaps this is true for some as I seen some Rats getting promoted but it wasn't so for me. Should have scratched my ex-bosses face and give him a fist fight to remember. Dang.

Love life: Rats are not lucky in love this year. For married people, you’ll have frequent quarrels with your spouse. For those in love, it’s not a good time to push the existing relationship to the next level. Your love interest could have a change of heart. For singles, set aside some time for social life and you might find a new love interest, but do not expect things to develop rapidly.

*Nods head while rubbing chin*

So true, so true. He had a change of heart for sure but it proved to be a lucky thing for me afterall. Kakaka.. and I did manage to find a new love interest.

Health: You’re vulnerable to accidents and diseases. Too much pressure and lack of sleep might lead to poor health. Go for an annual medical check-up.

*Pats her body* Still in one piece, thank God. And all the pressure and lack of sleep lifted after I handed in my resignation letter. Medical checkup says I still have anemia. Sheesh!
Bah. Oh well, it was fun to read them anyway, take it with a pinch of salt. Been a sucker for all this astrology stuff for as long as I remember. Will most probably be reading again this year just for the heck of it.

The Rat
Rats are charming, elegant and clever. They can be a bit gossipy and prone to being distracted. They’re also thrifty and very good with handling money. Family and close friends are exceptionally important to them. The Rat is charming beyond words and throughout his undoubtedly long life he will always be popular and will have many friends.

Forecast for 2010
The Rat may be feeling quite tired and deflated after 2009, which saw him keeping his head down, working and staying out of trouble. The Year of the Tiger is going to be fast-paced for the Rat, which in itself does tend to make them slightly uncomfortable. But it is essential that they go with the flow and seize opportunities and take adventures – this year is going to be important for them. A lot of Rats may have dreamt of travel in 2009 but were unable to take trips either due to financial or work commitments.. This year will be so different! Travel will feature strongly for many and if there is dream destination in mind, it may become a reality during 2010. February and March can bring interesting work offers, while June to August and December will bring happy social occasions. Romantically, September and October bring tempting offers for single Rats, while those who are attached will find the summer most special. It is essential for all persons born under this sign to be extra thoughtful and caring throughout the year – an inadvertent remark or gesture could lead to discord with loved ones.

Interesting Rat Facts:
