The Body Ship Shimmer Waves

While I was super stressed last week, I went out of my mind and bought something. And it turned out fabulous! Introducing The Body Shop Shimmer Wave! Oh the cupcake was free from Benefit, we didn't buy anything but the SA gave us anyway, uhh thanks!

Free cuppie cake from Benefit and The Body Shop Shimmer Wave in Peach
Ain't the cuppie cake so gorgeous looking? *dreamy sigh*

We saw this first in while visiting Mr.C in Queensbays last week and while buying the body butter for mom, we spotted this beauty just sitting there. Major drool. There was only 2 colours available; Pink and Peach and the top half of the Pink has broken off so we didn't get to swatch it properly. Couldn't decide which colour to get and since I'm super tight I decided to think about it first and see if I really want it in the end. Fast what fast? *mouthful of cupcake*

Few days later, E went on raving about how beautiful the colour was and how high the reviews at makeup alley was and how it was even better than Bobbi Brown's Shimmer Brick! E is incrediable, I didn't even ask her to check or anything and she did it all herself for god knows what reason. She then asked what highlighter I usually used and found that besides my MAC Mineralize Skin Duo (which the shimmer part has hit pan) I have no "proper" highlighter. My MAC Vanilla didn't count along with my MAC CCB Luna and RedEarth's Secret Potion (according to her) and it's time I get a proper highlighter.

Swatched the colours from bottom to top, The behind :D

So E, K & I headed over to Gurney this time to take a look, and it according to majority votes, the Peach suits me better as the Pink is a little too frosty. There was 10% discount and I went back self doubting and worried if I should have bought it. Sure the price is nothing compared to a BB Shimmer Brick but..but...*sniff*

Less than one day later, I'm so bloody glad I got this, it's worth every cent! I've really impressed with the colour payoff and how beautiful it looks on my skin and how it makes my skin glow and make me look healthy instead of a walking corpse. I can't stop smiling as I'm typing this, I'm so happy!

Took this in the morning while getting ready for work, only half done, and excuse the chipmunk face, I don't know why but guess my face is a little puffy in the mornings. Never realized till I took the pictures. And YES, I have pores, I'm only human afterall

Re-ment's Itoshi no Utori Sweets

Nearly cried when E told me my Utori Sweets has arrived. Not tears of happiness but more of 'WHYYY?!? I'm broke' kind of tears. E showed me the pictures last month and told me how much she likes this set and I wasn't all that impressed but some mistake happen and Uncle Tong ended up ordering for both me and her. *sigh*

I was comtemplating on avoiding Uncle Tong for a couple of days till pay day comes out but when we headed to Midlands for lunch, we stopped by and I thought, this month or next, in the end, I'll have to get it and so I did. Uncle Tong gave us some discount and looking at it closer, it is a very nice set. I love the muffin set. I love muffins! I love anything to do with cupcakes and muffins and candies and chocolates and coffee and tea and cakes and puddings and...

Oh cuppie cake, why are you so gorgeous? *stares at the cupcake*

Ignore me, just a another rant

It really sucks when you get the wrong colour of contact lenses and you know pretty well, you're going to be stuck with it for the next 2-3 months. My contacts are actually quarterly disposable by the way.

So why don't I just go exchange it or buy a new one?
Easy, the seller's in KL. I tend to buy it from my ex's uncle since it cost about RM85 and in Penang, it's about RM120. Not only is there a huge difference in terms of pricing but also, not every optician carried this line AND my power is actually extremely high, so high that FreshCon or whatever doesn't do that power. When I say I'm half blind, I wasn't kidding.

Anyway, had a good rest yesterday and went to work all bright eye and since I slept with my hair wet last night, I woke up with a good hair day. Weird huh. The only reason why I don't do that every night is because I'll get migraines if I slept with wet hair. Everything nice stops there of course. Got a good "washing" from a certain someone today. Left me totally "clean" and "white". My new title in the office would probably be "1/3 Queens of Low cost" Three guesses who the other two is. :P

Another washing due on Friday morning

I must admit that although the 'someone' is not happy that I'm concentrating on low cost houses I do not say no to someone who wants a loan to get a home. Yes, it can be considered that its not that good of an idea to concentrate on them due to the facts that rejection rate is higher as the bank is not into doing smallish loans that won't maximize their profits and we don't get much commission, it's in fact not even enough to buy a MAC lipstick!

But to my naive little thinking, a house no matter the price tag that comes with it, is going to be someone's home. A home they had always wanted as their own. And in the end, that's what matters to me. If I can help someone to get a home to call their own, my effort is never considered "wasted". I don't blame the 'someone' because I do understand that 'he/she' must be under a lot of pressure from the higher ups not to mention, I do like 'him/her' a lot. Always had. In the end, I guess this is all said for my own good...

I didn't create this blog to gain popularity, I did it cause I wanted a place to just write. My blog is really one of the only places left that I seek solace in. It's the part that keeps me the happiest. If I could, all I ever want to do is sit in front of my blog and just read and write. Two of my greatest passion, besides drawing and make up of course. Yea yea, I was a nerd and still is one. Was never embarrassed to admit that. No reason to. I am me.

Another thing that has been bugging my lately is how people just assume that I rely on my parents for money or something just as funky. I admit that I do not have any commitments. Yes, my car is provided but it's also shared, and I do not own a credit card of my own. Yes you heard me right, my card is subbed and I DO pay my dad back for everything signed. When I was in college, I do have a set allowance. A very small amount of RM350 and even then I managed to save my money and I don't ask my dad for extra. (I was really nice to the 'Hokkien Mee' uncle at the cafeteria and I usually got a big bowl of Hokkien Mee for only RM1 and saved alot!) But people always take a look at me, at my clothes, bags, whatever whatever and assume that I must have rich parents when I don't or that I rely on my parents. (I actually do buy thrift shop clothes and only buy clothes during sales, LOL)

Yes yes, all you poor people out there, admire my Boucheron Cygne Bleu necklace and urmm, blue diamond humongous earrings! It's so huge my head is tilting sideways!
XD

All the money that I've earned from part-time work (started working when I was 16 till my English teacher asked me to quit and concentrate on my studies) and all those time I saved so hard mean nothing cause people just end up stereotyping me. It's always so easy to assume. Like Mr.Oh always says, to assume is to make an ass of you and me, so please don't live your life by making an ass of yourself...

P.s: I DO NOT smoke nor drink and trust me, I save a lot from there. Indulge in your little sins and I'll indulge in mine.

Blue EOTD

I have a blue house
With a blue window
Blue is the color I bought that I wear
Blue the streets are
And all the trees are too
I have a girlfriend and she is so blue
Blue are the people here
That walk around

Blue like my car it's sitting outside
Blue are the words that I say
And what I think
Blue are the feelings
That live inside me

- Eiffel 65, Blue

Blue is the colour of the day. Blue in the face for holding my breath for something short of a miracle. *crosses fingers*

Used MAC Otherworldly on the entire lid

I no longer use colours this bright to the office anymore since it's a little 'distracting'. Not much people in my office put on make up besides the usual, foundation, blush and eyeliner so I didn't want to stand out that much by using too much colours.

I actually just piled on the colours from my make up in the morning, in the morning, I used MAC cream colour base in Luna, BB's espresso eye shadow and eyeliner and that's it. That was about 8 plus and now it's about 12am in the morning.

MAC Parrot on top

Dior's Sky Glow's light blue

BB Espresso on outter corner and eyeliner

Add falsies, it's actually not glued on and it's just placed on top for the photo

It's not really done done, since it would have been a nicer with eyeliner drawn to both upper and lower eyeline/ waterline. Forgive me, I'm sleepy and I'm actually suppose to be sleeping already.
  1. P.s: Congrats Elisa! I'm so proud of you!
  2. Elyn, I miss youuuu, where have you been?
  3. Naomi's purple contest is now voting, the entries are all fantastic! Go take a look at all of them! I've not made up my mind on who to vote just yet. Looks like Kern is in the top 3 already, whoaaa~

SkinFood Salmon Darkcirle concealer

Pinky Doodle-Doo is incubating eggs in her room. I'm just guessing since that's where she spends most of her time in since she's on MC till Wednesday.

Had a shock of my life when mom asked me to guess how much was her dentist bill. As you might know, my sister had two of her wisdom tooth pulled out in our local government hospital. Guess she's now only 1/2 as wise as she used to be. She stayed the night, early the next morning she had everything done with general anesthetic (went to dreamland via the sandman's express train) and got loads of medicine for the pain and all.

Mom paid a deposit of RM30 and was expecting to fork out a few hundred at least since if this procedure was done in the private hospitals the price ranges about RM400-RM700 per tooth, well, mom got back RM22. So that pretty much sums out the total bill for two wisdom tooth extraction + medicine + a night stay at the hospital to a mere RM8! (US$ 2.30 or 1.62EUROS)

My Starbucks coffee cost more that that...

Pinky Doodle-Doo also got a pretty cool barf bag home XD

Plastic? Incinerator? Uhh..okay.
It says Clinical waste to be dispose of via the incinerator (no idea what is penunu)
DANGER
Ministry of Health Malaysia

Bought some stuffs to cheer Pinky Doodle-Doo up.

EH Magic Balm, Skinfood's Salmon Darkcircle concealer, Bodyshop Body Butter in Passion Fruit, Vitamin E moisture cream

Was walking pass SkinFood when itchy eyes E went and spotted some new mask in SkinFood and as usual waltz in happily. Spotted the Salmon Darkcircle concealer and instantly thought of Pinky. If there's one thing I'm glad I don't have is darkcircles, but Pinky has very bad ones. Tested it out and liked what I see.

I found it weird that #1 was actually very sheer and the texture for some crazy reasons wasn't as buildable as #2. The coverage wasn't there as well. But for #2, the texture was buildable and it covers the veins on my hands (tested it there) quite well. So I got #2 instead.

Posted without permission, MUAHAHAHAHA!
I know my fonts are kinda crampy but it'll be freaking funny if I placed my blog addy on my sister's forehead

Usually, I avoid all SkinFood products as I find some of them a little 'useless' to put it in a reallly nice way, love the packaging though. But I'm really liking this concealer.

Cons of this is that it looks a little oily and it creases. As soon as I got home, banged on her door and woke her from sleep so I could try it on her. Not that she minded :D A few minutes after it dioxsidize, I notice a faint line on her crease. UGH! Of course, we are suppose to set it with powder and then pile on the eye make up.

Creases

The comparison picture (above above) was not taken in the best of lighting but the difference between the concealed eye and the bare eye is a lot nevertheless. The Skinfood Salmon Darkcircle concealer cost RM46.90.

Got attracted to the Bodyshop's big SALE sign and walked in. Bought a small tube of Passion Fruit body butter for mom since she loves them! 30% off wasn't too bad, ended up costing me only RM18

Next stop, Etude House, a must go and see place everytime we go to QB. Since E spent over RM30 there, there was a few things that we could get for 30% off. Saw that Pinky's Magic BB cream was only at RM30.03, called her and she said to stock up since it's such a good deal. The normal price was about RM43. The precious mineral BB cream has not yet arrived so I didn't get anything for myself. Which is a good thing since I'm so broke!

23/5

Finally met up with David and Dreamz from Singapore and they turned out to be really nice and friendly people. It was fun to hang out with them, no air of pretence and Dreamz is pretty matured for a 16 year old. Of course that made me and Padios felt really old and ancient. I really enjoyed myself with them.

The night was spent chatting about Penang food and haunted houses along with ghostly sightings and incidents. From Tengku Kudin mansion to Adorable to the the Vale of Tempt road, we shared stories and true encounters and who saw what and where.

Joined up the Clubhouse members at Torch for round 2 in ghost and funny stories. Was too tired to join KS, JS and E at netcity for L4D at 2.30am and so I went to bed and literally 'died-ed' on my bed. zzZZZzz

For non-believers, feel free to check out the above places. Forget the Relau Mansion, pack your bags and take a hike up Penang Hill to the infamous Brother's Bungalow or take a drive down to Bt.Ferringhi to Adorable, a gorgeous albiet a run down mansion with a promenade and it's own jetty. Take a stroll in Youth Park after dark, another hike to Coronation Camp, a visit to Tengku Kudin Mansion and do let me know how was your trip. Thanks!

Short update + Candies inspired NOTD

Been stressed out the entire week worrying about my sales or whether or not my customer will really come and sign the letter offer on Friday. Thank God, thank Heavens he did! That eased me a little, till I got the sms from Mr.W; sales staffs below xx amount of submission will have to face our SM on the 29th. Which is next week and I'm worried sick!

Yes yes, the guy who compared me to a potted plant. That guy. When he smiles and talks normally, he can melt hearts and turns heads but when he's constipated, he's ... constipated. And he's usually constipated.

Was supposed to meet up with BurningSunz today too, guess he's celebrating his belated birthday since I do remember his actual birthday being 6th May or something. I don't think he reads my blog but anyway, Uhh.. HAPPY BELATED B-DAY, David! He was formerly with the SPI, no, not the Sarong Party Idiots but the Singapore Paranormal Investigators, that's how we knew each other. I'm disappointed to know that the SPI canceled their trip down to Penang.

I'm also disappointed that I didn't get to meet him since I told him I could but I don't have the transportation to head over there anyway since I don't drive at night due to my astigmatism not to mention, Pinky Doodle-doo is finally coming back tonight!

Pinky doodle-doo is getting discharged from the hospital after spending a night there. Nothing serious, no one contacted the Swine Flu, she just had two of her wisdom tooth extracted in the Penang General Hospital that's all. Never knew they had that kind of service too. She came back looking all pale and vomitted blood which scare the shit out of me. But apparently, according to my parents, two foreigners were admitted to the GH for swine flu. Guess Malaysia is not Swine Flu free again. Damnit, if you're sick, don't travel!

So anyway since there's no special family dinner, like I thought there was in the first place (moved to Sunday) I sat home hungry and bored and decided to paint my nails. My gross looking nails.

I still hate you, you lousy-nail-staining-base-coat-that-does-not-shit-and-turns-my-nails-yellow, Etude House base coat! I hate youuuuuu~

Two coats of white, then slowly layer the rest in

When you're bored, you come up with funky ideas. Not always the best of ideas but ideas nevertheless. Again, I used the same old colours as the previous NOTD inspired by Naomi. This time, I call this the candies inspired NOTD. Whatever,

Elianto
White
Alice blue

The Face shop
Light purple

No brand
Light pink (Gift from Kern)

The final look, I have not clean the sides yet

Coming up next

This was initially done for some contest, after a good look, they don't look special enough so I'm going to scrape the entire idea *sigh* back to the drawing board

Avon Glazewear Lip Colour

Here I go again, after lunch today I decided that I wanted to go check out Avon, Elisa and Kern agreed and off we went. It's a little weird as to why, I've never bought any cosmetics from Avon before and I'm really not sure why I even wanted to go there. Perhaps the temptation of Avon Glazewear Lip Colour still lingers on my head even after so many months. I should never have bought the catalog home and put them in the toilet. I kept flipping through it whenever I'm in the toilet. That must be it!

My sinful indulgence
picture of toilet bowl from betterlifestylesinc

Inside the Avon store, surrounded by empty display cases and ugly deco, sat two ladies on the counter. I flipped through the catalog and found what I was so called searching for.

Full-color, high-shine gloss. Full coverage, lightweight feel. Moisturizing formula with vitamins A, C and E. Precision doe-foot applicator. .15 oz. net wt.

The Glazewear Lip Colour were selling for RM21.90 each! I gasp, I could have swore they were only RM18.90 each just a few months ago and they even had the buy 2 for only RM30 promotion. At a closer look, it was RM21.90 each but it was buy one FREE one. So it's actually just about RM 10.95 for one! Whee!

They were trying to clear stock I guess since the was only 4 colours left; Tickled Pink, Darling Pink, Honey and Peach Fizz.

With E's help, I chosed out Darling Pink (medium pink with gold) and Peach Fizz (Peachy Orange with Shimmer). It has a hint of Vanilla scent and the colours are actually pretty sheer. Both colours I got was pretty natural and I initially thought it didn't look glossy enough. But the staying power was pretty okay and it didn't flake off after a while so I was happy with that. I hate nothing more than lipglosses that 'balls' up and flakes off after a while and my itchy hands won't be able to stop rubbing them.

So far I have no complains, sure the packaging ain't all that pretty compared to Chanel or Dior's but it's really for a fraction of their price. The colours isn't all overly shimmery or glittery (at least not the ones I got) so I'll be able to use them during work without anyone staring non-stop at my lips. Not to mention, they are so bloody cheap.

In the end, the bill came out to RM19.70 for both. Imagine that, RM9.85 for one! I went out of the door grinning like an idiot.

Since it's my first time using these, I do hope to hear other reviews from others if you have bought this before.

Due to my wonderful laptop, I can not differentiate the colours between the 2 pictures, if it's peachy, it's probably Peach Fizz, if it's pinkish, it's Darling Pink. I'm so sorry!

EDIT: JeanJean asked how long they last and whether they dry out on your lips in a few hours. My answer is they last for as long as you don't lick them off. I need to consistently re-apply my lipgloss while in the office cause I like to eat so I have a tendency to wipe off my lipgloss before I eat or something so initially I wasn't able to tell how long they lasted for.

Came home
and fell asleep on my bed the instant my head touched the pillow, full make up on. Ugh. When I woke up, my lipgloss was still on and it still felt moisturising and suprisingly has not dried up or flaked off. It did feel mildly sticky but apart from that, there wasn't any complains.

Absolutely sinful Dior

"Forgive me Father, for your stupid daughter have sinned. I've broken my vow of fasting and bought something... a Dior actually"

It was 8.30pm on a Sunday evening when E and I was on Skype and she just had to show me a picture.

"Look look! It's so gorgeous, it'll so fit... you!"

ARGHHHHH, the magic words! My ears perks up everytime E says something like that. As soon as the magic words leave her mouth, my head, eyes and body will automatically turn towards whatever she's looking at and this time, she showed me a picture of Dior 5 colour eye shadow in Sky Glow.

Left to right: Muaha if you look closer, you'll be able to see my camera, my hands, my ceiling fan and my wardrobe; the 5 colours that repeatedly called me to sin!

So roughly about 9pm, E, K and I arrived in Gurney. Kern wanted to check out MAC Rose Romance Collection's Blush of Youth and E and I wanted to see the Dior's eyeshadow. Went rushing about like a mad bunch and finally, after a few swatches and 15 minutes of thinking, I got it!

Talk about the guilt! To think, I'm really broke and I just spend RM189 on an eyeshadow palette. But it's really so gorgeous! To me brands like Chanel, Christian Dior, Bobbi Brown are not something that I would consider, mostly because they are really expensive. I usually stick to Middle price range stuffs like MAC or lower because at least then it's still within my budget. I usually tell myself that I'm really not up to that 'level' yet. But I saw the blue and fell deeply in love.

bronze greyish-taupe, gunmetal gray, white pearl, teal/aqua blue, silver

It kinda makes me understand why my mom used to buy nothing but Chanel, CD and Estee Lauder's eyeshadows. The texture was fine and very pigmented, the colours are fabulous and when paired together, it's so oh-la-laa. I can't tell you how beautiful this is, but if you do go browsing around do stop by the Dior counter and check this out.

NOTD

Fail la

Saw this on Naomi's blog and became facinated with it. Went around hunting for the blue and finally found it in Elianto. The pink nail polish was a gift from Kern (Thanks!!) and the purple was something I had that was lying around since the beginning of time, not! but anyway its been around.

Thanks to my nails being so horribly discoloured and stained, I had no choice but to colour it white to bring out the soft pastel colours. I applied only one coat since it was an experiment. Two coats would have looked much better.

Till now, I have no idea how Naomi managed to do perfect little drops while mine came out looking like roti canai.

*sigh*

Divine Violet EOTD

I must admit, I really am not the brightest banana in the bunch. Hmm, bright bananas? Anyway since I'm on a make up fast, I doubt I'll be doing much reviews anymore, so I decided maybe I should stick to EOTD, then again, I'm really not that good. *sigh* Stuck.

I saw Naomi having a contest. Whee, that got me excited. Till I saw what colour she wanted the contestants to use. My heart took a nose dive.

Purple.

The one colour that makes my eyes look wonderfully bruised and swollen. You see, yellow skin really don't go with purple. It some how brings out the 'yellowness' in me. But I really wanted to joined it and all week while at work and while driving, I kept wondering how to create and what colour to mix with the purple so I don't look like;
  • a) Barney wanna-be
  • b) Victim of assault or something
So one a too hot Saturday (today actually) hot and bored I decided to do an impromptu testing of the purples. Tested it out carefully on my right eyes with the new technique Elisa been teaching me that for some reason I just can't grasp. 5 minutes later, I moved on to the other eye having already messed up my right eye. Another 5 minutes and I was at a point where I wanted to pull my hair.

I give up!

Having given up, I decided to just go ahead and pile whatever and do whatever just for the heck of it since I'm going to wash everything off anyway. Added the NYX pearl mania power in lilac, the one colour I would usually avoid since it's somewhat violet. EEch on my skin after that added MAC Paint pot in blackground since I don't wanna waste my BB gel liner. Put MAC Typographic on top and it wasn't black enough. So I drew everything with the eyeliner Elyn gave me, Bourjois Crayon eye pencil. Took a step back and hey, it wasn't that bad!

Looking down shot

Slap on Kate foundation on half of my face along with Dodo Palgantong loose powder, MAC Blush of Youth and took the pictures and cross my fingers that this do.

Now what to do with my messed up right eyes? Oh lets just try to make it look even with the left. 7 minutes later, I ended up a *ahem* 'somewhat' similar left eye. Hee hee.

Left to right: Without falsies so it's easier to see the colours, with falsies

Of course, me being me. I had a super strong coffee just before I started everything so by the time I tried putting the lashes on, my hands were shaking very badly. Serves me right! I hadn't had strong coffee for a while now so I didn't expected this. My lashes came up a bit funny thanks to my shaky hands, the lip sticks part was worst, I started dropping things. ARGH!

Overall, look, I finally remembered to wear my lipstick!

But anyway, all's done. Now I'm left wondering if I should even submit something like this to Naomi. *scratch head* I doubt I'll be doing this entire look again... *sigh* I'm stuck again.

Since it was an impromptu testing, I didn't use my usual stuffs much

A little info
I wanted to use as little products as possible mainly because I do realize that there are a lot of people out there (including me) that don't own a lot of make up and don't have like over 10 eyeshadows in one particular shade. I also want to keep the look somewhat easy to duplicate so just about anyone can try this look on their own. I know Naomi requested for a wearable look and I wanted to make this wearable daynight that can also be transcribe (is that the word?) to a night time look easily just as well.

Items used:

Face
Kate Foundation (don't ask me what colour, I can't read Japanese and it's NOT the usual one I use)
Dodo Palgantong loose powder
MAC Paint pot in Otherworldly
MAC Paint pot in blackground
MAC e/s in Typographic
MAC pigment in Vanilla (my fav!)
MAC pigment in Lovely Lily
Bourjois Crayon eye pencil
NYX pearl mania in Lilac

Cheeks
MAC Blush of Youth (not in picture)

Lips
Christian Dior (I forgot what colour, it's broken and saved else where)
Lancome Juicy Tube in Peche

This is just for a good laugh, look how close my eyes can be!
I'm a natural cross eye!

I was kinda inspired by the dress, it belongs to my sister and it's really very short (just perfect for her) It's just a dress that I absolutely love but can't wear

MAC Rose Romance + Pinky doodle doo

This past week has been bloody hectic. I've been staying back in the office and I come home only to literally drop dead on the bed. My body ache all over and I'm starting to get panda eyes. It was also in the office when E, K and I were discussing our skin condition and I realized that being fair, I'm the most prone to get pigmentation. E agreed and asked me to take care. Inside my little head, I panicked a little and as soon as I got home, I was looking through all my mask for some thing that could lighten my already existing pigmentation.

I saw some potatoes hanging in the kitchen. That solves everything! Sliced the potatoes and had my very own, 100% natural potato mask. Before you start thinking that I've gone koo-koo and wasting potatoes, I must tell you that I'm not koo-koo just a bloody damned cheapskate.

Ta-daaaa, muh won-tau-ful potatoes, sliced and ready to be used!

I'm pretty sure that some of you have probably used this before but for those who don't, let me explain, potatoes are good source of vitamin C, B6, potassium, and traces of thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, phoshorus, zinc, folate, magnesium and iron. They also contain phytonutrients that has anti-oxidents properties.

Crushes pulp mixed with honey is said to be good for curing pimples and spots on the skin and can even be applied to burns. Potatoes also help reduce dark circles and works well to brighten the skin. So that's one reason I've been applying them on the face and rubbing them all over my face. Since I've only used it for 2 days, I can't say for sure that it's super good or anything, as everything natural, it takes a week or so to really show any results. I do believe that the results will be rewarding, not to mention, I'm just sick of using my usual mask...

Moving on, I saw someone selling MAC Cash Flow from the Fafi Collection online and got it! I'm not sure why, since I don't really take gold colour all that well (I'm kinda yellow >.>) but since it was cheap and I've always been curious about it since I first laid eyes on it, I bought it and ta-daa, here it is.

Oh yea, although Cash Flow looks really scary to me in the bottle, when applied, it doesn't look all that scary. The colour sinks in and after a while it's actually quite subtle. To me anyway..

MAC Cash Flow

Left to right: MAC Bare study vs Cash Flow

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Can you even see any shit?

Products used:
  • MAC Cream Colour Base in Luna (primer)
  • MAC Vanilla (inner corner + brow bone)
  • MAC Cash Flow (entire lid)
  • Bobbi Brown Espresso (outter corner lid)
  • MAC Blackground (as liner since BB's gel eye liner was a bit of a hassle to wash off later - lazy)

Yes, I look like a mess. Everything is bare except my eyes, I even have a mask on the lower part of my face while doing this look! It was a major pain in the behind to take this picture since the colour was so difficult to capture. It comes out looking washed out till I had to catch it with flash. And the flash made me look kinda tanned, o.O;

I now sit here and wonder how the rest of those make up bloggers does it. How do they capture such beautiful pictures seemingly so effortlessly. Is it my lighting or the camera? Both? What kind of lighting should I use? I know the best is always natural lighting but the only time I'm free to do this is during night time.

I don't particullary know how to handle my eyes even after 10 years of playing around with my eyes. Yes, I started make up when I was 15 years old and have never looked back. Of course back then, I had to learn bit by bit since there was no such thing as searching YouTube and there was hardly any good make up books and even if there was, there was hardly any good products. Watsons mostly only carried Revlon, Loreal, Maybelline and Wet n Wild.

Everything was learnt through trial and error. Painstakingly slow and took us so much time to even learn about ingredients.

Anyway, E gave me a call while I was happily drooling on my bed and told me she wanted to check out MAC Rose Romance Collection. My eyes opened wide. For one thing, E is not a MAC fan so it came as a surprise. Two, I've been wanting to check it out for a good two weeks and kept forgetting to. So drove out, picked her and happily went 'kai-kai'.

Rock hard and it's actually turns up on my skin quite nicely, yay!

I ended up getting the beauty powder which I intend to use as a blusher I wanted, Blush of Youth instead of Summer Rose. On the official MAC website, Blush of Youth is described as clean pink with gold pearl and it turns out a nice shade of peachy pink and gave me a natural flushed look. I didn't bother with any swatches since the colour does not turn out on the hand but comes out beautifully when applied to our cheeks. We were initially a little worried that the colour was too sheer and doesn't turn up at all but we later learnt that the colour needs to be build up and when our cheeks heats up, the colour shows up more.

I tried Summer Rose, a soft violet pink with pearl, on the other cheek and I guess since the colour was quite sheer, it was almost identical to the Blush of Youth.

I'm really happy with my purchase. If you noticed, I usually only get one or at most two items from some collection that catches my eyes, although I do love MAC because it's cheaper compared to Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, Chanel etc. I do not believe that I have to get everything from every collection. I'm not a make up artist and thus I don't need all the colours in the world, I just need them for myself.

Oh, Pinky Doodle Doo's bird err.. I mean birthday falls on Mother's Day every year, so we have somewhat of a double celebration. Usually we'll head out and eat in our usual Japanese restaurant that we have frequent for the past 10 years.

Pinky decided to get mom something this year and was debating whether to get her a pendant (as we do almost every year) or flowers. I chosed a pendant because unlike flowers they don't die but Pinky argued that every girl secretly love to recieve flowers. So we got her flowers instead. I don't usually recieve flowers so perhaps I didn't understand how big impacts were flowers to girls. Geeze, I' so numb.

I've always thought that the day I die would be the day I recieve lots of flowers. I've only recieved flowers twice I think, once from some guy and another during my graduation day.

For our dearest mummy
