IJM Launching + Re-Ment

A big big Happy Birthday to both Paddios and Chiat (12/3), the dinner was great, thanks! We enjoyed the food and the company.

Went to IJM on Saturday for The Summer Place launching after months and months of being M.I.A, as usual, by the time we got there at about 9 plus, there was already a looong line of people in queue to get into the IJM showroom. I forgot to bring the camera but luckily Kern did so most picture we took are with her. We weren't able to get in as we weren't the panel bankers so we queued up on behalf of Kern's friend Lawrence who wanted to buy a unit.

IJM The Summer Place

It was a bloody hot day and some bankers from our rivals banks was there. Damn that E*** for looking at us smugly and telling us how we weren't able to do the loans anyway. ARGH! I wasn't too sure if I wanted to strangle him or our bank for not getting the EF for the project. But in the end, I just wanted to kick myself. *sigh*

The pic is blurry cause I took it from the broucher with my camera. If anyone's interest, they can either mail me or give Jacky/ Yew San a call for the price list

I must admit that one look at the broucher and I was hooked, it was beautiful! Even I was left drooling at the pictures and thinking on taking a loan to buy it up. I didn't expect it to look that good, I must admit. The best I can do now is to work my ass off and earn enough for IJM's next project, The Autumn or Winter something in the future. Not confirmed but hey, if the first 2 projects are called, Spring and Summer, the next has to be called Autumn and Winter, right?

A big thank you to Florence, a lady I met while queing up and Su Lin for the price list.

We left about 11am plus and even then the line where we were standing weren't even close to the door yet. So Kern and I went off to Tesco to do some grocery shopping before meeting E for lunch in Midlands.

It turned out to be an expensive lunch as I spotted and bought;

Re-ment Pink (something or another) and the 50's Cafe

The Re-ment's Pink set was ordered online by Elisa for me as I was unable to get it at our usual spot. Thankie E dearie. The 50's Cafe was an impulse buy. I've always liked it but it never occured for me to buy till that day. I'm not sure if I'll live to regret it but oh well...

The Springs Condominium, Penang

Ahh, after the long wait, it's finally re-opened for non-bumis. I know that lots of people are anxiously awaiting the re-opening after 4th of May and it's finally reopened on the 20th of December. Till today, E stills tells me about how crazy it was during the first launching. People queue-ing since 3am+ and even during the PISA fair when people would approach the IJM booth and complain that they didn't manage to get a lot. It's a good investment as the price has gone up quite a bit from the first launching.

Anyway to those interested, some quick info;

The Springs Condominium by IJM Properties Sdn.Bhd. It's along the Jelutong Expressway which is between town area (Georgetown) and Bayan Lepas. It roughly has about a total of 396 units ranging from 925 - 1,281 squarefeet with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It's leasehold and has a panoramic view of the Penang Bridge.

Those who are interested can also hop over to IJM land located near E-Gate and Tesco for more info.

Trishaw ride, whee!

Had a free trishaw ride today and damn it was fun! Juanita Chin from Reapfield published her book today and she invited us female banker to sit on trishaws to help advertise her book. And so we did. So halfway around Gurney Drive area, Elisa and I (E sat next to me in a very small Trishaw) started cam whoring much to our own amusement or to any cars passing us by.

Being from Penang where at the very least trishaws still exist, I hardly remember when was the last time I sat in one. I've always felt extremely guilty whenever I see how thin the poor old man peddling a fatty like me. It just felt so wrong. But the wind in your hair and the sun on our faces and the unexplainable feeling of not having any doors(?) makes an occasional trishaw ride fun and exciting. Definitely one of those few things you must try at least once in your life!

Anyway we did the Biotherm face test with a little bit of a shocking results. Me and Elisa had used coconut oil as moisturizer so the test results for my sebum was a shocking 98%!! Is that high? That's as good as me falling face first into a tub of oil! I was shocked out of my panties! It was only when E mentioned that her results were almost as high as mine that we figured it was because of the coconut oil. Also like I've always suspected, my pigmentation is going to be quite a problem as I age. The only good thing was that my face elasticity was a good 99% and that I don't and won't be having wrinkles all too easily. Finally, something good from the family genes. So that really got me thinking, I kept wondering if I see myself having Botox when I'm 50...

Anyway the only thing I bought was the Biotherm's Source Therapy for RM185. I don't own any serum so it's a much need thing for my dehydrated skin.

Nov 30

I'll be hoping to avoid Gurney Plaza for the next few weeks, thanks to the school holidays, Gurney Plaza has become a war zone. It was pure pure mayhem! My sis and I got stuck in Gurney Plaza for half an hour in the freaking carpark trying to go out! By then, all of everyone's card went pass the 15 minutes time limit and had expired and security had to come in and direct traffic.

Boulevard of broken dreams feet

1/10
How did I spend my first day of October and the first day of Hari Raya? Easy, I spend it in a shopping mall of course. Doing a roadshow I'm not paid for and standing there like a doofus for about 6 hours. Wheee!

It's not for IJM this time but for Reapfield. I must admit that I'm not too close to them and I have not service them before this but since Elisa was doing it, she asked me along, partly for my own good that I'll hopefully get some leads from them and partly to accompany her. As our motto in friendship is if anything, "We bersama-sama ..." [insert in: cry, laugh, suffer, get in trouble, etc]

But so far;
potential leads = 0
Sore feet = 2

Not to mention, I was really blur that day. My sister left for an eight day trip to Singapore early that morning so she woke me up before she left with hugs and kisses. I think my body was in Gurney and my head was still at home happily under the blanket.

But the people I worked with was nice, it's nice to meet nice people and work with them. The only thing I wasn't all too happy about was there was too many bankers around, more bankers than there was sales staffs, it wasn't much of a problem as they were all very nice just as well but there was these two girls from a certain local bank that made me wanna scream. We could all see that they were new but they arrived late but armed with nothing but their own brochures and happily passing it to my customer when I was explaining half way...

Talking about IJM, we recently visited Jacky with some desserts (I didn't buy much since I were broke) discovered that Mr. Macho can actually sing! He won a couple of competitions and usually sings for his supper I meant sings during the Hungry Ghost Festival.

Guess he must have plenty of fans both alive and dead. Er, good for him.

Dear diary,

Today I POKAI ar, I slipped on a piece of plastic file on my floor and fell! I bruised both my knees badly and both the palms of the hands. My bruised is now the the size of approximately RM0.50 x 4 = RM2.00 in total. Its been some time since I last fell this badly.

What happen was, Elisa called my last minute and I was in a rush to get dressed and was hopping around in a rush when I failed to notice the piece of fallen see-through plastic file and ta-daaa, I flew, was airborne for a few seconds before crashing down. It's really time like this that I curse my new gained weight. The worst/best thing was that I was a few centimetres from hitting my face squarely on the side of my luggage. I then when to Gurney half laughing at my stupidity, half crying from pain. Of course, Elisa will having nothing to do with my whinning. Elisa = heartless!

Ashley

P.s: Oh I finally bought Stila's eyeshadow in Wheat.

Okay, the truth is my legs are actually uglier than that so, hee-hee...

The only thing I wanna do now is lie on my bed and whine non stop to my pillow or to my mom or to anyone who'll listen. Sakittt-nyaaa! Sakit sakit sakit! I'm going to have the ugliest knees in the entire office on Monday. OH NOOO!

P.S: My sister took the camera to Singapore so no pictures for a while... thus my sucky drawing.

Visiting IJM

A short update:

Went to visit IJM a few days after the launching. They have moved from the Citibank building (Sorry I forgot the name of the building) to near Tesco. Their new building is 3/4 surrounded by glass and it looked fabulous! The sun shining in without it being overly hot and the place looking immaculate and clean. Hell, I really don't mind working there. I didn't dare to take pictures of the entire place so no pictures to provide and readers will have to use your own imagination.

I find it really hard to believe that Yew San, Jacky's colleague is urmm.. way older than I had first thought. It's so unfair! How come guys can still look good without having to use all the anti-wrinkling and firming stuffs that we females are so dependent on. *waves fist at Jacky and Yew San*

While Jacky is funny, I must admit that I can never tell when Yew San is telling the truth or not. He's the super macho and super cool type of guy and I quote from Elisa, the very man type. Muahaha! No pictures too. Sad.

Here's Jacky teaching Elisa how to use the new coffee machine at the office

This is what happens when you're bored and you decide to vamp up your nails

When I first painted my french manicure, it was so that I could paint animal prints on it. It really didn't turn out as nice as I saw on Youtube. I suck! Well, there's always a first for everything. Giffafe prints are no fun and bloody hard to do, the next time, I'm gonna stuck with Zebra prints. That'll be much easier!

The brush I use to paint the prints with

Property Fair in Penang

It's been a hectic week for me, lots of running around like a headless chicken. I'm already very close to my third month and I'm still no where close to my confirmation target. I'm still spending most of my time building repertoire with the developers, agents and lawyers.

The highlight of the week was working in the Property Fair in PISA as odd as it sounds, I had lots of fun. Being there on Friday and being as blur as 'sotong' I walked around aimlessly as I there alone while Elisa and Kern was having delicious luncheon with their lawyer, Ms Wong at the E&O eating smoked salmon and oysters while I was eating a tasteless char koay teow in PISA. So while walking around after lunch, I caught sight of one of IJM's sales advisor, Jacky Chan (Seriously that's his name). I was super lucky that he remembered me from Elisa's blog as he's a frequent reader. LOL!

So I requested to hang around their booth and basicly be a parasite. If any 'potential' customers were to approach IJM regarding their property, we were to intoduce ourselves and hopefully get some sales if they needed a housing loan.

Oh la la~ The Summer Place Condominium

So while hanging around, I learnt of their new upcoming projects such as The Summer Place Condominium. It's along the Jelutong Expressway and is currently open for registration only. It'll be launching sometime near Jan of next year if I'm not mistaken. IJM's The Spring Condominium was sold out in hours after launching with people queueing up as early as 3am in the morning, I wonder how the sales will be like for The Summer.
Read Elisa's blog here about IJM The Spring launching

I wish IJM would have more projects in Tg. Tokong or Tg. Bungah side.

Time passed by really fast on Saturday while working with Elisa and Kern, Elisa was required to service Plenitude a new up and coming developer that will be developing Feringghi Heights next to Sri Sayang. The price tag is a little scary but it another drool-worthy eye candy condo.

It's been some time since I last worked at a roadshow and I guess I've forgotten how fun it used to be. I remember a few years back how Elisa and I loved to work in roadshows because of the pay and flexibility. It's usually just 2 or 3 days work and it was fun. I don't really have a problem talking to complete strangers and I've during my stinct with IJM, I forgot that I was working for a bank and was happily getting people to register for The Spring and Summer Place. But I must apologize to Jacky if I was being a pest that day.

It was relatively stress-free till it was time to get home. OH BOY, I was bloody glad that Elisa and Kern carpooled with me that day so I wasn't lonely, it rained non-stop the entire day and the roads were flooded and jammed bumper to bumper. We left at 7 pm only to reach home a good 1 1/2 hours later on a usual 35 minutes ride.
