One year anniversary! Whee!

Dear JH,

Has it really been a year? Time really flew for us hasn't it? I really enjoyed my time with you and thank you for always being my knight. Through out our one year together, you never really changed did you? You remained who you are, you still happily wore your slippers everywhere, made me laugh crazily, pull my hair in frustration and love you madly. I must admit that while you're still as unromantic as ever, you're everything I want; Caring, patient, generous and loyal ( I hope XD).

One year ago, you asked me to be yours while we sat on the swing over looking Penang up in Penang Hill. I never regretted my decision.

I'm not sure how long you'll remain mine but I do hope to enjoy every moment I have with you, whether it's just playing WoW, reading, resting next to each other. JH, thank you for taking care of me. I promise to do the same.

-Ash

Whee, me and JH's first anniversary together and we had our dinner at Miraku, G-Hotel. The place where we went for our first and only movie date? Didn't expect the long queue but the food is still as great. A little too much but delicious. Need to try something else besides the tempura though...

Forgot to thankie for the wristlets. Thank you, me love them!

After one month, I finally replaced my lost sunglasses. My old Esprit one got left behind in the van while on the way to Thailand by Sir Terrible Memory which caused me to burst out crying in the middle of Hadyai like a nutcase.

Searched around for another pair to no avail so we had to look for a new one. After one month, we decided on this pair since it suits me best. It cost double the old pair but JH bought it with the promise that I can never bring up the story of the old pair ever again. Bleh!

I don't care the brand or whether it was an upgrade from my old one or not, I loved my old pair! /sniff but I'll keep quiet for now...

A quick revisit

Hola everyone, just wanted to do a quick re-review on some items I bought a while ago and has been using.

Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner
THE BEST eyeliner I have ever used. I used this last Friday while cleaning out our office container (big metal things that people store all sorts of shit inside) and sweated crazily under the hot sun and guess what, my eyeliner did not move an inch. Ahh me love love!

Deja Vu Lash Knockout
I would personally like a bat to knock this baby to the nearest dust bin. Wasn't all that great, hard to wash off, no volumising effect, no lengthening effect. Been using this for over a month and I'm still hating it. BOOOOO!

Etude House Precious Mineral make up essence
I LOVED the Etude House Precious Mineral BB cream but I absolutely hate this. This was given to me by my colleague with about 30% left *point to picture*, tried it and hated it. It makes our face oily. Not dewy, mind you but oily, even the driest foundation starts to slick off after a while and streak all over. It doesn't make the face glowing or anything fancy, it just makes our make up 'float' above our skin and after a while melts off. Gross.

Maybelline Magnum
Almost finish and I guess it really ain't too bad. Believe it or not, it's easier to wash off than the Deja Vu Lash Knockout and the Deja Vu one was suppose to be removed with just warm water. Many bloggers has claimed to like the Magnum better than the Collosal but I'll remain with my own verdict. The Magnum is good but I love the Collosal more. I don't have a lot of lashes and they are short but if given a choice of either volume and length, I'll always go for volume and there's where I differ from others.

Fasio Eyelash Primer
Forgotten the exact name since it has rubbed off from the sides. Loving this and it's finished. *sniff* It does make our mascara slightly harder to wash off but the effect is worth it. It's not heavy enough to weigh your lashes down,

NYX Long Pencil Liner
I'm taking this off my 'to sell list'. I have only used it for about a month and if you look closely, it's REALLY short, That's because I got a bad batch and all the eyeliner on the inside is 85% broken. I sharped it and it broke horribly. I used the proper eye pencil sharpeners and not just any sharpener and still it broke.

It's a good eyeliner because it's black enough and medium cream and doesn't really make me smudge but it broke so badly that I'll be ashamed if anyone bought it and went thru what I did.

Revlon Liquid Eyeliner
So far so good. I like the brush. It can run a little and smudge a little tiny bit but other than that it doesn't go MIA on me even after 6 hours.

Majolica Majora Pore something or another
If it wasn't for the casing, this would have gone flying as well. It's chalky. Not smooth and will probably only work if your face is starting to be so oily it's reflecting the sun. *Ahem* In simpler words, it'll probably work if you want to powder your oily nose. Don't use this to set your make up. It wasn't made for that, me thinks. Don't try to be as smart as me.

Victoria Secret Very sexy duo eyeliner
It belong in the rubbish bin. Enough said.

*This opinions are entirely my own and don't sue me just because I don't like some of the products. I R Poor.

Inspired Look: WendyTung's Barbie Look; Leopard print NOTD

NOTD

A leopard print frenchie! My first attempt. I decided to use white as the background rather than the usual gold because I didn't think that the brown would show well with the gold.

The first time I got the brown from Sasa, I thought it was the right colour which turned out to be the wrong brown which turned out to be the right brown. :D

Capeesh anyone? XD

Halloween is coming up soon, whee, it's always been one of my favourite celebrations. A time to dress silly and no one says anything "smart" about it.

I have no idea what I'll do this year but after watching WendyTung on YouTube I decided to go ahead and try doing the FOTD for fun.

If you went something like, 'Barbie? Our Ashley? AHAHAHAHAAAA...' It's really alright cause that was my first reaction anyway. Barbie I definitely ain't. Infact I don't remotely even look anything like her minus the fact we both have a pair of eyes, a nose and a mouth. She got biggie boobies... /sniff sadly

Bravely onwards now!

Barbie got crease, me no crease but you already know that. Fake crease. I've gotten pretty good at it actually, AHAHAHA! Smear some light purple from your 88 colour palette. Windshield whipper style.

Happy sky blue below the crease. Darken the purple so that the crease looks obvious. Apply light pink above the purple and blend everything together. Apply a light shade of nude colour below he brow bone to highlight and matte white on your inner corner of eyes.

Remember to put them under your eyes too!

Eyeliner time! Whip out your favourite, in my case, I use the cheapest. Not my favourite but this look ain't gonna last for even half an hour so the cheapest will do. Apply falsies. Apply contacts.

LOOKIE everyone! I am finally wearing contact lenses again! Happy happy joy joy! Doing this look, I finally discover my one and only skill. It seems I could actually insert my contact without touching/ pulling my upper or lower eyelids. I just open my eyes wide and "pop" them in. AHAHAHAAA.. Useless right :P

Lipstick used, NYX Circe + NYX Narcissus + NYX Sorbet gloss

Put on your wig. curse how "lobster-ish" the blond hair makes you look, curse your stupid idea of using expired concealer as foundation that is now streaking like mad despite powdering it and HEY, you're done!

Despite the brief rain, the wig was enough to make me start sweating. Had enough of it and promise revenge on it by plotting to cut it shorter, I switched wigs.

...
*phone rings*

Oh Barbie called, she said that I sucked. Oh well. It was colourful and fun while it lasted :P

I found this at the 100 Yen shop. An eyebrow powder for RM4.90! Cheap and good. I've always preferred my eyebrows light rather than dark, so this powder was pretty good. For RM4.90 I can't complain :D

Birthday Wishes

I know I've been a terrible friend of late. I'm late in both wishing the two love of my life, Happy birthday; JH and Elyn's.

I've marked down their birthdays on my special work calender and have been counting down the days, wondering and cracking my poor head on what to get them. In the end, the day came and went and I'm still here wondering what to get them.

How on earth do you even draw a fox?
I knew I should have taken art classes when I was younger!

So what do you get the two loves of your life? JH is a really simple guy that doesn't require much if anything at all; same goes for Elyn. Anything Elyn wants, she gets on her own and doesn't make a sound or hint as to what she likes. They're so difficult!

Please give me more time, I'll think of something >.>;;

Oh Acne!

It's been a while and how is everyone? *waves*

I'm not sure what spur me on to write about acne of all things but it seems that there are alot of people still battling it and I thought that maybe I could share my own experience on how to deal with them.

I'm not entirely sure if my acne is now all gone because age has finally caught up to me or what. There are 101 solutions out there and a million more promising acne cure. So what works? Then again, what works for me, doesn't always have to work for you. I've spent a hefty amount of money on acne creams and facials since God remembers when and it annoys me having to spend so much on something promising and then it doesn't work and you go back to square one.

I've always be surrounded by friends who had good skin, Elisa, Kern, Pinky Doodle Doo, Elyn, blah blah and bla so it really stresses me when I have a face full of pimples and they don't. Worst you can't exactly turn to them for help. They just don't know how to help or answer you.

After a while, my piggy bank got fried, turned bacon and I decided to spend my remaining money on cheap but effective solutions rather than be sold on effective advertising. Pretty models with clear skin can no longer tempt me. I want results and not false promises!

A few tips and advise will cost you nothing and I try to recommend the 'cheaper' products that works. Not in any order.

So lets see, what works for me;

1) Acne Aid
It's a soap that a dermatologist recommended my colleague and she recommended us. I think I did a post on it a while back, It's easily available and cost less than RM15 for a whole bar that can last you a looooong time. Cut into smaller bars so you don't contaminate the entire bar.

2) Stop being so easily tempted by everything that promises you clear, white skin.
Stick to your regular regime, I know that girls tends to start 'wandering' once their skin heals a little and start applying all sorts of things on their face thinking it's going to further help them. Nay. Stop that! Stick to the usual and it'll help your wallet too.

3) Avoid whitening stuffs.
Acne + whitening stuff don't go along. Whitening stuff have an ingredient that irritates acne prone skin. Use whitening stuff long after your acne is gone to get rid of the scars.

4) Drink lot of water.
Sheesh, same old same old. This advise is so boring. That's what I used to think but when I had my wisdom tooth extraction, I drank nothing but plain water and my skin was fantastic!

5) Sleep early.
You can't replace lost sleep. That's what JH told me. I never knew that. Sleep really is important, I would know cause about 4 years ago, I worked in KL and I ate nasi kandar and other unhealthy food every single day for 2 months and still I had good skin, it was because I slept at 9pm every single day.

*I had nothing to do, no tv, no internet, no computer. no lights, no fan so I was "forced" to sleep early :P

6) Change pillow cases often!
Till today, I sleep on a towel. It's weird but I place a clean piece of either towel/face towel before I go to sleep. Imagine going out in the dusty road, coming home and "rolling" on your pillow, rubbing your face all over your pillow. The dust/ pollution from the hair would have transferred to your face and pillow case. And then repeat. Imagine how dirty your pillow case is in like what, a week?

7) Wash hair often

8) Don't use too much hair products;
Gels, sprays, waxs might stick to your face and and guess who pops up to parteeeeee. Oh le le, oh la la~

9) Switch to BB cream instead of foundation
Use concealers only on special occasions

10) Eat healthy
Eat veggies, and make them raw or lightly cooked.

11) Put on facial mask daily.. or almost daily
Clay mask and hydration mask, nothing fancy-smeancy please.

12) Stop touching your face!

One of my hardest habits to break, I got itchy hands that whenever it's free, goes straight to my face.

13) Keep hair off your face
Pin it up, tie it up, buy pretty accessories to just keep the hair off the face.

14) Go for a swim in the sea

This might be a myth and I have no way of proving this but long time ago, I used to have acne on my back and I realize that everytime I went for a swim in the beach, it got better and better. I no longer have this problem :D

Other skin products that might help is dermadex or if all fails, start taking birth control pills like Diane35. I'm not promoting pre-martial sex but birth control pills helps to stabilize hormones thus reducing flare ups. Word of caution. Make sure to see an OBGYN to make sure the Pills fits you or you'll either put on weight, go mental and cry at everything or just feel sick.

It all above doesn't work, don't sue me.
