The Uninvited, Etude House eyelash base review

Aren't they cutee?? I'm so loving them!

Was browsing around Gurney Plaza on Thursday, after I took an MC for food poisoning - AGAIN! Two freaking times in a month in less than two weeks apart. No wonder the doctor raised his eyebrows at me. Was looking for a small pressie for someone as a thank you for her presents but I couldn't find anything. Went round and round like a mad person and found the earrings. Only to find out later the person doesn't wear earrings... *kicks self*

Etude House Oh~m'Eye Lash
Eyelash base in white

After months of make up fasting, I'm quite proud of myself of my steadfast dedication - NOT. I nearly died actually. I only got this because I couldn't stand it anymore and after seeing Kern put on her base every morning at work, it drove me nuts and I got it. It's pretty reasonable too at RM17.90.

My two cents on it;

*Clears throat* Errmm.. ahhh.. uhhh..eeeee..ooooo..*scratch head*
Perhaps its just me, I am a single eyelid person and therefore, I have my eyelashes pushed down by my eyelids due to the lack of crease. I cannot use eye bases/ mascara with fibers as it will be weight down by them and after a few hours, will drop down.

Ta-daaa, faint at your own discretion
baseless, bare of barest, yes, envy my lack of eyelashes :P

This eye lash base has no fiber in it as far my my bad eye sight can see but it gets weight down just the same. It works well to give volume to my eyelashes by sticking some of it together. To me, it lengthen quite a bit too.

Anna Sui's mascara primer - free gift we got during the grand opening of Parkson, Gurney when we purchase Anna Sui's products over RM350
I'm cheap - so sue me

I'm not that liking it only because unlike the Anna Sui's mascara primer which is transparent too, it doesn't make my eyelashes stick up and hold it in position but instead droops down. I do not know what's Kern's take on it since she seems to not have this problem and she does have crease.

Right eye - Etude House Oh~m'Eye Lash
Left to right: See, it doesn't hold up despite curling my eyelashes, the effect

Left eye: Anna Sui Mascara Primer (the side with the short and little eyelash) Left to right: It holds up, the effect

Conclusion

It's cheap and it works okay, I'm not sure how much the Anna Sui's mascara primer cost but I'm pretty sure it doesn't cost below RM20. Probably I done something wrong or missed a step that's why I'm getting this effect (I've tried curling my eye lashes again too but still drops after a while) Maybe this will work better on other who eyelashes are the type that can take fibers in mascaras and so forth.

Anyway on Friday, (Labor Day - holiday = WHEEE!) Elisa, Kern and I decided an impromptu movie date. We decided on the movie, The Uninvited. We all piled into Kern's car and off we went with less than 20 minutes before movie started. Bought our snacks and went tumbling, blind as bats into the cinema right on time.

Description
Anna and Alex Rydell return home after a stint in a mental hospital, though their recovery is jeopardized thanks to their cruel stepmother, aloof father, and the presence of a ghost in their home
SPOILER

To be truthful, it wasn't scary at all, is it me or nowadays, Hollywood movies tend to focus more on the actress' beautiful face than anything else. The actress was really pretty too but anyway, no major scares. I think looking at my credit statements gives me more jolt than this. Yawn!

It totally reminded me of another previous movie I watched sometime ago. The Korean horror movie, The tale of the two sisters. The storyline is similar but the Korean version was alot scarier than the Hollywood one. Both had lots of loop holes that leaves you going, 'Huh?" more than once and after the movie, makes you wonder about this and that and why you even bother watching it in the first place.

Another thing it reminded me of was my favourite game in the whole wide world *grins* America McGee's Alice. I could play it everyday for hours back then, I loved it so much and I still do. The scene where the main actress leaves the Asylum reminded me of the one when Alice left hers.

Another thing is that the description of the movie is totally wrong. The only mental patient was the little sister Anna. Instead of being some horror film, it was like some psychological / detective movie. If you can put two and two together (McGee's Alice + Tale of two sisters) you can pretty much get half of the story + ending figured out.

I'm puzzled as to why the Wright children kept showing up to Anna is beyond me as she has nothing to do with them.

Seriously don't bother paying RM10 to watch this.

Plot
Shortly after her second adventure, Alice's house is burned down by a fire, killing her parents, and leaving her as the only survivor. Because of the guilt, she tries to commit suicide (bandages can be seen on her wrists), and becomes catatonic. She is institutionalised in Rutledge Asylum. Years later, the White Rabbit summons Alice to aid a radically altered Wonderland, now under the despotic rule of the Queen of Hearts. The Cheshire Cat serves as Alice's companion throughout the game, frequently appearing to guide her with cryptic comments.

Just in case anyone's interested
