FOTD - As Sir Thinks-He-Knows-Alot requested

After reading the list of Japanese favourite products 2011 from Ekimura, I immediately gave MAC a call 10 minutes before their closing time to check if they still have MAC Siss lipstick. The MAC Siss lipstick ranked 1st in the magazine and I want it it so badly. I was worried after reading in some forums that it has been discontinued.

Chris answered the call and a few seconds later confirmed that they had it. Whee! Early the next day. Sir Thinks-He-Knows-Alot aka Sir Terrible Memory, took me to Gurney Plaza to try the colour.

His comment, "You look like you ate some chocolate and forgot to wipe mouth." Uhh, thanks dear. I tried Creme D'Nude instead and after a moment, Sir Thinks-He-Knows-Alot commented that I just un-made myself.

Black black eyes

According to Sir Thinks-He-Knows-Alot, women should have red lips, it is unnatural to have brown/chocolate coloured lips. (MAC Siss was the colour of McDonald's chocolate ice cream cone on me - not the sundae, cone). In his (narrow) eyes, women should all have pale skin, black black eyes (eye makeup) and red lips.

I debated with Sir Thinks-He-Knows-Alot that we usually focus on just ONE feature. You can't do the eyes AND the lips. People wouldn't know where to look at! He just happily said, " Oh, but if you do the eyes AND the lips, it will make your look balance and everything will look good." Left me a little speechless.

For someone who can't tell between a lip balm and a lipstick, he sure talks a lot.

But I decided to make his wish come true... in a way to educate him.
  • Pale skin
  • Black black eyes
  • Red Lips
Got it! Things needed;

ELF eye primer
Elianto Whitening Fresh Foundation Stick
The Face Shop Phytogenic make up base in Green
La Pensee eyebrow palette
Botanics eyeshadows
MAC Typographic
Silkygirl Yin and Yang
MAC Kohl pencil in black
NYX jumbo pencil in Black Bean

Apply ELF primer all over eyes and then NYX Black Bean as base. Smear it all over till it's somewhat a shape you want. I brought it up higher than usual to emphasize the 'black black eyes'.

Layer Silkygirl Yang on top of NYX Black Bean and pat on it so there's little fall out. Use Botanic eyeshadow in pale gold to highlight the brow bone and clean up. MAC Typographic is used blend the harsh line gone.

Line waterline with MAC Kohl pencil. Apply falsies.

Apply TFS Phytogenic base all over face to reduce the redness and make yourself paler than usual.

Elianto Whitening Fresh Foundation Stick next.

Left to right: With lip gloss, without lipgloss

The sun is now out and I slowly roast in my own room. Make up starts melting. Quickly sets face with Anna Sui loose powder or whatever was within hands grab.

Line lips with Revlon lip liner, fill in with Secret Pouty Shine Lipstick in Wild Rose and MAC Cult of Cherry lip gloss

Make up continue melting, need pictures quick!

Put on wig, camewhore, hide behind window when dad walked pass. Camwhore a little more. Make up melted beyond help. Gave up.

To Sir Thinks-He-Knows-Alot:
Another request with black eyeshadow and I'll draw your face with my eyeliner while you sleep!

-----------------------------------------------

P.s: Thanks to all the comments, Sir Thinks-He-Knows-Alot now struts around with a super-sized head happily quoting the rest of you..

But thanks for the comment, it was nice to know I didn't look crazy or freaky or worst XD

Ughh..

Haunted room at the Ritz Carlton, KL?

I'm watching you

Headed down to Kl with Elisa and Kern minus boyfriends. We arrived at our hotel, The Ritz Carlton a little over 8pm. Had a quick dinner at Jalan Alor and we decided to call it a night. Long gone we the days when we stayed up all night going clubbing and gossiping.

At about 10 plus, as I stepped out of the shower, I saw words written on the mirror opposite the shower. I went closer to inspect it and read the words as 'I'm watching you'.

I swear my heart thumped loudly in my chest. I reasoned with myself then that perhaps Elisa wrote it as a joke as she was the last one to use the bathroom. It's not Elisa's style but she can be unpredictable. If it wasn't her then refer to the Asian way of dealing with the supernatural.

Lesson number one; Ignore and Lesson number two; Never show fear.

I deliberately took my time and after all's done, strolled out of the bathroom. Elisa went in and not wanting to miss the moment, I followed her into the bathroom and confronted her.

A: Were you the one who wrote on the mirror?
E: *Eyes goes big* Fuck! What are you talking about? Fuuuuck *while running out of bathroom*
A: ... (okay, not her)

After explaining, she rushed back into the bathroom to try to read the words. She later accuse me of being extremely calm but had a glint in my eyes when I confronted her. She doubted me for a full 1 second before remembering that this is the Hungry Ghost Month.

We stuck to the Lesson number one till we checked out the next day.

Itsy Bitsy Haul
My main reason for the butt aching 4 hour drive was because I wanted the RMK Liquid Foundation since there is no RMK counters in Penang. In the end, I forgot to buy it. I hate myself.

Thank you Sir Terrible Memory!

I was looking for the Marc by Marc Jacob Bow ring but it was sold out and this caught my eyes. The Marc by Marc Jacob Bianca Bow Necklace.

The sales lady told me it was the last one and after a close inspection saw that there was a crystal missing. Seeing that I've lost interest, the sales lady hurriedly went to the store room to check and brought this one out.

The previous one not only had a crystal missing but the little tag on the bottom as well. Sheesh. I'm glad I didn't get the first one.

I got Soap & Glory's Scrub your nose in it from Sephora for RM36. I need a good face scrub and so far, I'm liking it. It has a minty smell and cooling effect. The face feels much cleaner and smoother after a good scrub. I used this on my entire face rather than concentrating on the T-Zone since I have lots of white heads on the cheek area as well. Bleh!

Daiso's Blusher that I have drooling for ages. At only RM5, the colour is very pigmented and gives a very rosy flush. Too much and you'll look like you got baboon's ass for cheeks. Colours unfortunately doesn't last too well. Made in China...

Other than that, I got 2 other dresses for only RM30 each and we went on our merry way home.

NOTW
Be prepared for ugly pictures

Clouds & Rainbows inspired nails by Cutepolish (YouTube)

Fairly easy to paint but not very noticeable and the red was a little over-powering(?)

Half Moon Nails - Red & White

I should have left it here *sobs*

Stick on paper reinforcements on nails and paint. I'm normally never this messy but this came out looking so bad it's unacceptable!

Washed it off and endured another round of foul smelling nausea inducing nail polish.

Not the best but will have to do for now. Eech!

Farah asked me how often I do my nails. I usually do my nails every 1 - 2 weeks but I cut my nails just about that often too. I prefer shorter nails now.

While shopping in Gurney, I got suckered into trying out the Tsuya Tsuya Angel Eyes Lash Treatment. They were promoting the Mircoz Lash Treatment but strangely used the Tsuya Tsuya brand on me. Odd.

It's basically just little black fibers that sticks to your mascara and helps makes your lashes look thicker. It was selling at RM79.

I was worried about the tiny fibers falling into my eyes and irritating it but the lady assured me it was 100% natural and can even be eaten.

Since I already have mascara on, she wet it with a cotton wool, applied more mascara on me and applied the fiber.

How do I like it? Me no likey. Sorry! Me no like the price, me no like the effect. It lengthen my eye lashes but to me, it just also emphasized how little lashes I have. It's also very time consuming. If anything, I'll stick to the Flamingo Mascara given to me by Dlbchin. :D

Inspired Look: LIGYARU's gyaru

It's been a while since the last FOTD or whatever. I was inspired by a western gyaru I saw on YouTube under LIGYARU (click on the name for her blog). Her looks are much more intense with over the top wigs and exaggerated make up and very unlike Ekimura's gyaru style which is very subtle and very pretty. It intrigues me because despite the two different looks, I love them both. I'm drawn to Lady Li's eyes and just had to try it out.

For this FOTD, I'm going to post the end pictures only. The process of doing the eyes were long and very very scary. Even for me.

Well Bunny, here ya go, full faced pictures as requested :D

How it started and how it all ended

I had to erase off my eyebrows and make them appear again but in a different colour. I did this by using my ELF eye primer to cover them up and then dabbed light brown eyeshadow on them. Seeing how it didn't work, I opted to use my lip liner. Since I only have ONE lip liner and it wasn't a suitable colour, I went back to dabbing eye shadow colour.

As much as I loved Lady Li's gyaru look, I just wasn't able to duplicate the exact look. Then again, I never did an exact look of anyone before. This is my interpretation and done mostly to see how it would look on me and at the same time still be me.

Took the pictures near my window, I'm a little glad that it wasn't too hot today and I didn't look completely washed out.

Ah well, was never gyaru looking in the first place. Too damned lazy anyway.

Liese Hair dye in Cassis Berry; NOTW: Cuppie cake nails

On the way to dinner in Bt. Ferringhi

Ooo, the merciless sun! Its too hot to do any FOTD/EOTD lately. Even putting on everyday make up has become a challenge since my foundation and concealer melts off before I finish my entire face. I've taken to putting on my foundation last to no avail.

Out of sheer boredom, I dyed my hair today. Had Elisa pick out a colour for me and she mentioned something about me needing some colour so she picked Liese's Cassis Berry. I must admit that I was a little apprehensive about the colour choice but she has better taste than me and I absolutely trust her.

The before pictures
Pic one: normal florescent lighting
Pic two: Natural sunlight

My roots isn't too bad yet but the weather was hot and I had nothing to do. The instruction on YouTube seems easy enough.

So what do I think of it?

PROS
Very simple to use and I don't need my mom's help to dye my hair.
The colour turned out very vibrant.

CONS
The smell of ammonia was super strong! While colouring the side of my head, the smell was enough to sting my eyes. Since I'm such a smart pants, I did it in my room while the curtains down and closed door. I gagged!

With my head full of foam, I managed to smear it on my waster paper basket, curtains, wooden divider and sink top. I R GENIUS!

ARGH! I've been shot!
Ooo, If I have left it, I would have had cool looking Elvis Presley-like sideburns!

The weather was so hot that while waiting for my hair to take in the colour, the foam became runny and ran down my chin. If I had a beard, it would be red too.

Most of the other reviewers mention that they had smoother softer hair after the dying it but I didn't feel that way. It's sightly coarser than usual. Then again, I do have super soft and straight hair to begin with.

The after pictures
Pic one: normal florescent lighting
Pic two: Natural sunlight

Uhh, just in case you think I'm boasting, note that super soft = super limp. My hair has absolutely zero volume. My hairdressers ask me if I straighten my hair which I do not and it upsets me. If I wanted super straight hair (which I don't) the next day, all I do is I wash it, comb it and go sleep. I rather have wavy, volume hair. Hell, I don't care if I have Dolly Parton like hair! *sniff sniff*

Pictures taken near the window

NOTD

Saw this on YouTube and just had to try it. Wish I didn't. The frosting on the "cupcakes" looked a little retarded since JH's white acrylic paint has dried up and became lumpy. I made it even worst when I paint big fat cherries on them and hated it! Covered everything up with white and from lumpy became clumpy.

Never in my life have I had 5 different coloured nails so I found this refreshing. Wish I had a lighter yellow or mint colour nail colour tho. It would have looked better. *sigh* But will make do :D

It's my birthday and I'll argue if I want to! NOTW; red black frenchie, floral pattern, Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner

It's been a while since my last post. My birthday came and went and everything's been quiet. A little too quiet.

Yes, I'm officially in my 'late' twenties now. No longer 'early' or 'mid'. It's strange knowing that after this, the years are gonna roll by and before I know it I would have hit 30. I've always wondered where I'll be and what I will be doing when I turn 30. Now, it's just a couple of years away and I'm still no where.

Thank you Pinky Doodle Doo!!

A day before my birthday was the Clubhouse's annual Drunk Fest: Tequila Night. Was not planning to drink but spent the night and morning hugging toilet bowls, wash basins, plastic bags and waste paper basket. What a way to start.

Me and Tequila are not friends. Never were, never will be. Period

Later the evening, I treated my family to our favourite japanese restaurant: Isaribi Tei.

My promise to myself this year was to look pretty for my birthday unlike my previous birthday which had me looking all tired and haggard. I dressed up, looked nice, smell nice, etc and ... argued with the boss of the restaurant /facepalm

Isaribi Tei is as well known for the affordable and nice japanese cuisine as it is for the extremely rude boss. We never had a problem till that night. It left me a little pissed and I guess me and JH's weekly meal there instead will be a monthly thing instead.

JH gave me a choice between a bag, a laptop or a watch. I picked a watch.

Liquid Eyeliner

I guess you know when to retire your liquid eyeliner when the consistency of the eyeliner becomes diluted and uneven. Behold.

When I first got this, I loved it to bits. It started off so promising - dark and beautiful. Read here. And now, it gone and died-ed on me. *sniff sniff*

Luckily about 4 months ago, I purchased the Dolly Wink black eyeliner from Sasa. There was raves about how good and fantastic they were so out of curiosity I got them. I'm happy to say I have no regrets at all. I do wonder if it'll turn gray and diluted on me later tho.

No problem washing this off since I use oil cleansers.

The liner is easy to use and can be used to draw both thick and think lines without problems. The only thing that I would like to point out is that it strangely smudges on me despite me using UDPP as base. I don't expect anyone else to have this problem since it's more of a mono lid problem. *shrugs*

In life, I hardly, close to never experience creasing problem but I smudge all the *toot toot toot bleeeep* time.

I really liked how the gray pigment (eyeshadow) in this look. Believe it or not, I gotten the pigment roughly 3-4 years ago and this is the first time it worked. This time, I used UDPP as eye base. So what was I using before this?

Minus the falsies

The lady who sold me the pigments was really popular seller in a forum I frequent and besides pigments, she also sells eye base which she claimed made the pigments waterproof. I happily purchased the eye base. To cut things really short. We later found out the eye base was actually Vaseline from Watsons. One reason why my pigments didn't stay on my lids, colours came out horrible, muddy and it does the David Copperfield ie: Disappears. I shelf the pigments till now.

Dug up an old lip gloss of mine and slather it on

NOTW

For my birthday I painted the usual OPI Off with her Red and once it started chipping, I used black to do a sort of frenchie.

Yuck, the red at the base looks awful after a week

Then I came across Tiffany-Kim's blog and saw this:

Fell in love with it and was so eager to try it. I have a strange love for floral patterns. Bags, clothes, rose scented perfumes etc. I'm quite sure I probably remind some of you of your grandma T.T *sniffs*

Nope, didn't turn out so well. Re-did this as the stripes I made looked awful! My light green has dried up and I ended using the Maybeline Lickety Split for the leaves.

Of course, knowing my luck, I accidentally knocked over the bottle and it fell on my favourite pajamas, giving me a suspicious looking GREEN period-like stain.

FML!

Angry Birds

My first ever angry bird. Made it for Jobie's belated birthday but Pinky Doodle Doo nabbed it. Sorry for the blurry pics, it's not easy taking a snap shot of something on your thumb.

Hate hate hate working with white. Just about anything can stain the white. ARGH!
