Basically it is a challenge to all her subscribers to recreate a make up look inspired by non other than Japan.
Unless you live in a hole, you'll pretty much know what happened to Japan. One disaster after another but it makes me glad to see that people from around the world are scrambling to lend a hand. I'm personally not too worried. I have strong faith that Japan will rise again and fast. They were never the type to give up to begin with.
Over in Penang, there has been many charity drives and jumble sales to raise money for Japan. The last one Pinky Doodle Doo, JH and I attended was at Straits Quay. It was funny to see Star Wars' Storm Trooper going around with a donation box though.
JH and I is also doing our best to support our favourite Japanese restaurant, Isaribi Tei. Despite the owner saying that business was not affected in an interview, we could tell it has been affected badly due to the radiation scare. We would hate to see it close down despite the fact that he called my colleague 'stupido' for asking for separate bills once..
Since I've done ganguro before I decided to try something different. I decided to try a geisha inspired look. Note the inspired; I did not end up looking anything like one. It took me 2 tries and it still failed. *sigh*
I used Elianto's white foundation. Don't bother looking for it. 1) It's been discontinued since the dawn of time. 2) It's oily and sucks chicken ass. It's extremely difficult to layer without smearing everything - literally. Powdering it is a feat of it's own.
Trust me when I say I lost a chunk of hair because of this. Once you look like you fell into a sack of flour. You're ready for the next step.
Pray no one walks into your room and sees you looking like this. If they do, 'Tell them you're doing an Edward Cullen look'. They might just believe you and leave you alone.
Apply pink eyeshadow to lids, a little gold as well, line eyes with eye liner. Wing it to elongate your eyes to give you the "Asian" look. Fill in eyebrows.
In the end, I think I will audition for the next Pontianak film or something. ARGH!
Next! Must.never.give.up! *grunt*

Your makeup is stunning! you have such beautiful fair skin. Love the cute strawberry nails!!
You are so patient to give that geisha look a few try before giving up. I gave up geisha look even before I started. That's how I end up doing the ganguro look again.
Your geisha look actually works...I can see the geisha vibe in it. especially the red lips and the blush.
Hahaha, yes, you're wrong. tan people could hardly hide their acne scar. I'm pretty tanned but my acne scar stands out so much concealer become my must have. You interested in trying the Kryolan TV Paint Stick V14 I used for ganguro looks? I can send some in jar for you.
Anyway, I'd sent you an email.
My netbook fail to upload the ganguro look. OMG, super kawaii!!!
Omigosh your geisha look is perfect, you should definitely dress up in full geisha costume for Halloween :D
