ROTD

I am not trying to offend anyone, this is just my honest opinion.

If there's one thing I hate, I hate answering emails about Limb Lengthening (Don't ask me why I'm answering them >.<) ;

"Hi I am 22 year old male currently standing at 169 cm. I would like to know the procedures in limb lengthening"

"hi my age is 27, i am 168 cm and i hoping to be about 174-176 cm"

"i'm 24. still a student. i have tried many methods to increase my height but nothing really works. recently i found out at limb lengthening surgery.
i am thinking of going for it. about the side effects i don't really mind as my goal now is to increase my height. my height now is 150 and i want to know how much can i grow taller with this surgery "

My fingers itch to tell them all to go borrow Elton John's platform shoes or even the Spice Girls'. They are great for stomping on grapes too. If they liked designer brands, the Vivienne Westwood ones are 9 inches and famous for Naomi Campbell falling off them. If all else fails, there's always the torture rack in the Tower of London.

I know I am not the shortest nor am I the tallest and I probably won't be able to understand how it feels being short. To me being tall means you look better in gowns and hey, no one will ever look down on you :D, being short on the other hands means you'll be forever young and you're automatically considered 'cute'. Being in between means you're neither here nor there. Gowns are not always pulled off and you're too much of a giant to be considered small and cute. Sheesh.

Hell, now I've always wanted to be atleast 170cm and strut around looking "down" on people but that is so not going to happen unless I'm wearing high heels or my friends are standing in a hole.

Then again thinking back, if I was ever given a choice, I wouldn't mind being petite. I will happily wear the cutest little dresses you've ever seen with frills and laces. Not always together I mean.

It's not that I have a problem with people trying to be tall but by breaking your bones and being wheelchair bound for 6 months to a year is. It's okay if the person has one leg shorter than the other but if you have perfectly healthy legs and you consider doing it because you want to be 3-4 inches taller, it makes me think either you're too rich and too vain.

If any of you have broken your legs/ hands before, if you remember the pain then and then think of doing it on purpose. And paying lots of money to do it. And being a nuisance to everyone (in more ways than one)

Limb lengthening procedure is not a one off thingie, there's no do it today, go home tomorrow. It's a 6 months or more long procedure and can cost up to USD60,000 in some places (China is cheaper) which includes multiple surgeries. As any surgeries, there are risk that comes with it. Risk as the legs will not grow at the same length again, infection, damaged nerves and blood vessels and even fat embolism that can result in death.

I've read some forums that some people are extremely happy with the end results and have no regrets doing it. Well, good for them. Really.

There are always things that we're unhappy about, some things can be changed, some can't or at least it's a little harder to. Or a lot more expensive anyway. My way of living is to make do with what God has given me.

If Life throws lemons at you, make lemonade. You can always add some cut peaches into it, a small decorative paper umbrellas, add more ice and turn it into ice blended lemonade, add soda water to the lemonade..

It's tempting to throw it back and tell Life to make its own lemonade but I'll probably just ask all my friends to go stand in a hole.

People are asking you questions about limb lengthening?? I didn't realise that procedure was available for purely cosmetic reasons. It sounds incredibly painful! I agree with you about wearing heels. If I want to feel taller, I wear them. and if I feel like being petite and small, I wear flats. I do constantly wish I was taller, but would never consider limb lengthening. I just have to be happy with what I'm born with. And change the things I can change, like using makeup! hehe

So peeps are randomly emailing you about this? That's kinda odd considering your blog mentions nothing about it.

I've heard of these procedures and man they sound pretty scary.

I agree with making do with what was given to us! =D

Oh oh! I saw a documentary about this a while ago and I was a bit shocked. The pain one has to go through for maybe 2 to 4 cm longer seems not worth it at all. Plus, the people in the documentary went into hiding for a certain amount of time, because they didn't want others to know about it.

Everything has its pros & cons. I wish that people would just accept how they look like and focus on other elements in life. Life is too short to wander around asking yourself a lot of why questions anyway. I know it's easier said than done of course, because there are people who can become severely depressed by things like things. Why are things in life so difficult sometimes?

I wanna have that lemonade please! Especially with an umbrella :D. Oh! And a ribbon!

Perfect!

Xoxoxoxox!!

I think the same way about the surgery. Those who think of getting the surgery just because they like to be a little taller need to be placed in other perspective. I saw in documentary, those that do it China most of the time are desperate, being too short make them loss a lot of job opportunities and make love live very hard for them. I feel very sad when people are being discriminated for something that is very superficial.

1st off what is wrong for being short? why can't people just be who they are and be happy with what they already have with them ? they just have an odd ways to start picking themselves, perhaps, going under the knife is fun? hell guess no pain no gain holds true...ahahahaha..

I don't have a problem being short, and I never mind standing in a hole for yer if there is ever a need, I'll do it..:P
