Hee. I'm a little happy that I have a skincare crazed colleague in my office *
ahem* who reads Chinese cause we both managed to buy the latest skincare range from Niu Er. If you're wondering who this Niu Er guy is, unfortunately, I can't really tell you a whole bunch as well. All I do know is that it's created by a very famous Taiwan make up artist (?) His other range include the Beauty DIY. There's not a person left in Taiwan who doesn't know him and he's some really famous guy.
*Ahem* but I'm not for Taiwan. I'm a banana
( Yellow on the outside, white on the inside; in other words, a Chinese who cannot read/ speak Chinese) who don't usually buy skincare online. Pardon my ignorance.
* I finally learn how to write my own Chinese name!! At the age of 26! All Chinese would have been ashamed for me but to me, better late than never. Now where's the paper? Uhh..So anyway, my colleague came up to me and asked if I was interested. Saw the packaging and the price and was hopping around nodding my head
(literally) My first thought when I saw the name Narcissus was vanity, what an odd name then it stuck me that Narcissus is a flower. Remember the Greek guy that fell in love with his own reflection?
Googled pictures The Narcissus flower is perceived quite differently in the east than in the west. Whereas in the west, the Narcissus flower is seen as a symbol of vanity, in China, the same flower is seen as a symbol of wealth and good fortune. The ancient Greeks believed this plant originated from the vain youth, Narcissus. He died after becoming so obsessed with his reflection in a pool he could not leave. The Greeks say that the gods turned his remains into the Narcissus flower. In ancient China, there is a legend about a poor but good man, who was brought many cups of gold and wealth by this flower. Since the flower blooms in early spring, it has also become a symbol of Chinese New Year. Narcissus bulb carving and cultivation is even an art akin to Japanese Bonsai. If your Narcissus blooms on Chinese New Years, it is said to bring you extra wealth and good fortune throughout the year. On top of that, it has one of the sweetest fragrances of any flower. So it is highly revered in Chinese culture.-Wikipedia
About a little less than 2 weeks later, our packaged arrived but got stuck at the Malaysian Customs. I have nothing good to say about them so I'm not going to even begin. But anyway my colleague got a LONG lecture from the pharmacist who checked thru our stuffs to make sure they were not anything dangerous and that we're not going to start making bombs in our houses. Colleague got lectured that she was only allowed to buy in one month's supply and not that much and so forth. Stupid people! It was only 2 freaking sets of skincare. Not a container filled shipment. Then again, it was about 12 pieces of night creams, make up removers, cottons, moisturisers... *
whistle innocently*
Ta-daa, finally! It was real cheap too! We both bought a 10 piece skincare package and I included two extra masks for a grand total of RM320! We noted that some people were selling the sleeping mask for over RM50 each when the price of TWO sleeping mask + two free sample mask was only RM50. That's one reason we didn't buy them online. Too bloody expensive and the waiting time is actually longer since they need to gather enough orders.
Anyway the set included one mousse cleaner, one cream cleaner, one make up remover, 2 moisturisers (day and night) 2 toners (day and night) one sleeping mask, one BB cream and 3 boxes of cotton pads. I bought an extra package which includes the above mentioned 2 sleeping mask (rose and lavender) + two smaller lavender sample.
One of the coolest thing about the entire Naruko set is that each and every box can be turned into something. For example, the Rose sleeping mask's box I got could be turned into a card holder. It even comes with instructions! The inside of the boxes are not all the same, they have it in green, purple, grey, pinks and so forth. Talk about recycling. Love it!
I've tried the products on for about a couple of days now and I'm pretty satisfied with it. No pimples so far *fingers crossed* and the rose sleeping mask smells heavenly. Colleague didn't really like the lavender smell tho, I'm fine with it.
I was initially really excited about the BB cream but I found out that it was merely somewhat of a tinted cream. The old me would not have even given this thing a second glance when I found out that it is super sheer. It will NOT conceal nor hide anything. It gives skin a dewy healthy look besides evening out the skin tone. Considering the fact it's so sheer, how does it smooth of skin tone? Don't ask me. I say it as I see it.
Luckily, skin has been under control lately and I no longer wear alot of make up, so this was fine. I wore this to work + some blusher and that's it! JH prefer the no make up me, but me prefer me with lots of make up, nyahah!
NOTD of the week!
Shooting stars~ actually call them whatever you like..
