Inspired Look: Atelier Maquillage; NOTD Bears with Pink Afro

Mass Effect 3 is out! How do I know? Easy, no messages, emails, sms etc from Sir I-Live-Only-For-Games.

End result

Since I have the entire night to myself I decided to do a look I saw on Youtube. I forgotten the actual name but it might have been Atelier Maquillage. The lady in the video used an incredibly bright cobalt blue and I was in love.

Heeeee~

It's been a while so please excuse my now rusty skills. Also, I have my office make up on and I didn't bother to remove it. Heh!

In this post, I used 2 cameras so the size of the pictures are different. To start, I used the 88 colour palette and used the colour marked below. I didn't want to use Turquoise as I'm forever using it. Apply all over lid then use the lighter blue and put it on the center of your lid only. Apply black and wing it slightly.

I've always known that the 88 palette is extremely chalky, the fallouts are unbelievable. I spent so much time wiping the black from my other parts of the face. Good thing I decided to put the foundation on last. I applied Mac Nylon to highlight below the brow bone and blend the blue together to create or in my case attempt to create a gradation. I apply black eyeliner to my water lines and liquid liner to the inner corner of my eyes.

I look strange

Foundation, as usual, el cheapo grabbed my now-almost-finished-and-extremely-expired Elianto stick foundation. Applied it like a mad woman with enough foundation to cover the world. Then I filled in my eyebrows.

For blusher, I used Avon soft mousse blusher in Peach. Heavy Rotation Milky Color Lips in 04 and NYX Smokey Look lip gloss completed the look. Not forgetting, I lightly dusted my face with The Body Shop's highlighter on my cheekbones, applied my bought in Japan-because-it's-cheaper Dolly Wink eye lashes and I'm done.

Looking at these pictures, I guess there is no denying that age is really catching up to me. I look much older now then when I first started (D'oh) and I'm not too sure what to think other than..

I need to get better skin care? And maybe start switching to Anti-Aging series. Should have started much earlier but my pimple skin didn't like the 'richer' ingredients and broke me out even more. I guess now is a good time to start. I'm getting older but why isn't my pimples going awayyyy.. Go awayyyyy!

Yea, you can still see the un-dried glue :P

Valentines gift from Sir Who-Are-You-Again

NOTD: Bear with Pink Afro

Since I've done the normal brown bears, I decided to do one with beige. Since it was just an experiment, I used the cheapest nail polish I had with me at that time, the Etude House PK003. Then started on bears and happily showed Sir.

Sir Knows-Alot took one look and commented that my bears had pink afro on then with an evil grin said, 'What has been seen cannot be unseen' and return to his game.

Blue and Gold EOTD

Tuesdays are are World of Warcraft's maintenance day. It's also me and JH's movie day but since we watched the King's Speech yesterday, I sat in front of mirror and did funny faces at myself. It's a habit of mine to make stupid faces at myself everytime I see the mirror; I can't help myself and it makes me laugh.

I'm also hoping to take a short break from WoW after some *ahem* majorly embarrassing incident. No, no one died. Oh wait, yes they did! I somehow managed to cause the entire group to wipe. Wipe here as in to die, not the car washing, dish washing, glass wiping wipe. It wasn't entirely my fault but a big chunk of it was since I'm one of the healers. *sigh*

Long story short, I cried on the desk and slink off to the bedroom to sob somemore. No one curse or yelled but the guilt! Oh the guilt! Later the night, I dreamt the members of the guild signed a petition to get me booted from the guild.

It's weird to cry over a game but the embarrassment was too great. I'm still new to the game, having played for a mere 5 months but I do consider myself a good healer. I'm great (if I do say so myself) in heroic dungeons but in the raid, oh God!

Enough of being whinny, after so long, I decided to do an EOTD. In one of my most hated colour - GOLD. I love it hanging on my body but I can't stand it on my eyelids. I used Pinky Doodle Doo's 120 colour palette for this look since mine doesn't come with gold.

The colours are beautiful and vibrant but it's also very chalky. Be prepared for fallouts.

I don't have an explanation as to why I repeatedly use the colours I hate the most or know that I don't fit other than curiosity. I really lazy so I didn't bother washing off my eyeliner. Pile a gold colour base on it. Mine is from The Body Shop and expired with the dinosaurs. Don't ask.

My initial look was to have a "golden" eyelid. Gold on my yellow skin? Hello, jaundice! No go. The only thing that ran thru my mind was that I was screwed this time. I didn't have any make up wipes with me and my dad was sitting outside. I didn't wanted to show him how odd I look with all the gold eyeshadow.

So I had to add a little blue and then medium blue.

Draw my eyeliner ala Cleopatra (toned down version), dust my eyebrows and I'm almost done. Applied MAC Vera-vicious on cheeks and took a step back, snapped a shot and laughed. I really looked like those typical Chinese Opera actors getting ready for the show with my slit eyes. The eyes!

Put on your falsies, put on your wig and ta daaa! Usually for EOTD I don't apply make up on my neck. I do that everyday but for EOTDs I'm a little to lazy too. I'm wearing my pajamas so I had to cover that with a scarf.

But anyway congrats to Sharlene and here goes (Be warned: Picture heavy) ;

Inspired picture, Ain't she a beauty! I don't expect to be able to do the same
nor do I even own such a cool headgear

I ended up watching YouTube "Make up with Joelle" till 7am. FYI, Joelle is a famous Arabic make up artist. From the countless of videos, I gathered that Arabic concentrate on the flawless complexion, eyebrows and eyeliners. And I must say, to me Arabic women has always been the most beautiful women in the world, nothing seems to beat their features. *sigh* How on earth am I going to pull all this off? *slaps self* This is for fun, this is for fun!

Left to right: I couldn't decide where the colours goes so let's just put them anywhere and everywhere. Nyahahahahaha
Even everything out with a sponge

First off, I don't have flawless complexion, so it's something I'm going to have to fake. So I ended up using the colour wheel that E gave me some time ago. Smooth everything out so I have a nice base to begin with. Goodbye pores! Hello Flawless!

Left to right: Put on your thickest foundation and smooth it out like your life depends on it!!

Put on your foundation, make sure it too has good coverage after the base is set and colour corrected. Set your make up with your loose powder and remember to add loose powder under your eyes to catch whatever fall outs

I primed by eyes with E.L.F eye primer first. I'm using pigments this time instead of my usual eyeshadows so I really need something to make them stick. The yellow I used for the inner corners will unfortunately remain nameless because I think it was a free gift in a baggy. But whom gave it to me I don't recall nor the brand since it wasn't labeled. Next I put on Mineral Mate Ancient Gold. This was a mistake. I swatched a little on my hands and it turned out light and shimmery but when it went on my eyelids, it was darker than I though. Oh well..

Just to fast foward a little, I applied Sweet Scents's Shamrock (one of my all time favourite) on the outter corner and Etude House's Teal eyeliner on the bottom. I lined my eyes with a Kajal eye liner on the top and bottom. I draw my eyebrows using Virgin Vie's Medium Brown Eye brow pencil and darken it with some black eyeshadow.

I soften the Kajal eye liner with MAC typographic and highlighted and blended everything with NYX Pearl White pigment. Add falsies and MAC Fleurry on the cheeks with The Body Shop's Shimmer Wave in Peach all over face. Lip colour came from a U2B lip colour palatte. Add some clear gloss.

Final look

I prefer the pale lips to the red ones but since I wanted to somewhat follow the inspired picture, I ended up putting on red lipstick

The blue scarf was a little overpowering(?) so I switched over to a white on instead so the eyeshadow colour is a little easier to see. This is tough for me to do considering that like what, 99% of Arabs probably has double eyelids and I don't.

Right: Last shot on the camera, Big Big Smileeeeeeee!!

Left to right: I used the 2nd colour on the top row for the pale lips and the 1st colour on the bottom for the red lips.
The colour wheel

Halfway typing all this, I had to run to run to the toilet and try to puke. I think the plastic smell of the color wheel was too over-powering and gagged me. This is the first time I wanted to puke from putting on make up o.O;;

The Body Ship Shimmer Waves

While I was super stressed last week, I went out of my mind and bought something. And it turned out fabulous! Introducing The Body Shop Shimmer Wave! Oh the cupcake was free from Benefit, we didn't buy anything but the SA gave us anyway, uhh thanks!

Free cuppie cake from Benefit and The Body Shop Shimmer Wave in Peach
Ain't the cuppie cake so gorgeous looking? *dreamy sigh*

We saw this first in while visiting Mr.C in Queensbays last week and while buying the body butter for mom, we spotted this beauty just sitting there. Major drool. There was only 2 colours available; Pink and Peach and the top half of the Pink has broken off so we didn't get to swatch it properly. Couldn't decide which colour to get and since I'm super tight I decided to think about it first and see if I really want it in the end. Fast what fast? *mouthful of cupcake*

Few days later, E went on raving about how beautiful the colour was and how high the reviews at makeup alley was and how it was even better than Bobbi Brown's Shimmer Brick! E is incrediable, I didn't even ask her to check or anything and she did it all herself for god knows what reason. She then asked what highlighter I usually used and found that besides my MAC Mineralize Skin Duo (which the shimmer part has hit pan) I have no "proper" highlighter. My MAC Vanilla didn't count along with my MAC CCB Luna and RedEarth's Secret Potion (according to her) and it's time I get a proper highlighter.

Swatched the colours from bottom to top, The behind :D

So E, K & I headed over to Gurney this time to take a look, and it according to majority votes, the Peach suits me better as the Pink is a little too frosty. There was 10% discount and I went back self doubting and worried if I should have bought it. Sure the price is nothing compared to a BB Shimmer Brick but..but...*sniff*

Less than one day later, I'm so bloody glad I got this, it's worth every cent! I've really impressed with the colour payoff and how beautiful it looks on my skin and how it makes my skin glow and make me look healthy instead of a walking corpse. I can't stop smiling as I'm typing this, I'm so happy!

Took this in the morning while getting ready for work, only half done, and excuse the chipmunk face, I don't know why but guess my face is a little puffy in the mornings. Never realized till I took the pictures. And YES, I have pores, I'm only human afterall

Re-ment's Itoshi no Utori Sweets

Nearly cried when E told me my Utori Sweets has arrived. Not tears of happiness but more of 'WHYYY?!? I'm broke' kind of tears. E showed me the pictures last month and told me how much she likes this set and I wasn't all that impressed but some mistake happen and Uncle Tong ended up ordering for both me and her. *sigh*

I was comtemplating on avoiding Uncle Tong for a couple of days till pay day comes out but when we headed to Midlands for lunch, we stopped by and I thought, this month or next, in the end, I'll have to get it and so I did. Uncle Tong gave us some discount and looking at it closer, it is a very nice set. I love the muffin set. I love muffins! I love anything to do with cupcakes and muffins and candies and chocolates and coffee and tea and cakes and puddings and...

Oh cuppie cake, why are you so gorgeous? *stares at the cupcake*
