Inspired Look: Atelier Maquillage; NOTD Bears with Pink Afro

Mass Effect 3 is out! How do I know? Easy, no messages, emails, sms etc from Sir I-Live-Only-For-Games.

End result

Since I have the entire night to myself I decided to do a look I saw on Youtube. I forgotten the actual name but it might have been Atelier Maquillage. The lady in the video used an incredibly bright cobalt blue and I was in love.

Heeeee~

It's been a while so please excuse my now rusty skills. Also, I have my office make up on and I didn't bother to remove it. Heh!

In this post, I used 2 cameras so the size of the pictures are different. To start, I used the 88 colour palette and used the colour marked below. I didn't want to use Turquoise as I'm forever using it. Apply all over lid then use the lighter blue and put it on the center of your lid only. Apply black and wing it slightly.

I've always known that the 88 palette is extremely chalky, the fallouts are unbelievable. I spent so much time wiping the black from my other parts of the face. Good thing I decided to put the foundation on last. I applied Mac Nylon to highlight below the brow bone and blend the blue together to create or in my case attempt to create a gradation. I apply black eyeliner to my water lines and liquid liner to the inner corner of my eyes.

I look strange

Foundation, as usual, el cheapo grabbed my now-almost-finished-and-extremely-expired Elianto stick foundation. Applied it like a mad woman with enough foundation to cover the world. Then I filled in my eyebrows.

For blusher, I used Avon soft mousse blusher in Peach. Heavy Rotation Milky Color Lips in 04 and NYX Smokey Look lip gloss completed the look. Not forgetting, I lightly dusted my face with The Body Shop's highlighter on my cheekbones, applied my bought in Japan-because-it's-cheaper Dolly Wink eye lashes and I'm done.

Looking at these pictures, I guess there is no denying that age is really catching up to me. I look much older now then when I first started (D'oh) and I'm not too sure what to think other than..

I need to get better skin care? And maybe start switching to Anti-Aging series. Should have started much earlier but my pimple skin didn't like the 'richer' ingredients and broke me out even more. I guess now is a good time to start. I'm getting older but why isn't my pimples going awayyyy.. Go awayyyyy!

Yea, you can still see the un-dried glue :P

Valentines gift from Sir Who-Are-You-Again

NOTD: Bear with Pink Afro

Since I've done the normal brown bears, I decided to do one with beige. Since it was just an experiment, I used the cheapest nail polish I had with me at that time, the Etude House PK003. Then started on bears and happily showed Sir.

Sir Knows-Alot took one look and commented that my bears had pink afro on then with an evil grin said, 'What has been seen cannot be unseen' and return to his game.

Rose Rose I love you~; NOTD; NYX Lipsticks

Rose, Rose I love you with an aching heart.
What is your future, now we have to part?
Standing on the jetty as the steamer moves away,
Flower of Malaya, I cannot stay.

-Rose Rose I Love you, Frankie Laine, 1940

I'm starting to gather that perhaps I might have a little problem with Roses.

This is only a small part of my rose collection

I love them a little too much. Only the scent though. It's weird considering I'm not much of a fan of the actual Rose. I prefer lilies; Casablanca and Calla lily are a favourite but I can't stand their smell.

Haul of the day

It's not even lunch time and I have exhausted my wallet. Queen E (Elisa) managed to get some Raspberry mask from The Face Shop for only RM60 instead of the usual RM99. So yay! All hail, QE!

Bought the much needed white nail polish from Elianto again since my old one is drying up along with L'Occitane solid Rose perfume *cough*. Talk about impulse buy along with other unmentionables.

Also, the lipstick from NYX that I wanted so badly finally came; Orange Soda and Strawberry Milk. The swatches from online showed Orange Soda to be a beautiful light orangey-peach. And it is.

I love this seller, the package came in less than 2 days after paying for it. For ONCE, a seller that is prompt. I don't haggle, I don't demand a lot, I just want my packages to come on time for God's sakes!

Then again, just knowing my luck...

I have paid for broken lipsticks thanks to our wonderful postal service. The package came resembling something people have stepped on.

The lipsticks broke and so did my heart. I waited over a month for them!

I knew I couldn't trust Samy Vellu when he loudly promised Pos Laju's (translation: Fast Post) slogan to be "Send tomorrow, arrive today". Yes he actually said that, but what I think he meant was send today, arrive tomorrow. Then again, fast in one thing, arriving in one piece is another.

Well, the colour turned out weird on me anyway so..

I was expecting Strawberry Milk to be funky on me, I didn't fit the MAC Saint Germaine or whatever so I was expecting it but I had a lot of hope on Orange Soda. In the end, Orange Soda looked weirder on me that Strawberry Milk. I'm gonna go hide under my blanket now, thank you very much.

On a happier note, I finally bought some Konad stamp plates after debating with myself for over 3 months.

NOTD - Uhh.. Swirly Cherry Blossoms or something

Sorry, I didn't clean the side of my nails yet.

Reviews: Skin Food Red Bean BB Cream, Revlon Soft Nude lippie, Mustika Ratu Masker Bengkoang

I often mentioned that I'm not a fussy eater and I usually wallop up everything but the one thing I cannot stand are beans and peas. Kidney beans and green peas are the only thing that I will literally spit out each and every one. Was never a fan of Green, red and whatever beans.

The Skin Food BB cream was something I ended drooling for when I saw my sister buying this for her friend in Singapore. I didn't get it till a while later though. Had to get the approval of my "sponsor".

It's been about one weeks since I started using it and so far no breakouts, Thank God. The strange thing was when my sister was buying it in QueensBay Mall and I was with her, the coverage seems thicker but when I got mine in Gurney Plaza, I found out the coverage is sheer. My eyes are staring to play tricks on me!

Not sure is there's an eye problem or is it that the QBM tester was older and started to cake up. Eech!

I was told the Red Bean BB was more on hydrating meaning it's good for people with dry skin. I have oily but dehydrated skin, so what now? I'm confused. But "neediness" got the better of me and I ended up getting it. I reasoned that my BB cream was finishing - It was a lie!

The SF Red Bean BB cream is indeed a little tad oilier. My face is shine-y by 10 hours. Coverage is sheer but build-able. Unfortunately, I fear the more you apply, the oilier it might get. If you have good complexion, this is good for a little glow and coverage. If you need better coverage, you'll need your concealer.

I powder my face after using it and it's actually okay for me. I don't powder my face if I use my Etude House Precious Mineral though. It's a lot thicker and can be cakey if not careful.

I'll continue using it since my skin is getting better now and I'm starting to prefer sheerer coverage and letting my skin show more.

Got a RM10 Parkson voucher and was wondering what to buy when I remembered this. It's been a while but it's still 'Oh so pwetty' to me. Had a slight heart attack when I saw Parkson selling this for RM39 and only 10% off. Ouch! Watson was selling this for only RM32!

After thinking about it, I used the voucher to buy it anyway. *sigh* No more lipsticks for me till next year. Or lipglosses for that matter.

Right to left: Revlon Soft nude; With NYX Sugar Pie

One of the best buys I had for 2010 was Mustika Ratu's Masker Bangkoang! Believe it or not. I initially bought this for RM3.50 and since they recently won some Best Items of 2010 the price has jumped to RM5!

Excuse me while I let out a string of curses! I should have stocked it! Bloody Hell!

Each packet is good for 3 uses!

Mustika Ratu is an Indonesian product. If you're looking for whitening mask. This wins hands down down down! The mask is good! It might smell a little funky if you're not used to traditional herb-y smell.

I got to know about it when I saw my Indonesian colleague's face looking glowing and nice. She gave me a packet to try and I fell in love.

Before that, I search for them online and damn they were expensive, worst, I couldn't find any reviews. It was a plunge I never regretted. I bought the tube of mask this time instead of the packet ones because I wanted to try it out. It contained the Air Mawar (Rose water) and Olive oil meaning we don't have to mix it ourselves and make a mess of everything. In the end, it's no where as good as the packet one. The packet mask has little rough pumice(?) in it to scrub your face with but the tube mask was smooth.

If you decide to try this and not like it, don't blame me. This is just my opinion and I never said I was always right :D

RM15

Last buy of 2010. Contact lenses. This was a total 'Want' and not 'Need'. Sigh. A guilt buy but I promised myself, this is going to last me as long as it possibly can. The i-Dreamy in Grey. It's really dark Grey and natural thanks to the outter black ring. Bought this cheap for RM30 + RM3.50 (shipping) and I got them here.

I don't usually supply links because one way or another I always have problems with the sellers. Defected good, sellers that don't deliver on time, lousy customer service etc but this was the very few times that I had absolutely no problems.

I don't demand a lot, I don't bargain BUT I do ask alot of questions and when I pay for next day delivery, I wanted it delivered out and reach my house in a maximum of 2 days. If I wanted to wait, I would have taken the cheaper postage. If there was a reason you cannot deliver. Tell me. Don't keep me waiting like an idiot.

My make up look for Girly and Hock Yew's wedding, 26th December 2010.

It was a garden wedding so I wore something simple and non fussy. Whee!

A quick revisit

Hola everyone, just wanted to do a quick re-review on some items I bought a while ago and has been using.

Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner
THE BEST eyeliner I have ever used. I used this last Friday while cleaning out our office container (big metal things that people store all sorts of shit inside) and sweated crazily under the hot sun and guess what, my eyeliner did not move an inch. Ahh me love love!

Deja Vu Lash Knockout
I would personally like a bat to knock this baby to the nearest dust bin. Wasn't all that great, hard to wash off, no volumising effect, no lengthening effect. Been using this for over a month and I'm still hating it. BOOOOO!

Etude House Precious Mineral make up essence
I LOVED the Etude House Precious Mineral BB cream but I absolutely hate this. This was given to me by my colleague with about 30% left *point to picture*, tried it and hated it. It makes our face oily. Not dewy, mind you but oily, even the driest foundation starts to slick off after a while and streak all over. It doesn't make the face glowing or anything fancy, it just makes our make up 'float' above our skin and after a while melts off. Gross.

Maybelline Magnum
Almost finish and I guess it really ain't too bad. Believe it or not, it's easier to wash off than the Deja Vu Lash Knockout and the Deja Vu one was suppose to be removed with just warm water. Many bloggers has claimed to like the Magnum better than the Collosal but I'll remain with my own verdict. The Magnum is good but I love the Collosal more. I don't have a lot of lashes and they are short but if given a choice of either volume and length, I'll always go for volume and there's where I differ from others.

Fasio Eyelash Primer
Forgotten the exact name since it has rubbed off from the sides. Loving this and it's finished. *sniff* It does make our mascara slightly harder to wash off but the effect is worth it. It's not heavy enough to weigh your lashes down,

NYX Long Pencil Liner
I'm taking this off my 'to sell list'. I have only used it for about a month and if you look closely, it's REALLY short, That's because I got a bad batch and all the eyeliner on the inside is 85% broken. I sharped it and it broke horribly. I used the proper eye pencil sharpeners and not just any sharpener and still it broke.

It's a good eyeliner because it's black enough and medium cream and doesn't really make me smudge but it broke so badly that I'll be ashamed if anyone bought it and went thru what I did.

Revlon Liquid Eyeliner
So far so good. I like the brush. It can run a little and smudge a little tiny bit but other than that it doesn't go MIA on me even after 6 hours.

Majolica Majora Pore something or another
If it wasn't for the casing, this would have gone flying as well. It's chalky. Not smooth and will probably only work if your face is starting to be so oily it's reflecting the sun. *Ahem* In simpler words, it'll probably work if you want to powder your oily nose. Don't use this to set your make up. It wasn't made for that, me thinks. Don't try to be as smart as me.

Victoria Secret Very sexy duo eyeliner
It belong in the rubbish bin. Enough said.

*This opinions are entirely my own and don't sue me just because I don't like some of the products. I R Poor.

Inspired Look: WendyTung's Barbie Look; Leopard print NOTD

NOTD

A leopard print frenchie! My first attempt. I decided to use white as the background rather than the usual gold because I didn't think that the brown would show well with the gold.

The first time I got the brown from Sasa, I thought it was the right colour which turned out to be the wrong brown which turned out to be the right brown. :D

Capeesh anyone? XD

Halloween is coming up soon, whee, it's always been one of my favourite celebrations. A time to dress silly and no one says anything "smart" about it.

I have no idea what I'll do this year but after watching WendyTung on YouTube I decided to go ahead and try doing the FOTD for fun.

If you went something like, 'Barbie? Our Ashley? AHAHAHAHAAAA...' It's really alright cause that was my first reaction anyway. Barbie I definitely ain't. Infact I don't remotely even look anything like her minus the fact we both have a pair of eyes, a nose and a mouth. She got biggie boobies... /sniff sadly

Bravely onwards now!

Barbie got crease, me no crease but you already know that. Fake crease. I've gotten pretty good at it actually, AHAHAHA! Smear some light purple from your 88 colour palette. Windshield whipper style.

Happy sky blue below the crease. Darken the purple so that the crease looks obvious. Apply light pink above the purple and blend everything together. Apply a light shade of nude colour below he brow bone to highlight and matte white on your inner corner of eyes.

Remember to put them under your eyes too!

Eyeliner time! Whip out your favourite, in my case, I use the cheapest. Not my favourite but this look ain't gonna last for even half an hour so the cheapest will do. Apply falsies. Apply contacts.

LOOKIE everyone! I am finally wearing contact lenses again! Happy happy joy joy! Doing this look, I finally discover my one and only skill. It seems I could actually insert my contact without touching/ pulling my upper or lower eyelids. I just open my eyes wide and "pop" them in. AHAHAHAAA.. Useless right :P

Lipstick used, NYX Circe + NYX Narcissus + NYX Sorbet gloss

Put on your wig. curse how "lobster-ish" the blond hair makes you look, curse your stupid idea of using expired concealer as foundation that is now streaking like mad despite powdering it and HEY, you're done!

Despite the brief rain, the wig was enough to make me start sweating. Had enough of it and promise revenge on it by plotting to cut it shorter, I switched wigs.

...
*phone rings*

Oh Barbie called, she said that I sucked. Oh well. It was colourful and fun while it lasted :P

I found this at the 100 Yen shop. An eyebrow powder for RM4.90! Cheap and good. I've always preferred my eyebrows light rather than dark, so this powder was pretty good. For RM4.90 I can't complain :D
