Happy Birthday to meeeeee, NOTD, Hello Kitty Swarvoski pen

Damn I've been lazy. Didn't buy anything fancy or new so I didn't have much of an inspiration to post up anything. I'm still trying to finish up whatever make up I have first. Oh wait, I bought lots of nail polish, will post them up in my next post though.

NOTD - Pink with glitter and diamante

Oh! I forgot, I officially became 28 on July 10 this year. Wheee! Went to work as usual and came back home to sulk since Sir Terrible Memory was in Japan on a family holiday. Yes, the lucky boy, got to go Japan again so soon after our last trip. An all expense paid trip inclusive of shopping money. (WTF!!)

I had sleepless nights for the duration of his Japan trip and even had dark eye circles which is rare for me. Luckily a few days of good sleep afterward got rid of it in a jiffy.

These cupcakes were given to us (me and my sister) from our lunch mate who coincidentally birthday fell a day before mine.

But even without Sir TM, my birthday this year was good. My lunch partners organized an outing to a All-you-can-eat Steamboat Restaurant on the 9th. That night, my sister had to roll me out of the door, into the car and home. As usual, my greediness got the better of me and I paid the price. Yes, I work with my sister in the same company but different departments :D

On the 10th, the people in the department I am sitting in banded together to throw me a surprise party. Instead of a cake, they got little cupcakes with everything they knew I love, Chanel hand bag, Chanel lipstick, shoes, dresses etc. made from sugar fondant.

Besides the cupcakes, they also got me this!! OMG!

I was really touched, I ended up crying. I love them to bits but didn't expect anything from them. I would have been happy to just receive the cupcakes.

Later, my colleagues from my department threw another surprise party for me after sending me on a wild goose chase.

Too many cakes in too short a period caused me to put on so much weight I couldn't buckle my jeans anymore. So to end the story, I am now on a diet eating carrot sticks and celery. I am not happy...

P.s: If you are confused, let's just say I work in XX dept. but sits in YY dept, has transferred to VV dept. but still does a bit of XX dept. work while still sitting in YY dept. There!

Elisa got me a Jill Stuart tinted lip balm! Whee! Thank you, Habibi! I'm a little surprised she remembered how much I wanted one. I first saw it when Elyn got Elisa a Jill Stuart lip balm and I drooled - badly.

Still no ring from Sir Terrible Memory but Pinky Doodle Doo gave me four! Hah! Thanks, Pinky Doodle Doo. So far, I have received one from Bunny, four from Pinky and zero from Sir Terrible Memory *waves fist* I'm keeping tabs!

A chunky bracelet from my department head. Thank you!

So how's my birthday look?

Plain.

I manage to meet Bunny from BunnyOnline.com last Sunday and I think even she will be able to tell you that I am very plain looking in real life. I don't have any fancy-smeancy make up or clothes or hair. I'm just the average kinda girl you see everywhere :D

Sir Terrible Memory returned from Japan a day after my birthday and he bought me Hello Kitty stuffs and a Starbucks tumbler as peace offering, Yay!

How.. manly.

I was kinda hoping for the Cherry Blossoms ones but I guess they didn't have that.

Oh happiness! A Swarovski Hello Kitty pen filled with 150 Swarvoski crystals.

A Hello Kitty Eco bag, chocolate biscuits and tissue papers (lol)

Thank you Sir TM for the gifts, I am happy for the gifts but truthfully, I am thankful you came home to me safe and sound. That, is the best gift of all.

A handkerchief from the Hokusai Museum.

Hokusai was a famous wood print artist, believe it or not the image on the handkerchief above is made using a wood print.

Poodle hairstyle; NOTD Music sheets; Elyn's gifts

Ahh, what is there to write? Except that I have a hair style that only Poodles would love. Like seriously. No, I'm not in the mood to post up pictures of my hair right now. Perhaps later. I wept sorrowfully on my bed upon returning from the hair dresser.

There was a serious miscommunication between me and my hair dresser with each of us having a different picture in our head. And to think, I endured and kept my hair to shoulder length to get this hair and now all I want to do is dunk my head in a tub till it straightens.

The words, 'I trust you' is now haunting me.

Work started since last Tuesday. I don't want to complain so I'll skip that part or 500 pages won't be enough for me. Elyn's package arrived! What a surprise. Came home from work and there it was, a HUGE parcel with my name written on it with a note to make me burst out laughing.

In it, there was a bag of sweets, filled with green tea sweets and delicious with sticky, chewy plum fillings. Elyn, you shame me. I sent you 2 sweets and you sent me a bag full T.T I was so ashamed!

There was also crackers, sweets, cookie shaped picks and a bottle of L'Occitane Fleur de Cerisier body lotion. Why must you send me such expensive gifts? Didn't I say I'll pay for the lotion? Stop being difficult and give meeeee your account numberrrr~

P.s: I've been trying for days to upload the pictures to no avail. Something wrong somewhere. Had to use photobucket o.O

NOTD - Music sheets

Well, I guess if there's one way to cheat during a music exam. If you're suppose to memorize the notes, just stamp them on your nails :P

But normally, they'll just make you play and tone deaf people like me won't go far even with the notes stamped on my nails.

Haunted room at the Ritz Carlton, KL?

I'm watching you

Headed down to Kl with Elisa and Kern minus boyfriends. We arrived at our hotel, The Ritz Carlton a little over 8pm. Had a quick dinner at Jalan Alor and we decided to call it a night. Long gone we the days when we stayed up all night going clubbing and gossiping.

At about 10 plus, as I stepped out of the shower, I saw words written on the mirror opposite the shower. I went closer to inspect it and read the words as 'I'm watching you'.

I swear my heart thumped loudly in my chest. I reasoned with myself then that perhaps Elisa wrote it as a joke as she was the last one to use the bathroom. It's not Elisa's style but she can be unpredictable. If it wasn't her then refer to the Asian way of dealing with the supernatural.

Lesson number one; Ignore and Lesson number two; Never show fear.

I deliberately took my time and after all's done, strolled out of the bathroom. Elisa went in and not wanting to miss the moment, I followed her into the bathroom and confronted her.

A: Were you the one who wrote on the mirror?
E: *Eyes goes big* Fuck! What are you talking about? Fuuuuck *while running out of bathroom*
A: ... (okay, not her)

After explaining, she rushed back into the bathroom to try to read the words. She later accuse me of being extremely calm but had a glint in my eyes when I confronted her. She doubted me for a full 1 second before remembering that this is the Hungry Ghost Month.

We stuck to the Lesson number one till we checked out the next day.

Itsy Bitsy Haul
My main reason for the butt aching 4 hour drive was because I wanted the RMK Liquid Foundation since there is no RMK counters in Penang. In the end, I forgot to buy it. I hate myself.

Thank you Sir Terrible Memory!

I was looking for the Marc by Marc Jacob Bow ring but it was sold out and this caught my eyes. The Marc by Marc Jacob Bianca Bow Necklace.

The sales lady told me it was the last one and after a close inspection saw that there was a crystal missing. Seeing that I've lost interest, the sales lady hurriedly went to the store room to check and brought this one out.

The previous one not only had a crystal missing but the little tag on the bottom as well. Sheesh. I'm glad I didn't get the first one.

I got Soap & Glory's Scrub your nose in it from Sephora for RM36. I need a good face scrub and so far, I'm liking it. It has a minty smell and cooling effect. The face feels much cleaner and smoother after a good scrub. I used this on my entire face rather than concentrating on the T-Zone since I have lots of white heads on the cheek area as well. Bleh!

Daiso's Blusher that I have drooling for ages. At only RM5, the colour is very pigmented and gives a very rosy flush. Too much and you'll look like you got baboon's ass for cheeks. Colours unfortunately doesn't last too well. Made in China...

Other than that, I got 2 other dresses for only RM30 each and we went on our merry way home.

Be prepared for ugly pictures

Clouds & Rainbows inspired nails by Cutepolish (YouTube)

Fairly easy to paint but not very noticeable and the red was a little over-powering(?)

Half Moon Nails - Red & White

I should have left it here *sobs*

Stick on paper reinforcements on nails and paint. I'm normally never this messy but this came out looking so bad it's unacceptable!

Washed it off and endured another round of foul smelling nausea inducing nail polish.

Not the best but will have to do for now. Eech!

Farah asked me how often I do my nails. I usually do my nails every 1 - 2 weeks but I cut my nails just about that often too. I prefer shorter nails now.

While shopping in Gurney, I got suckered into trying out the Tsuya Tsuya Angel Eyes Lash Treatment. They were promoting the Mircoz Lash Treatment but strangely used the Tsuya Tsuya brand on me. Odd.

It's basically just little black fibers that sticks to your mascara and helps makes your lashes look thicker. It was selling at RM79.

I was worried about the tiny fibers falling into my eyes and irritating it but the lady assured me it was 100% natural and can even be eaten.

Since I already have mascara on, she wet it with a cotton wool, applied more mascara on me and applied the fiber.

How do I like it? Me no likey. Sorry! Me no like the price, me no like the effect. It lengthen my eye lashes but to me, it just also emphasized how little lashes I have. It's also very time consuming. If anything, I'll stick to the Flamingo Mascara given to me by Dlbchin. :D

Hand writing tag; Prizes from Yana's giveaway

Uh, hands quicker than brains and thus the blunder on Q2

A while back, Yana tagged me for a Hand Writing tag. Was planning to tag Bunny but she was quicker than me and she ended up tagging me instead. Thank you guys! I actually like the idea of looking at people's handwriting. It might sound weird but it does tell you a little bit more about them :P

Rules: Get a piece of paper and write the answers to the following questions:
1. What's your name/your blogger name?
2. What's your blog's name/URL?
3. Write "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog."
4. Favorite quote?
5. Your Favorite song?
6. Your favorite band/singers?
7. Anything else you want to say?
8. Tag three to five other people.

I don't have the best handwriting. I frequently, I can't stress enough on the word frequently, my test papers, essay books etc will come back with the sentence, 'Please write bigger' on it. To me, smaller hand writing = less paper wasted, less ink wasted.

Also, if you write really small, your mom can't read your diary unless she finds her glasses first. AHAHA! Kidding, my mom don't read my diary and my last diary dates back to 1996.

I could have probably guessed Bunny's handwriting if I was given a bunch to sort out. It's as cute as herself with lots of super cute emoticons, hearts and a certain Bunny flair. And it's neat too!! Me likey. Ganbatte ne on your uni life!

I work with doctors due to the nature of my work and trust me, I go to a corner, take a couple of minute to decipher what they wrote, scratch head, ask nurse, nurse scratch head, and together we brain storm.

So I was surprise to see Yana's neat handwriting. You go Yana! Keep at it! The nurses and all will love you since they actually understand what you wrote! No one will go home with the wrong medicine too! Aww, then again, I adore you anyway whether I can read your handwriting or not. *hugs*

I received Yana's prizes from her last giveway today. Woo-hoo! Came home to find a parcel waiting for me on my bed. The Natio's face mask is one of her favourite and I love clay masks.

In the parcel was also a pair of earrings she bought from Hong Kong. Can someone please knock me on the head? Why and how I manage to miss out buying accessories in HK is beyond me. Seriously. Then again, probably all the itching and scratching occupied most of my mind.

The earring was beautiful! Very elegant. I definitely see myself wearing it to dinners. It's a pity a petal broke though, but I'm gonna super glue it together again.

Ooo, the chocolates! Daim is one of my all time favourite chocolates. I love the sticky hard caramel inside the chocolate and trust me, we once had this in the office and I remember eating most of it. Too addictive or maybe I'm just greedy.

Thank you Yana! I know you've been thru a lot lately and I hope you'll feel better soon. You have all our support and love. Take care and take a break when you can.

P.s: I want beautiful doctors walking about in our hospital too. No fair!

Oh and I didn't do Q8. Almost everyone I know has already been tagged. I.R.Sadz. So whoever who's not done this yet, please do, then let me know and I'll go be a busybody at your blog.

Gifts from amazing people online: Tahira aka TJ

When I started my blog back in 2008, never in a million years did I thought that I'll meet so many amazing people online.

They've showered me with love, support, gifts and so many kind words.

I still remember the first time I saw Elyn from SERENDIPITY. My best friend Elisa introduced us and our friendship remains till today. She's unpredictable, unbelievably wise, funny and has a BIG HUGE heart. She read my blog on my bad breakout and before I know it, lug all her barang-barang (things), crossed the Penang Bridge to come all the way to my house to give me a facial. She ended up giving my mom and Pinky Doodle Doo a facial too.

It was also about the same time I met Tahira. Tahira from A Look in a Creative Mind.
She wasn't kidding on the creative part, that's for sure. Over time, Tahira's art became even more amazing. Her drawing never fails to impress me and the ideas that she has. But its her colouring skills that blows me away. I'm left gasping as I take in all the colours she uses for her drawings. They are alive!

Pictures from Tahira's blog. Used without permission =_=
Sorry TJ

I'm a HUGE fan of hers. Both of her work and her as a person. She sincerely cares for people and the list goes on and on. In a nutshell, she's someone I truly care for despite never meeting her in real life. Someday when she's famous and all, I'll be so proud to tell people I know her.

Back in late February, just when I've hit a real low point in life (To those who have my FB might have a clue) A mail came for me from Holland.

It took me by surprise and made me cry. It's been a while since I communicated with her and here she is, drawing me a lovely card filled with love and ... ME!

TJ,

I know I'm a lousy friend as I didn't reply you when you became worried if the mail went missing but thank you for being patient with me. I'm still sorting out my mess and I admit that you card gives me a sense of calmness and inspiration. I still stare at the colours used in the background and it's just so beautiful. TJ, my gorgeous TJ, you are one heck of an artist. I love you very much!

P.s: Your card attracts alot of attention. Everyone who comes into my room automatically goes for it and start whining about wanting a friend like you. LMAO!

I'm 26!!

As you may or may not know, my birthday just passed last weekend and because I'm so awesome, the Penang Governor made it a public holiday...*snigger*

Really, it was a public holiday ... oh er, it was also his (our Governor's) birthday so... *ahem* anyway, the birthday celebration started on Friday when JH took me to Miraku, a very nice Japanese restaurant in G-Hotel. It was also one of the first places; the other being Penang Hill, he took me on one of our very few dates during courtship. It wasn't that we had very few dates, it was more like our courtship was really really short. Muahahaha!

Anyway me being me, got all dressed up, la dee da and then forgot to take any pictures. The food as good as usual and we even got a special Birthday dessert from the chef (but only thanks to the fact that JH knows him :P)

Saturday was spent out for lunch with Elisa since Kern was in KL, Elyn was working, TJ is obviously in Holland probably waiting for World Cup to start and JH was at a Magic: The Gathering: M11 Launch Party.

It's always nice to have a girl time like this. It's becoming so rare lately since everyone's busy chasing their dreams, getting pregnant, giving birth, getting married and everything else in between. So E and I being none of the above (okay okay, E's busy chasing her dreams but made time for me :D) spend our time gossiping and learning, who and who's getting pregnant, giving birth, getting married...

Headed to Mario's, our current favourite Italian restaurant in Batu Ferringhi on my actual birthday for dinner with parents. The food was awesome. So delicious and affordable. After dinner, the birthday cake time. As mom puts it, no birthday is complete without a cake! This year's Tiramisu from Ritz. Heavenly.

Requested for no birthday song and that only 2 candles be lit. The rest can be hidden, scattered around for all I care. NYAHAHAHA!

So what did he got me? JH being JH (meaning: VERY stingy oh err..hehee I mean thrifty) got me something I didn't expected. His younger brother was coming back from UK for semester break so he got me a LV Neverfull MM from London.

*Muaksmuaksmuaksmuaks JH*

I know it's not the latest or anything but hell, I'm jumping around doing the JH bunny dance now. My 2 year quest is finally completed! FYI, the original quest was not to get my bf to buy me a LV Neverfull but to get one myself. Unfortunately I underestimated the price and budget was a little tight after quitting my job and all so quest was abandoned and forgotten.

As for Elisa, me got a Origins Drink Up mask! My #1 favourite hydration mask. Not only does it smells of Peaches and Apricots, it works wonders. I got a tester for it once and loved it ever since but since the price tag is a little hefty at RM95. 3 words: Can't afford it. :P

I've tried lots of hydration mask and nothing works better than this. I'm so happy. Now I got something to keep my Origins Out of Trouble mask company. As for those that posted on my face book and previous post. Thank you as well!! I appreciate them just as much.

Oh by the way, I cut my hair again. Finally!
