I'm 26!!

As you may or may not know, my birthday just passed last weekend and because I'm so awesome, the Penang Governor made it a public holiday...*snigger*

Really, it was a public holiday ... oh er, it was also his (our Governor's) birthday so... *ahem* anyway, the birthday celebration started on Friday when JH took me to Miraku, a very nice Japanese restaurant in G-Hotel. It was also one of the first places; the other being Penang Hill, he took me on one of our very few dates during courtship. It wasn't that we had very few dates, it was more like our courtship was really really short. Muahahaha!

Anyway me being me, got all dressed up, la dee da and then forgot to take any pictures. The food as good as usual and we even got a special Birthday dessert from the chef (but only thanks to the fact that JH knows him :P)

Saturday was spent out for lunch with Elisa since Kern was in KL, Elyn was working, TJ is obviously in Holland probably waiting for World Cup to start and JH was at a Magic: The Gathering: M11 Launch Party.

It's always nice to have a girl time like this. It's becoming so rare lately since everyone's busy chasing their dreams, getting pregnant, giving birth, getting married and everything else in between. So E and I being none of the above (okay okay, E's busy chasing her dreams but made time for me :D) spend our time gossiping and learning, who and who's getting pregnant, giving birth, getting married...

Headed to Mario's, our current favourite Italian restaurant in Batu Ferringhi on my actual birthday for dinner with parents. The food was awesome. So delicious and affordable. After dinner, the birthday cake time. As mom puts it, no birthday is complete without a cake! This year's Tiramisu from Ritz. Heavenly.

Requested for no birthday song and that only 2 candles be lit. The rest can be hidden, scattered around for all I care. NYAHAHAHA!

So what did he got me? JH being JH (meaning: VERY stingy oh err..hehee I mean thrifty) got me something I didn't expected. His younger brother was coming back from UK for semester break so he got me a LV Neverfull MM from London.

*Muaksmuaksmuaksmuaks JH*

I know it's not the latest or anything but hell, I'm jumping around doing the JH bunny dance now. My 2 year quest is finally completed! FYI, the original quest was not to get my bf to buy me a LV Neverfull but to get one myself. Unfortunately I underestimated the price and budget was a little tight after quitting my job and all so quest was abandoned and forgotten.

As for Elisa, me got a Origins Drink Up mask! My #1 favourite hydration mask. Not only does it smells of Peaches and Apricots, it works wonders. I got a tester for it once and loved it ever since but since the price tag is a little hefty at RM95. 3 words: Can't afford it. :P

I've tried lots of hydration mask and nothing works better than this. I'm so happy. Now I got something to keep my Origins Out of Trouble mask company. As for those that posted on my face book and previous post. Thank you as well!! I appreciate them just as much.

Oh by the way, I cut my hair again. Finally!

Oh le le, Oh la la, 6 months; Cherry 'failed' NOTD

*For those who are lazy to read and has diabetes, feel free to skip the first part :D

My half year anniversary with JH came and went. We didn't have the opportunity to do anything fancy since our special day was smacked right in a super busy week for us, my mom's bday dinner on Friday followed by his mom's bday dinner on Saturday, came Sunday, we were still full from all the dinners.

Initially I was disappointed since I was so looking forward to it but in the end, it didn't bother me much. We spent the weekend together and had a good time in our families' company which to me was the best afterall. I am happy. And fat. But happy nevertheless.

For our special day, I bought him Magic: The Gathering Rise of the Eldrazi Fat Pack and a folder to put his rare cards. What a nerdy present but since it's a request from him, how can I say no. I initially bought him a card weeks ago but couldn't figure out what to write...

Our best shot was a blurry shot T.T; Yes puke people puke, NYAHAHAHAHA!
You won't be the first, we also give people in GameForge diabetes anyway

So I decided that since he read my blog (despite me telling him not to, that nosy fool!) here goes, maybe this might embarrass him enough to stop reading it.

Dear Jiun,

Aren't you glad we reached our half year together?

It's wonderful being with you and you really make me happy. To think that just six months ago, you held my hand and never let go despite me being in trouble, how I've cried and lost sleep over it but you stood firmly with me and gallantly went to all my battles with me.

Yes we had our ups and downs but I thank you for everything. For driving me around to shopping malls on weekends, listening to my rants and silliness but mostly for your love, your support, hugs and kisses.

Love you
xoxo

Ps.: Don't you dare correct my grammar, bad english and all for this post! *shakes fist*

Me and Pinky Doodle Doo, *ahem* It's Pinky Doodle Doo and NOT Pinky Poodle Poo..
Damn, I need to change her name

'To have tried and fail is better than to have never tried'

That sentence pretty much sums up all my make up looks, EOTDs and NOTDs. These Cherries failed. It's worst than the strawberries one. God, my nails looks awful. Oh wait, why am I posting this? Right, to remind myself - NEVER AGAIN!

Chinese Valentine Day

Background picture is from www.petertan.com

The 28th February is the 15th day after Chinese New Year is also the Chinese Valentine Day. So it's obvious I'll visit the two loves of my life. No it's not MAC and the Candy shop but JH and Elisa. I would have happily visited TJ and Elyn if I could too but TJ is too far and Elyn is still probably busy with her new house, which I'm hoping to get the address for.

E's new work place looks great and everything seems to be looking up for her. All her problems have started to untangle and she's looking happier than she's been for a while. As for JH and I, we went around searching for my belated V-Day pressie. We still didn't manage to find it but dinner up in Bt. Ferringhi was delish! JH couldn't sit still after hearing some recommendations from Leanne during our QueenBay Mall outing with the group. The price was alright for Italian food and the atmosphere was pretty romantic but parking was a *toot

Background picture is from www.petertan.com

After dinner, JH offered to bring me to throw oranges at Gurney but the traffic jam was horrendous so I decided to just skip that. Afterall I've already found the love of mi life :D atleast that's what I tell him. Truth be told, it's because I forgot to buy a watermelon and spray paint it orange.

Mission: Disguise watermelon as orange.

Why?: So I'll have the biggest orange in the whole of Penang and which guy can miss that?! (unless they are blind)

[Insert delusional laughter]

For those who doesn't know, Chap Goh Meh (15th Night) is a night when single females would throw oranges into the sea in hopes of finding love.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chap_Goh_Meh

http://www.penang-vacations.com/chap-goh-meh.html

I'm not entirely too sure but I think long ago, they used to throw plain oranges into the sea, but now adays, girls would write their name and phone numbers on the oranges before throwing so that the guy whom pick up the orange would know whose orange it was. Anyway the best part is, I doubt they can even pronounce my name so they probably won't call. MUAHAHAH! And since the name Ashley is unisex and the only person they would know with this name is the footballer Ashley Cole, they'll probably think I'm a guy *sigh*

Anyway GameForge has been organizing FNM, Friday Night Magic for some time now. Before you think we all sit in a circle, hold hands and have a seance, or have some magic show, (Hocus Pocus, Hudoo Pudoo, do the things I tell you to doooo) let me clarify that FNM is actually Magic: The Gathering Friday Night drafting and last Friday was my FIRST Magic drafting.

Was nervous as hell since I am the noobest of the noobest so I asked for Bouncer's help. Bouncer is a guy, all magic players would love to kill cause of his God's Hands. He's able to pick up the best packs in a box and is able to tell which packs has a bad rare or even a foil. How he does it is beyond me, or any of us. He's a nice guy nevertheless. For that night, he was my partner in crime.

I ended with a green/white deck and the thing is that I was suppose to learn from Bouncer but everything happened so fast but before I knew it, the game was over and I came in 3rd with Bouncer's help.

I lost one game to Rom's mono black deck. T.T Booo!

Garnier Aqua defence, Egyptian Magic Cream

Hmm, so how have I been faring so far? Let's see, I've been quite injured lately, it all started with the ripped nail that bled alot, then the feet that skin came off and then there's the eye infection.

Sheesh, talk about unlucky streak. Not going to show you my gross eye or my feet cause it will definitely without a single doubt gross you guys out. It managed to gross everyone in my office out. I thank god, that healthcare here is really cheap and that I'm working in a place where medicine is free cause I'm super prone to eye infection of all things and getting sick. And I'm also clumsy.

I'm either forever knocking into tables and chairs like a pinball or tripping over my own shoes. I blame it all on the fact I'm half blind.

*sigh*

GameForge will be officially launching latest expansion, WorldWake tomorrow. I know JH is super excited. Got the Lightkeeper of Emeria, the latest angel to add to my growing angel collection. Hee hee..

You light up my lifeeeee, you gave me hope, to carry ooooonnn~

I have 3 moisturiser waiting for me at home, but I hate them all. I suspected that they have been giving me pimples. Been using the Estee Lauder Hydra Complete multi-level moisture cream, [God, what a long name] which I love with all my heart and soul except for it's price tag. So when I saw that Guardian was having a sale on Garnier Aqua Defense range, I rushed over to browse around. I remember Elisa and Kern mentioned that they quite like the range and it wasn't too bad so with my paycheck banked in, I picked up the Aqua Defense Cream. I got the cream instead of the essence because... I'm a bloody cheapskate. I got a coupon for RM4 off this one so I got this one instead. It ended up being really cheap at RM12+. [insert gleeful laugh]

I'm happy to report it gave me no breakouts. I'm a little paranoid ever since the Dr.Jart+ incident. The jar is solid and heavy and it smells nice, to me anyway. It smells of a little cucumber-ish.

Why does it have so many chinese character? I can't read them!!!! What do the wormy words says?

I'm not too sure if it's just me but I've been using BRTC Protect Multiplex Balm which was way too dark for me plus my Etude House Precious Mineral which is a little too light together! Both of these has superb oil control on their own so I'm really not sure if it's because of the weird combo or because of the moisturiser that my face is super oily.

It wasn't meee, it was already spilled over when I bought it!

I.reflect.sunlight,back.to.the.sun.enuff.said.

Since my last bad online shopping encounter, I've stopped buying anything but a certain something caught my eyes and after days or debating, I decided to get it anyway. Cost quite a bit, roughly about RM155 + free shipping (Yay!) It's been a while since I even spent that much on something online.

Ta daaa~

The Egyptian Magic Cream, lots of people have already done reviews on it and has some pretty good write ups about it, so I'm just going to write on my own 2 cents on it.

When I first got it, I was quite worried, it looked and smelled somewhat like Vaseline. I would have started killing people if I really bought a huge jar of Vaseline for RM155 cause I already have two bottles of that at home and it's been 4 years and I have not finished using them yet.

Since I recently bought the Hada Labo skincare, I didn't wanted to mix them. I was worried it might be too moisturising and I might end up with pimples. I don't use my Hada Labo toner in the morning since i'm rushing for work and I don't have time to spend 15 minutes patting my face.

I used it as a body lotion for the first night. I applied some to my cracked heels and all over my body and went to sleep. I must admit my shock when I woke up today and my cracked heel healed. I can't stop touching it wondering if I'm just imagining things since I've applied Vaseline then wore socks and it took weeks to even make my heel better. I'm amazed! My skin feels so moisturised too. Wow! It's a little sticky at first but once it's absorbed, it's still sticky but bearable unless the weather is hot then you can stick a note on yourself ala post-it style on your forehead.

But keep in mind that the cracked heel wasn't very serious. Just a minor peeling type.

Started using it as a day moisturiser before sunblock hoping that it might help with my skin, so far so good. No break outs yet. Ehehehehee!

Me loving it so far

Bubbles, bubbles toil and trouble

When we want something badly, the only thing going through that head of ours is, "I want!I want! I want!" At that point of madness, we tend to forget that we probably already have something similar at home; don't need it; not worth the money, etc. etc.

Well, that's exactly what happen when I headed over to UPR for the Little Penang Bazaar. I'm pretty sure I got the name wrong but anyways, the bazaar is held every last Sunday of the month and there's quite a number of things to see. After a colleague of mine told me about buying organic, handmade soaps from the market, I knew I wanted one too. I kept thinking that there wasn't anymore soaps at home and how badly I needed them. I couldn't wait to get my hands on them and told JH about it. Together after work (I work half days on Sundays) we went.

We first stopped by Midlands One-Stop (an old Mall) to watch the pre-release Magic: The Gathering Worldwake tournament(?). I'm excited, two new angels for the white deck and for my collection, "Come to mama, my pretties~" I've decided that hell, if I can't beat them, join them and thus I too am now a Magic player. A really lousy one anyway. GameForge is having the launching on Friday night. Whee!!!

*Slaps self* Nay nay nay, this post is suppose to be on soaps, not Magic cards. *Ahem* back to the topic, we brave the elements; 35 - 36 degrees Celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit) of heat and humidity. Panted, melted but we got there! And bought my soap and had a walk around since it was both our first time there.

My first thought when I see these are: I should have bought more.. *sniff* Too late now
Lookit, pwetty colours!

Of course when I reached home, I dug out my old soaps which I bought during my trip to Australia a gazillion years ago just to ... take a look. Ah the pretty colours. I was suppose to just buy one but of course the one soap might feel lonely so I bought the soap some company :D

Ahahahaa! These are bathroom salts from Stuf, I stuffed them into empty Ettusais boxes so they are easier to pack and store, I have another 3 in a different box. Don't they look yummy?

Dug it up and noted that there was some boxes of Mark & Spenser soaps in there as well which trigger my memory that I recently found out that I still have a bar or two of Rose soap from M&S and that triggered my memory that I had some La Source soap + shower gel from Crabtree and Evelyn which trigger my memory that I had two more boxes of Lavender soaps also from C&E. And then there's the new bar of soap that I just got...

Uh oh..

Uhhh... must not let JH know.

Quickly moving on, I snapped my nail in half. I.R.Smart (D'oh) seeing the nail cracked halfway across and blood gushing out, my room swirl around and darkness embraced my fragile self *slaps self* Kidding, I held on to the wound so the blood would stop. I can still feel it going "Beep bop, beep bop, beep bop" under all the plaster. *sniff*

SMUDGED! It smudges at the very last possible second *shakes fist*
The crack is at the other hand, all wrapped up in a plaster

It pays to read newspapers. While flipping through it, I came across some advertisement on some skincare from Japan which stated that it's sold every 4 seconds in Japan. Hmmm... Something that can rival the sales of Barbie? I must see!

All good things comes in two? :D

It's apparently out in the market in M'sia for sometime now probably since November 2009 and here I am just discovering it! Talk about outdated. Then again, November was one of my busiest months last year with the start of a new job and all. With the amount of crap I had to go through, my face was the least of my worries then but now...Aha!

Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturising is a new range of skincare developed by The Mentholatum Co. USA and Rohto Pharmaceutical Co. JAPAN.

You can read more from here VenusBuzz

Good luck reading it tho, I nearly blinded myself trying to read it. Sorry!

So far, been trying it for just 2 days and I'm really liking it. No breakouts yet and the face wash doesn't make my skin feel tight and uncomfortable or have the 'fake' smoothness Etude House Happy Tea Time face wash seems to give. The face gets coated with some 'oil/wax' that gives us the impression that our face is 'smoother' after washing. It might just be me though.

The moisturizer is a hassle to use having to pat our face for atleast a good 10 - 15 minutes. It starts off as plain watery then becomes sticky and later on when the skin has absorbed it becomes like any other moisturiser on the face. Despite that all, I'll happily use it every night, I wake up with my face looking moisturised even the peeling and roughness I previously had has disappeared. I also give credit to Clinque Moisture Surge for the help of course.

Plastic enough? NOT! Eh, I'm a magic card?!

My workload at work has increased by many many folds. I am now literally and almost drowning. Who could have thought answering emails in mass amount could be so stressful. I mean, it's just emails. Then again, I should have noted the 'mass' in mass amount. Gah! I'll happily forward and answer all the mails regarding cosmetic surgery though. Never imagine Botox cost about RM1.8K and Rhinoplasty cost about RM6-7k. Ouch!

Hmm, talking about cosmetic surgery, after JH went home, I carefully lock the doors, close the windows, brought out my make up kit and started on a look for a contest hosted by Bombshell, for one, I love the unique idea. But I'm a little clueless on the props and hair (I don't own any fancy wigs other than my usual two and they are unfortunately not blond) She did mention that it didn't have to be blond but still, think Barbie, you think blond.

Aim of the game: To be the most plastic contestant (think fake, superficial, Stepford wife, Barbie & Ken) - Bombshell

For one, I'm far from perfect but I loved the idea so I decided "Ah what the heck" but the look didn't turned out right so I'm guessing either I'll try again some other day or just drop out of it. I didn't look plastic enough. Damn, never though trying to look fake or plastic would be so hard. And the other contestant make it look so easy. Not trying to be offend anyone, it's just that they did a fantastic job on it and here I am struggling like an idiot. :P

So anyway, I happily put on my '2 inch' thick make up and set to work with the eyes and lips. I had quite a bit to cover since the pimples is out on full force lately too. Not as bad as my Singapore trip time but it's pretty bad; all because I tried Dr.Jart+ again to re-confirmed that it was the one thing that was giving me pimples. It was. It so was. I'm still sore about it since I liked it; the coverage was excellent and it hurt my wallet quite a bit.

Lipstick used: No brand lip palate + MJ Honey Pump; NYX Narcissus + Guerlain's lipgloss

Initial first few test shots

Decided to just use plenty of black and brown for the eyes and top them off with glasses cleaners eye lashes. The one I bought from the night market. Surprisingly, they didn't look all too butt ugly on camera. I would have earned myself endless teasing if the CH guys saw me in it but since I was in the safety of my room, I was - safe.

Used MAC Petticoat on my cheeks and toned the pinkish-ness with TBS Shimmer wave in Peach.

The pictures might not be perfect but at least give me credit for posting them up without any of them being photoshopped.

Hey if you see my pimples and pores and whatever not, remember that I'm only human and this is me. Sure I can get Kern to photoshop the hell outta my photos and tweak just about everything; make me eyes bigger, clean up the fall outs, erase scars, pores, moles and just about everything and make me look all perfect and ethereal but I decided I'm not going to do all that.

I've never hidden the facts that I have scars and so forth so if you have some nasty comments, go ahead but you'll end up looking like a total idiot since this is no secret. And I'll be more than happy to say, "Way to go Captain Obvious!'

I'm not looking for nice comments or anything and I'm not obsessed with myself, I just enjoy posting all the failed experiments and hey, this is in some way my online diary where I can look back, slap my forehead and wonder what the hell was I thinking when I did that.

Ah, finally forked out my hard earned pay to buy this - Origins, Out of Trouble.

I've previously bought the smaller bottle one to try out and discovered that I really liked it. But the price was a little too pricy so I looked around in The Body Shop. They had the Aloe Vera mask (RM66) but the sales girl was not too friendly so I went over to Origins and bought this instead. Oh well.

I tend to just put on a thin layer and go sleep in it. It's nice cause it calms down inflamed skin as well. During the times when my skin is all red and agitated, I'll slap some of these on and go sleep. It doesn't dry up like clay mask does and so it doesn't crack and make you scratch your face like a monkey scratches its ass.

Ouch, ouch, ouch my wallet. My thinning wallet.

Other than that, been stocking up on masks from Guardian and some bought online. The Strawberry Souffle smells pretty good but after a while, you'll be gasping for air. Overpowering scent in weird strawberry. How good is it? Err.. the Blemish mask works way better but it smells exactly like toilet cleaners. The scents from the mask is overpowering for my sensitive nose and after the "Hmmm, smells great.." you'll be crawling on the floor, begging for oxygen. Okay, slight exaggeration on my side but still even Elisa agrees with me. On the toilet clearer part anyway. UGH!
JH was with me when I bought the mask and his small eyes grew bigger when he saw the picture on the packets, he commented it looks like something from scary movies / nightmares.

The masks; The picture that will scare little kids

I agree. What I did not agree to was this...

Woke up from my very nice nap, logged online and what's this weird comments I see on my email. Checkout my FB and ta daa, JH has made another 'motivational poster' of me. I admit, it's been a while since I laughed this hard but just as well, I'm sharpening my claws for when I see him tomorrow.

Prepare yourself for punishment, JH!

I'm easy to please though, all you have to do is appease me with your Baneslayer card *rubs hands*

Magic: I'm Gathering :P

Two of the cards that I own, the unicorn on the left has been my #1 favourite and is now happily behind a glass picture frame :P

One of our oldest and most respected colleague whom we all affectionately call 'Mummy' gave me some pretty good advise whenever she's free and in a chatty mood. I remember one of them being, "if you can't beat 'em, join em". Rightooo, don't think she was talking about magic cards but I decided that perhaps I ought to join them after seeing how JH is so into it - again after years of quitting. Not to mention most of the CH guys are into it as well.

JH gave me the cards knowing I'm a BIG fan of Serra Angel and Elvish Piper. Yay

But I guess I join them in my own little way. Decided to collect the cards for the art. They have some really super nice looking arts on some of them and Padios and JH has been giving me some inexpensive cards to start my little collection. Decided against collecting anything too expensive. Still need to get over the 'I am using good money to exchange for little pieces of "poker" cards' thinking.

The theme: Angels, Unicorns and all the pretties (preferably females)

More unicorn cards that I badly wanted. I wonder if it's a good or bad thing that I don't own a paypal account or I might have raided Ebay

It's not that I don't know how to play the game, I do but I can't call myself a regular player even. I was taught by a 'certain' someone and since I hated the person, it ended up ruining my love for the game. But beautiful art is beautiful art and I can't hate anything beautiful.

I am a sexist when it comes to video games, online games and some other games. I only play it if there's pretty females involved. Like Lara Croft from Tomb Raider, and females from Final Fantasy. Go play Old Maid yourself though. HMPH!

I want I want I want I want I want I want I want!!!!!

Thankfully, I have a bit of money from my 'cosmetic fast' after another bad run in with an online seller. Have not bought anything online or cosmetics for a while now but soon, I know I'll have to. My usual stuffs are starting to run out. *sigh* Etude house was having a sale with 30% off my super favourite, The Precious mineral BB cream and 50% off the Magic BB cream. Both have gone out of stock by the time I visited the shop. Heartache since I really wanted the Precious Mineral BB cream. It doesn't oxidize to a funky shade, oil control is almost as good as BRTC and it's my shade!

Worst, I'm still eyeing The Body Shop Moroccan Rose perfume despite getting a bottle of Issey Miyake perfume for Christmas from JH. ARGH! Hmm, suddenly it would seems like all the money saved isn't gonna remain saved.

Adds to list of to buy - a nice looking card folder. Preferably must be in pink.

Well then, considering how poor I really am or will be, guess I'll be shifting through the piles of discarded common card box at GameForge that the magic players decided to set up.

Pwetty pweety cards come to mama!

Definitely not cards I will find in the GameForge discarded bin but dang, aren't they oh so pretty? If I ever get my hands on the Twilight Shepard, I'll happily frame that one up too, but I think JH might knock me silly if I did that.

My life is brilliant.
My love is pure.
I saw an angel.
Of that I'm sure.
She smiled at me on the subway.
She was with another man.(Ash: Am deciding if I should rob the man)
But I won't lose no sleep on that,
'Cause I've got a plan.(Ash: Yes I decided I'll rob him afterall)

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you.(No thanks to the fact that I don't have paypal)

Yeah, she caught my eye,
As we walked on by.
She could see from my face that I was,
Flying high
And I don't think that I'll see her again,
But we shared a moment that will last till the end.

- You're beautiful, James Blunt

P.s: Thanks Padios for giving me your Sparkmage Apprentice card. Me love love!
