About 2 weeks ago, after a long day at work, came home to find a small parcel for me. I was a little confused as I don't remember ordering anything, saw the address and it was from
Yana with a small jar of Laura Mercier silk creme foundation. Talk about giving me a lot, it was more than enough for over 4 applications! Whoa! Thank you Yana!
It was slighter tanner than my usual foundations but I happily used it anyway, I just used a little loose powder over it and no one realised the shade was slightly tan. JH even commented I look pretty.

Pretty is the best he can come up with so pretty is good :D
The Laura Mercier foundation was good, I loved it! It was lightweight and goes on silky smooth and had good coverage! I didn't even have to use a concealer under my eyes. Best part, it didn't break me out. My skin has been a little finicky lately, any foundation that goes on top, it makes a scene by popping out a pimple.
Unfortunately, the price wasn't all that pretty at RM153 a tube. It has been years since I paid RM120 for an Estee Lauder Ingenious Foundation (Discontinued 2006-2007) and RM153 is a little hard to come out from my pocket. Perhaps someday,
Pinky doodle doo went to Singapore and a light bulb went up above my head. Asked her to buy me the Missha Perfect Cover BB cream 30ml since I've heard good reviews for it so why not?
If I can't get the Laura Mercier this should be a good substitute, right? Pinky called back and told me they didn't have the 30ml, they had either the 20ml or 50ml. So she bought me the 50ml one. I nearly died. I knew it was somewhere about S$45.
I check online and saw online sellers selling the 50ml for RM55. I nearly cried. In my head, I could hear my mom saying, ' Penny wise, Pound foolish'.
I'm a fool *sobs*
I comforted my self saying that at least I KNOW it's real Missha and sweet Pinky doodle doo kindly paid for half. Awww~
So how was Missha? Was it as great or as bad as everyone mentioned?
Well, to each his own. It comes out of the tube in a worrying grayish colour but thankfully #21 fits me well. It's not crazily sticky, has pretty good coverage but is a little thick. So far, I like it! Say bye bye to all pores.
The colour did not oxidise on me like how some people experienced but oil control? Non existent for me. I look like I fell face first into a barrel or oil. Okay okay, maybe it's not that bad but after 3-4hours, my nose rivals Rudolph in terms of 'shinning-ness'. I finally got to use my Crabtree and Evelyn blotters I bought 4 years ago. Whee!
Breakouts? Can't say for now, it's too close to my 'time of the month' so I was getting pimples. Not sure if it was from the BB cream or the usual cycle. BAH!
We'll soon find out. You can read
Sincerely Mimi for a comparison between Skin79 and Missha Perfect Cover.
In the end, I still like the Laura Mercier better so.. someday one day during a really big sale :P
One of the rare days when my right hand is painted nicer than my left. I'm right handed.
Colour: EggshellSaw this from
SugarSpiceandwhatnots and fell in love with the colour. Made a mental note to self to check out Elianto a little more often now.

Eggshell looks great on you! :) About the Missha, like you said at least you know it's the real deal. I love how natural it looks on you. About the shine, I wonder if using a primer underneath would help? Or does that defeat the whole purpose of it being a BB cream? *scratches head*
I've never seen nail polish in that colour before. It looks very stylish.
Thanks! =)
Ash, are you back from Singapore yet?
