*Phew* That's the longest title on my blog. Had to write out everything or I'll end up forgetting which topic the reviews was in. My memory ain't all that good lately, it's beginning to behave like an old computer with too many junks and has not been defragmented recently.
On with the Rimmel's Glam' Eyes Mascara which promises ultra volume, high definition (sounds like some LCD or plasma TV advertisement) but anyway here's my 2 cents on it.
Packaging - 7.5
Product - 8/10
Price - 9/10
Would I repurchase - yes
Overall - 7.5/10
Note: For one, you'll never see me giving anything a 10, two, if I rate it 9, it's MY HG (Holy grail)
While some girls rave about this product saying that it's a holy grail for everyone and how everyone MUST get this, I beg to differ. I'm not saying that it's bad, for the price (I got it at RM28) it's a steal and a good bargain but it also depends if we really need it. For one, Rimmel Glam' Eyes Mascara definitely lengthens but it hardly volumize our lashes, something that I need badly considering that I have very little lashes.
If you already have very full lashes, and just need a mascara to lengthen for the extra drama, this is indeed perfect, but if you're like me, with a little hair here, a little hair there, this alone is not good enough. You'll probably need two mascara then. It's not stated whether this mascara is waterproof or not but rest assured that it is and surprisingly, very easy to remove. No need the scrub and smudge like f*** routine. And because of the wand, it's quite hard for your lashes to clump together. So no worries there. But for me, I needed to reapply it a couple of times to be able to see anything, remember that I'm single eyelids and my eyelids pushes my lashes downwards so thus 'shortens' it slightly.
I suppose till now, one of my favourite HG for mascara is still Kate's Separate Volume Mascara (RM38) Cheap and good. As you know I NEED Volume and this is one mascara that gives me just that. Sure it clumps occasionally but without it, I look like someone without any eyelashes. But everyone's needs is different and so is everyone's taste on mascaras. Some swears by their Chanel, some on Estee Lauder and M.A.C, but whatever it is choose one that you need, as in, if you have short lasges, get one that lengthens, you need volume, get ones that helps volumize and not get one because someone swears by it. It's about you, choose what your lashes need, also get a waterproof one that doesn't smudge like f*** (ie; Maybelline Mascaras)
And yes I have a problem with Maybelline mascaras, the effects is good by I'll give you an hour before you start looking like a racoon. It smears and smudges like no tomorrow ans it's difficult to wash off often leaving hard to come off residues under our eyes. I would know, I've been using it for quite some time before finally discovering Kate. After that, gone are the days of racoons.
Another thing that irks the shit outta me, silly girls giving silly reviews. I've comes across some bloggers that rave about just about everything. A rock can turn to a diamond with the way they describe it. But ultimately, a rock remains a rock. Poor Elisa ended up buying a couple of stuffs after reading a blogger's review only to find out that the products is one of the worst of it's kind. I note that everyone's taste, skin, likes is different but to rave about something that bad leaves me speechless.
Also it would really help if some people who can't trim/ thread/take care of their own eyebrows, please don't do a tutorial on 'How to take care of your eyesbrows' pleaseee?
I've seen a somewhat reknown Malaysian blogger teaching the readers on how to shape their eyebrows and is horrorfied. Especially when her eye brows are so badly mangled, over plucked and had the weirest tadpole shape!
Like Kern says, eyes are windows to our soul and eyebrows are the frames. Who wants to frame the Mona Lisa with plastic strips from 7/11?
While another blogger did EOTD but had the bushiest eyebrows on planet Earth and instead of seeing her eyes first, all we saw was her eyebrows. I'm not being mean or bitchy and going around thinking that I'm the best in eyebrows or EOTDs or whatever but think of it this way, do you want to see someone teaching you how to do manicures with UGLY, bitten, dirty, stained nails?
We're all learning and we're all mostly amateurs doing your best, so if you really can't handle it, don't do it. That's all. No one is going to blame you for not doing an eyebrow tutorial. It's even weirder when someone with 'geli' eyebrows teaching us how to do it. I personally can't handle my own eyebrows, one reason why I did eyebrow embroidery.
Okay that's off my chest, moving on, the Etude House Pore Erasing Peach base. A lightly peach scented base that promises to cover pores and make skin looks smooth or flawless or something or another.
We don't have this in Penang, but Ian was nice enough to go over to Sunway Pyramid and got these babies back for us. It cost about RM49.90 each and comes in two colour, Peach & Mint.
I've seen many bloggers raving about this stuff and had me wondering what's so great about it so we decided to get it and try it out ourselves. For one, I didn't not expect the base to be so big. I was shocked to see the size of the base. One look at it and I knew it's going to last me till God knows when.
So far so good, I can see that it really does cover up the pores nicely, but if you have huge a** moon craters on your face, this will help a little bit just as well, it won't make the moon craters disappear but it'll definitely help 'soften' the holes. I would know, I had the opportunity to test it on Ian. XD
*Getting too late will add more reviews on this tomorrow.
The OxyMask from Beauty Talk Korea that I got from Sasa. I'll update the reviews on this in about a week or less so that I can give a more accurate review on it.
