Hard Rock Hotel, here I comeeeee!

Everything that goes up must come down - all except age anyway. Well, for me this has been the down time. I think too many late nights finally caught up to me and bit me on the ass. Yes it did. I did not only grew a SUPER volcano sized pimple but I also grew plenty of mountains and hills to go with it and to keep the SUPER volcano company.

Ahhh~ misery loves companion.

I had barely 3 hours of sleep yesterday, woke up thanks to Jobe's alarm clock. He set it at 6am. On a Sunday! T.T He forgot about unsetting it and it rang and rang and I actually fell asleep about 5.30am. But since Jobe is a very sweet guy, he's forgiven. He's too sweet for anyone to even get mad at.

So anyway, why was it that I could even hear Jobe's alarm? Easy, we all (not all, the Clubhouse members) all decided to check into Hard Rock Hotel! Wheee! The first Hard Rock Hotel in Malaysia too! It wasn't the official opening yet but it was operational and us being nosy and free all checked into the hotel for a night's stay.

Even Jobe agreed, this pictures does not justice to the size of the swimming pool. I love the part where there's a side of the pool with sand and rocks and it's as if we're swimming in the sea. The rooms on the ground floor all have their own access to the pool, but the room below are not fully done yet so they were off limits.

Hopefully when Lawrence (he went with Kern, Fong and dragged me along to take a look today) post up the pictures he got today, I'll post up further pictures of the pool.

The beach

The boy's room, our room had a king sized bed and was a little messy so I took the picture of the boy's room instead. The bathroom was a little pain in the ass. The faucet/tap was a little too curved so whenever we washed our faces and our face if full of foam and somewhat blinded, we kept hitting and hurting our hands on curve of the faucet/tap. And instead of a mirror in the middle of the sink, it was a picture of Ray Charles (I might be wrong) so it was a little annoying to put on make up.

P.s: Thanks TJ! Had a good laugh at myself, you're right it's Ray Charles and NOT Charles Ray. Muahaha!

Went to Pizzaria for dinner, we decided to order pizza and share it out among the 11 of us, 3 decided to order their own stuffs. We got 8 pizza out of the 9 avaliable ones (no one wanted Tandoori pizza) and we all agreed that the pizza was fantastic and reasonably priced. We paid less than RM20 per person and stuffed to the brim and we even got one FREE pizza from the chef! Yummy!

Phew, the trip wasn't all that tiring since we basically stayed in the hotel the entire time, we're all Penangites so there was no need to venture out and explore Penang any further. Overall, the stay was so worth it and it was bloody fun. The drinking session started early and by 2am, everyone was either high or starting to get pissed drunk. I, on the other hand, had nothing but coffee. :D

After taking more booking forms from Tommy; Lawrence, Fong, Kern and I headed over to Gurney Plaza. Bought a pink colored top from Joy and got a small box of Vitamins from some draw sponsored by The Star Newspaper. Lawrence gave me the deodorant he got. LOL! Kern won an MP3 player!

Will post up more on the dress and stuffs on the next entry.

P.s: Finally got an idea on what to get the super special somebody who has everything for her birthday. Hallelujah! *pats herself on the back*

Was out for some drinks when Elisa called to ask me what time I'll be heading home, sounds a little not her so I rushed back as soon as I could and she called to tell me there was a video she wanted me to see.

On the back of my head, I wasn't thinking much, I didn't expect it to be what it was. Elisa kept the video for quite some time now and had 'forgotten' about it till she dug it up again so hey, since she gave the green lights to post it up on my blog, woo-hooo!

How on earth she manage to forget something like that is beyond me, but here's the clip, enjoy!

The video was originally made to cheer me up during the whole heartache period which has thankfully came to pass. But still I laughed really loud when I finished the clip.

NOTD Pinky Polka

One thing I absolutely cannot stand is chipped nail polish on someone/ anyone. It drives me nuts. Worst if I knew that the person has been biting on it. To me, it doesn't matter if the person has long or short nails, painted or unpainted as long as it's neat looking. Okay okay, it doesn't even have to be neat but doesn't makes you cringe at the sight of it.

Too much accessories and colours ie: Too much glitters, bling blings or colours is too distracting for me so I tend to want my nails to be just nice and not too much. I tend to use hot pink when I want the attention but other than that, light pinks and pinks are my favourite.

Been using a lot of pinks because of a few reasons but mostly because my nails has grown somewhat long and I hate using darker colours on longer nails. It gets people's attention, a little too much of it and their first impressions on seeing someone with long nails is - Rich girl! I hate that! The reason for their impression is because it's only if you're rich you don't have to do house works and thus is able to keep long nails. Of course there are also people like me with slightly strong nails. Like I've said before in my previous post. I can handle washing dishes and mopping floors and all without chipping my nails.

Anyway, as you can see from above, I'm a little too much into polka dots lately, maybe it's because they are so easy to do, it takes less than 15 mnutes to get everything done. I tried the light pink for the tips and was initially very worried since it looked almost like the base colour but thankfully, it came out fine. Hee!

*sigh*

Been a little obsessed about bows lately, cause my hair is growing much longer and a little outta control but mostly because I kept reading Eki's blog and been dying to order some stuffs from her but due to finiancial constraint, I'm seriously unable too. Made a few quick calculations a couple of days ago for one of her bows, it cost close to RM20 for one and this is minus shipping. It's times like this that I seriously wished I lived in America and earning American Dollars or atleast someplace where the currency isn't so weak. LOL!

But hey, I got the bow for only RM4 to match my Burberry Bag :D

Cakey!

Was browsing around some shops in Perangin Mall when I came across this. Woo-Hoo. I loved them! I love anything to do with cakes and pasteries anyway. I used it to store my lipsticks, a pathetic collection and I may not have an army of them but I'm happy with what I got. I tend to use gloss more. Love love the Snapple lip gloss from Elyn! Hee~

Caned me not in vain

Was having dinner with Sulin and Neko when the topic about getting caned as a child came up. It may be a weird topic for a lot of people out there especially in non-asian countries or pro-western families that the idea of getting 'whacked' with a rattan stick seems odd.

The rattan has always been a good punishment tool to disipline children over here. It's about 3 feet in length, extremely flexible, makes a 'whoosh' sound when you hit the air with it and hurts like bloody hell.

Kids nowadays are bloody lucky, having never to getting subjected to this kind of punishment. Back then, about 20 years ago, I would always get caned for being mischevious, misbehaving and fighting with my older sister, Pinky Doodle Doo. The thought of our parents getting the rattan will send us scrambling for safety or instant tears.

To think about it, I got whacked quite a bit. The red welts left behind on our skin after each session would last for a day or so and it really really hurts. We would run round and round the dining table or ran around the house, garden and all just to well.. run from it.

Boys school got the brute of it mostly as this was a normal form of punishment for them. During assembly every Mondays, names would be announced and the poor boys would get it on their asses. We girls are exempted from this but of course now adays, schools are no longer permitted to use this form of punishment. Thanks to some over zealous teachers who 'over' use this and ended up injuring some students.

If you ask me if this is inhuman and abusive and very wrong, I fear I might have to disagree. It's only all that when the teachers or parents abuse that power and end up injuring the child. Trust me there are times when I, myself feels like using the rattan stick to give some bratty, ill-mannered child a good whacking. The way they scream and shout at their parents in public makes my bloody boil.

But as parents we should understand and know that not all kids ought to be caned. I just simply can't imagine Elyn of Serendipity caning her daughter, Alexandra in this manner especially since Elyn's method of raising a child is pretty pro-western and not to mention Alexandra is matured beyond her years and gives Elyn no or little problems.

Ahh, what a weird topic to even talk about. Well, don't be horrofied by it, most of the people who gotten whacked in our younger days grew up to be pretty good people. We grew up not hating our parents for it but actually a little thankful for the lessons learned. Most of all, we grew up disiplined as well as respecting our parents and we grew up with funky stories like this to talk about and laugh. Of course, we weren't laughing then. Heh.

P.s: We got smarter in the end, we would hid the cane in places our mom could never find. Anyway this is just MY own opinion, obviously there will be people who would beg to differ. To each his own.

I badly wanted to adopt a dog from them but it turned out not only did my father threw a hissy fit but it was too expensive. *sigh* Will stick to picking up strays...

A fellow blogger that I stumble upon when I was reading Elyn's blog if I remember correctly. I followed her blog almost religiously because I liked this girl quite a bit for her unbiased reviews on skincare products as well as her straight forwardness and point of views of everything under the sun.

Kern of Simple sky thought
One thing I love about Kern's blog is the food recipes (she doesn't have a lot up yet). Kern is probably the only one out of the three of us; Me, Elisa and her, who can actually cook edible food (mostly desserts). I have to admit that me and Elisa is usually busy exploding eggs or putting the toaster out of fire. Two incidents that actually happened. *sigh*
